Not quite TBH most lifts are still pretty close. Bench has probably suffered the most. But I put 85 lbs on my bench in a somewhat short amount of time so I kinda figured I wouldnt keep it all lol. I was at 360 at the end of my cycle and probably 320-330ish now. Everything else is pretty close though. Just need a little longer rest between sets now haNice workout Bro! Just getting out of the gym so short update. Hit back and bi's horrible DL day. Done DL'ing. My lower back hurts so bad I can't stand up straight right now.
Dez- I don't have a specific routine I usually aim for 14-18 total reps on my big 3 lifts not including warm ups. And 20-25 on everybthing else. I DL every other back day. So once every other week. I don't understand what you mean by day before/after. Even with 135 it just feels wrong.

DL are important but so is not getting hurt. Have you tried switching to rack pulls for a few cycles? Do you carb up for dead days?

No I've never tried rack pulls. That's pulling from mid-shin right? Sometimes I carb up before. Just depends on what day it falls on.
Yea about mid shin pulling in the power rack. Your reason for the differentiation in weight pulled could be diet dependent bro.

Big D,if you aren't going to compete in PL'ing then see if your gym has a trap bar for DL'ing. It is so much easier on the lower back. Other than that it sounds like you are pulling predominantly with your back and not getting the legs and glutes into the lift. Post up another vid and lets see what's up.
I always think about it like I'm squatting with the bar in my hands. I get wayyyyyyyy down, lock my back up straight, tighten the lats, and push off with my legs like you do from the bottom of a deep squat. My lower back doesn't really even engage until just before lockout.
Thanks for the input man. I've had so much good advice on here the last couple months regarding DL's. It just doesn't seem to help me no matter what I do. Like I said earlier I'm really close to just giving em up. I'm bustin my shins up and hurting my back for nothin lol

Glad I'm not the only one! Hopefully something starts feeling right. I really don't wanna ditch DL's but I can't handle my back hurting all the time much longer!I'll tell you what, I really struggled with them too in the same way as you. Back was hurting, shins bruised and bloody. i got tons of advice and watched countless videos. Then someone suggested what I said up there about thinking of it like a squat and everything fell into place. It's all about finding what works for you personally and gives you the connection you need to complete the motion in the way it needs to be done. Just keep trying different thought experiments and form methods and you'll find one that feels good before too much longer.

AGREE!! I hate deads.. always have.. its one workout that if i skip a day i skip it.. lol. sucks since i need that lift to compete. oh well , just get my bench and squat higher!!!!

This lol I've always hated them I did them in HS because we were forced to for football but quit doing them on a regular basis until about 6 months ago now I'm trying to get back into doing them...not as easy as it was when I was 18 lol

I pretty much don't have the disc between L5-S1. It hurts like hell but still in the game.
