Everything Fishing - Come On In!!!

My motor for my john boat is ****ed up, i have no idea whats wrong with it, like when you put it in gear it'll cut off unless the chokes on, it's weird. Anyways i haven't really caught anything special lately, some brim, crappie, and some decent sized bass. Just been fishin' in ponds near where i live in NC, haven't made it to the beach yet. Maybe make a trip there in the next few weeks? Who knows.

Pull carb off side of motor and go down to local marine mechanic and buy a rebuild kit most only have like 2 tiny o rings a new needle and a gasket or to very simple to rebuild just lay it out when u tear it down this is assuming ur talking a tiller steer motor on the john boat

I need to make some adjustments on my carburetor and then I'll be good to go, too. I just can't seem to find the time. It's usually go fishing or hit the gym and I typically end up at the gym. Anybody doing some Father's Day fishing?

Thanks bro! Indiana and a good ole hook and worm.

For real? I've only caught Crappie on Beetle Spins, Tubes, and live minnows. I want to say that my Mom always used Rooster Tails when we lived in Maryland.

^^^My mom taught me most of what I know about fishing, lol...sorry dad!

I know, right! I don't know what happened with my dad. His father held a state record or two for fishing and played minor league ball. My dad has never caught a Large Mouth and I was out throwing him by age 9 or 10, lol. I guess it skipped a generation.

Out of all my poles something very large takes the bait on the weakest line, my daughters pole. I guess I am going to beef up all my poles cause losing a fish like that stinks.

Caught 8 catfish yesterday,largest went 3 1/2lbs,the smallest went 2lbs.Not a bad day.Left the lake around noon.

If I would have been there longer I could have had a meal that was the perfect size in my book. A little bigger wouldn't hurt. I like younger fish due to the flavor, less fishy. Them old fish need to stay ok and make memories for others and mate to make other babies.

This coming weekend will be saltwater fishing. Can't wait!

Some good time this weekend. Only caught one but I was very happy. 18.5" just barely legal.

Why yes it was.... I forgot this

Wish I would have grilled it texture was a little weird baking it.

Caught 2 big carp and about 30 small catfish Saturday.Seems as if they recently stocked the lake with small gamefish.Catch a lot of them, but very few of any size.

Was just at Lake George ,NY caught a couple tiny small mouth bass, one 3-4lb SM bass and 1 medium pickerel. I was using lures exclusively and all were caught on Yamamoto Senko 6" worms wacky style (dark purple w/ glitter). I forgot one of my tackle boxes and couldn't try any other color worms.

No bites on crank baits, spinners, tubes or alabama rig. I was quite disappointed with the alabama rig but in reality we were quite limited with how far we could travel. Only had a 10' with 5hp trolling motor... kept us from going anywhere near deeper water. I'll post some pics of my less than impressive catches when the email comes in.

We are also limited to the waters we can fish.I have a 10 footer with a 3hp motor.Hope to have my Bayliner with it`s 55hp Force motor lake ready by next spring.
Some days we do really well, other days not so much.

I hear ya. I'm going back up to Lake George in August for a week and I'm gonna try my old spot out at the camp grounds. Usually pull out 4lb+ small and large mouth bass there casting from waist deep water.

Anyone ever experience this while fishing?

Awesome moment fo sho but don't think I would have nearly as ghey about it lol
I'm not sure were this was caught at. I want to guess North Carolina. If so, seeing a shark out there would be a little more surprising then other fishing areas, which would account for the hilarious reactions.

Understood 100%. I was actually laughing out load here at work hearing the reactions

I forgot about this. I haven't hardly been fishing over the past 6-9 months and my first born is four weeks old tomorrow. I might not be going out a lot to do much of anything for a while, lol.

Thanks guys. It's definitely an amazing feeling.

That's funny, it's a lot easier for me to come into schools of Crappie when it's cold. I don't think I've ever caught one when it's warm out.

Crappie are more of a spring and fall fish and often in lakes more so than ponds. They breed when the water is still cool so they're some of the first fish to move to shallower water. There's a lake down the road from my house in NE Ohio that we hit every year for the crappies. We slay them in late March all the way through early May.

I've got a few ponds and creeks that I always do pretty good in at about the beggining of summer I haven't hit ne lakes for crappie n awhile cuz I nvr really had much luck

I live in Central Florida and fish the "Chain Of Lakes." I'm sure it would be much different fishing for Crappie if I were fishing small lakes or ponds.

We have fished Blue River almost every Saturday since trout season opened in November. We catch our creel limit of 6 most days.I will post some pics of my friends recent fishing expedition to Costa Rica.Could not make it myself due to work.

It must be a different Chain of Lakes. I'm familiar with Altamonte from when I lived in Orlando. I work in Orlando now, but I live in the other direction. It's funny you should mention baby weight. This time last year I was running sub five minute miles and now I think I'm in the worst shape I've ever been in, lol...sad but true.

Long time! Definitely a lot going on when I haven't been out fishing. My wife just got me a marine battery for my boat, though. I think she feels bad for me, lol.

Winter park chain of lakes... And yeah baby weight comes into play.... You just get comfortable/ homely want to spend so much time near your family.

That is a good woman!

hey stxnas, you know anyone who goes wild hog hunting in the area? I've decided I want to take that up as a hobby

Friend of mine just went with his 10yr old. I can get the info from him if your serious.
I'm in Tampa, and looking to start hog hunting. I'm a little old to be starting again, haven't been out hunting since I was 15 or so. But it was my justification for building a new rifle :D I'm still waiting on some parts for it, but it should be all done by next month

I lived in Winter Park when I was in college.

I just work too much right now. I actually feel really bad as of late b/c I hardly get to see my family.

I was really excited when I saw it. She knows me well. What are you doing for work these days?

I believe you know where I live, so it's probably hard to believe when I say no, lol...it's true though. I don't really get along with the red necks, too much. My fishing buddies are a couple of Jamaicans and they don't hunt. Invalid Link Removed
