Also, I'm going to have to look into a different routine... DC and intense training isn't going to get me very far when I'm sick all the time from over training.

Throw up some ideas for me guys... I'm thinking 3 day split. That leaves 2 week days for training and the weekend. We have a combatives gym at my station so ill train there also. I want to keep my strength made off of DC. I feel like I could be a little stronger than some 160 weight class guys.

Keep the DC but only take the first set to failure...done. Quads and Back thick stuff just do a heavy set to 8 reps to keep the strength. When 8 is easy to do, up the weight.

This obviously wouldn't be considered DC just using some of the fundamentals... Had to say that so no one that trains DC gets miffed.

Like I had said, I have taken DC ideas and bastardized them to fit my recovery abilities for my age. By just taking the one set to failure, you should still be able to add strength but reduce the stress on recovering that the 3 would have done. Depending on how hard into the MMA you push, you still might have to dial this down even more.
