Airborne's Quest to PowerLifting (and whatever he's on ATM)

I get calluses that hurt real bad and when that happens i use straps for awhile with almost everything till they get better.

Ha that's actually the reason I started using straps. I got tired of ripping calluses off my hands all the time. Plus the wife complains about how rough my hands get.

Me personally have never missed a lift due to grip strength. Even on deads I've pulled 405 x 14 no straps.

Chalk really does wonders.

Speaking of deads I'm starting to think I should just give up on them lol I've always hated them, and I've spent the last month trying to work on form and I still suck at them. My form looks aweful when I record myself. I've watched so many YouTube vids and know WHAT to do I just can't make myself do it!! So frustrating! End rant lol

Ha I actually have made a couple tonight. I've been DLing for the last 45 mins tryin to get it right! I've tried to post vids before but can't from my phone. Ill try tonight when I get home to try to upload them to my computer. If it works ill throw it up in the fat sacks thread so I don't hijack ABs thread even more. Sorry AB!

Just depends on the goals brother! I have Versa Grips and I love them but I can grip it and rip it on singles and triples. However I tend to use the Versa's a lot to keep the callous down. My wife can't stand it when I rub on her and my hands are jacked up. I happen to love rubbing on the wife so I wear gloves and keep the callous down on my hands. I will be training more without them during the 5-3-1 run though.

Yeah I got some Liquid Chalk just recently since our gym doesn't allow chalk. Like I said I will be trying to hit some lower reps and working more without the hand protection, will just have to work on smoothing the callouses out a bit.

Yeah maybe seeing yourself lift a few reps will tell you what you are doing wrong and if not then having some of these guys with good lifts critique you will help.

Great info in here. Unless your a competitive lifter straps shouldn't matter unless you wanna work on grip strength.

I don't consider it hiijackin. This thread is for informational purposes to fire away!

I will have to check, I managed to use some pitchers resin for a bit but stopped when I noticed it was leaving the sticky resin on bars after I used them.
 
That stuff will change your life.hah Did you notice the first ingredient? CARAMEL! How is that even possible..lol

That and the fats in it are good sources. On top of that if you are trying to carb up that stuff is the shiz for sure. It has double the carbs of regular icecream and was so creamy and rich I couldn't believe it!

haha..YUP! If you like mint try that too. It tastes like straight up fresh mint. Coconut is bomb too. Pretty much everyone I have tried is delicious.
Think I found my dessert for backloading...
Soo good man. And from an ingredient standpoint it is great.
 
WOW I am so jealous right now. They have a banana split one, a vanilla and the SeaSalt Caramel at the Krogers here by the house. I will be looking for the coconut, and that Caramel Cookie Crunch Oh it looks SOOOO GOOODDD!!!!!!!!

Banana is pretty good. Not my favorite though.

I think the best part about the sea salt and caramel is you start eating it, and it is so good, then you realize their is pieces of caramel filled chocolate mixed in there, and it gets even better..hah

Coconut is heavenly too. I notice certain stores always stock certain flavors so I need to go to different stores depending on what I want..hah

That was my experience exactly! I will find the coconut and the Caramel Cookies definitely be trying the mint to. I think this place has the mint just not when I want to get icecream for the family.

I will check them out, BUT when something is hard, or you suck at it, you don't stop doing it. You do it MORE.

As Kleen said it's Gelato. It has less air whipped in giving it a creamier richer texture.

Valdez I forgot about pistachio. Another winner. Choc pb cup is great,just housed half the jar. Been looking for it for a while.

Got it. Thanks bro. It's just frustrating because like bench and shoulder stuff comes so naturally to me and I struggle so much with this ya know?

As bad as mine are and as much as I hate them I get the urge to go DL at the most random times. Usually at night. Actually why I was at the gym so late tonight. I was sittin at home and the urge to DL hit me haha. Hip problems are no fun.

It's a good thing I didn't have someone record me during my set of good mornings.

I was Airborne inspired and hit a new PB. Unfortunately during the second set I twinged my back and cut the set short by 5 reps.

On second thoughts. Maybe I should have recorded it. It could have been a YouTube viral hit. "Retard decides to add 22lbs to his set of good mornings and immediately regrets his decision".

Haha well glad u kicked ass but ya goodmornings are dangerous haha I do on back days. Ima try gettin a squat tonight on cam. Something 600+
