Airborne's Quest to PowerLifting (and whatever he's on ATM)

I have been gaining awesome strength. Today was weak tho. Not fatigued

So what's the deal big guy? Not gaining enough lbs? Aesthetic wise?

I am lookin better so I guess not to bad... It's just gettin to me. I'll get there. Only week 4 of Test. Came to the conclusion this SD is garbage. Just gonna be patient

Seein the scale move the wrong direction as well as strength on deads from 700 to hard time pulling 600

Maybe diet? Outside stress? Overuse on sdrol? Just trying to get more info man. I'm not seeing quite as good of results as I thought test/dbol would give but I think other factors play a major role in my case. I want to have he Arnold physique damn it!!! :-)

I agree brother! I'm Seein a lil bit of a size difference... Still especially in tris and traps. It's only week 4 your right
 
How has your training changed from your last cycle to your current one?

Some other things to consider.

The more advanced you get, typically making gains will be more difficult, slower and less dramatic.

If your bf is not going up or even slightly decreasing every lb on the scale is huge.

The amount of food that got you from say 230-250 likely won't get you from 250-270.

The amount of "aas" that got you from 230-250 may not get you from 250-270(we're talking in the short term)

Talk to someone like Kleen who's been at this a long time and I'm certain he'll tell you at his level of development he's happy to even gain a couple lbs of clean mass a year. **** I know I am. 2-4lbs of actual muscle for me at this point would be great as I'm not willing to push aas doses up. Lol

You get to the point you are fighting for every lb. But it is this 2-5lb gain year after year which adds up and amounts to carrying around a **** ton of muscle.
 
I totally agree... I'm takin in the factor. Was just irritable last night and confused. Didnt wanna think myself then but thank you for your help brother! I appreciate it. I set up cam last night to do a pull and had a hard time pulling 600 so didn't wanna embarass myself

You know you got it,and we all do too!i hate that ish,I set up my cam last week to do a set of bench for fun and was going for 275 for 5.hit it for 3 and was so pissed,then next set hit it for 5 without the camera of course!

On that topic, I was actually just talking to my training partner about just that.

I find the DL can have huge swings. One day I can yank 550 like it's nothing. A week later I'm working up and 405 feels heavy, 500 my head just about explodes.

He finds a lot of it with the DL has to do with your mental state. I tend to agree with that. If I am having an off night and just don't have that fire my pull seems to suffer.

With things bench, ohp, etc my weights barely fluctuate. But a dl i can lose 50lb by having an off night.

Nah I'm switching it up - pink spandex shorts, 80's belly muscle shirt, bandana and an eas squeeze water bottle with kre-alkalyn in it : )

My old neighbor who used to own Gold's Gym (who's a cop) wears the bright spandex, belly tank, etc.

Frank, is there any studies showing any differences between a liquid food meal vs a whole food meal?

I think the only difference would be if you don't chew a little with the "liquid food". Otherwise we are only talking consistency but the biggest problems with drinking your food is often it does not require you to chew. Chewing releases saliva and saliva contains important digestive enzymes. Even with a whey shake I do the chewing motion with every drink to cause the saliva production that aids in digestion. Keeps me from needing to get proteins fortified with digestive enzymes. It is an old school trick I learned from a nutritionist before you started seeing proteins with the enzymes in them already.

K well I'm lost on wtf is goin on... I'm eating like crazy, lifting like a beast. Strength was not at all there today... Meaning I had a hard time pulling 600. Not only that but I'm at +1 pound... I don't ****in understand... I'm harder with constant pump but no visible fat loss... I'm not gonna get into it... Methastadrol is garbage SD. I know I'm only on week 4 of Test... I just don't know.

If you are harder then the muscle density is increasing, denser muscle fiber is not only a sign of growth but muscle maturity. Muscle fibers that have matured are harder and more dense that is when they get lean and look like granite. Their are many forms of muscle growth.

Definitely track your foods. I use MyFitnessPal also and it has most things and is really easy to use. I bet as Frank has suggested you are not eating as much as you think you are. That plate of food you had back there looked good but it looked like It was your wife's plate not a 260 lb man trying to bulk. Unless that was a serving plate not a dinner plate that shouldn't have been considered anything but a snack for you.

Since this is a Power lifting thread with lots of PL guys I am getting ready to start 5/3/1 and am getting some sleeves for my knees and elbows. I don't really need to get spring out of them or added pounds. Also I want something that I can wear through my entire workout.

I was looking at the INZER XT for knees and elbows or the Titans for knees and elbows.

I had a pair of Tommy Konos for a while and liked them but the ripped. I figured if I was going to buy some neoprine again I would get some that were fitted better to the shape of the knee and leg so they would not bunch up behind the knee as bad. I have red that the Rhebands Blues the originals were some of the best and that this new company Titan is basically exactly the same cut and compression but better stitching. Does anyone have any experience with any of these? I am not competitive by any means my estimated maxes from my current lifts are Bench 360, Squat 479, Dead 584, I think those are pretty close for bench and squat, and skeptical on the dead lift. Those are just from the Strength Standard Calculator for the 5/3/1 program generator here Invalid Link Removed anyway, looking to get some support and joint warming going on without going overboard, I just want to keep myself safe. Any suggestions?

She had me nervous as sh1tbthw first time because my hip bones are kinda high lol good spot though and I agree not used enough. Might be kind of hard to get yourself though at first.

It is actually really easy, probably one of the easier spots. I am sure harder if you aren't lean enough to see it well, and don't know where it is.
