BCAA -- which brand?

I tried a few samples of BPI blox and I have to admit that stuff tastes better than any other Amino acid product.

bulk modern bcaa is one of the best deals around!

Question, can u cap the powder & avoid drinking it?? I know that would add up to a bunch of caps per serving, but this would bi-pass the taste & be more convieniet. The real question is, would i get the same benefits or will capping it make it less effective??

Good taste, mediocre results. Recovery with modern bcaa is much better!

it wouldn't make it less effective, it would be a pain in the ass to cap it tho...

you could get generic bcaas already capped but then you're not gonna get the sustamine, 8:1:1 ratio, or price point.

I've tried modern bcaa in their bubble gum flavor, worst thing ever!

I've currently got a tub of the old and a tub of the new scivation extend in watermelon, amazing flavor!!

Xtend is very good the new one even better as they've add glutamine with it great tasting too. Another good one is bsn ammino x but id say a little pricey but great tasting

Bulk modern > all bcaa

I just can't get the Modern one to freaking blend, AT ALL.

I even put it in a shaker, nothing. Still a bunch of particles all over. And barely a taste to it, it seems just like dirt water. I man up and take it anyways, but God, the Grapple reminds me of nothing remotely close to a Grape or an Apple.

lukewarm water?

lukewarm water?

I usually go with tap water, which isn't the coldest one... Guess I can try a bit of a warmer version to see... Still doesn't sound too appetizing lol

try room temp (ish) and then ice or fridge after its mixed.
the sustamine allows it to keep longer.

If u let it sit for a few minutes the leucine will disolve. The liquid will look apparently clear. That is what I do. If u want a stonger taste use less water.

What's the deal with this stuff? Another typical BPI scam?

I don't notice any difference. As far as recovery goes youre better off with bcaa. But that's just my experience.

IMO, and at the end of the day, the differences in all these BCAA's are so negligible, just stick with the cheap stuff :)

blox is delicious BUT cant justify the cost compared to tried and true eaa/bcaa products, i use whatever is cheap at the time or what i pick up from the auction

I've been using USPs Modern BCAAs for a while. I toss two scoops into my pre w/wo. Mixes well and tastes ok. I recently grabbed some unflavored BCAAs by Body Strong. Reviews said it mixed as well as USPs and they were correct. So now I'm tossing the unflavored into my FLAVORED pre w/o.

When I run out, I'm might try a product mentioned in this thread. Purple Wraath. BCAA/EAA sounds very interesting if tossed into my pre w/o.

My post workout shake, ON Hydrowhey, has a nice BCAA blend so i dont add to it.

Leucine is the most important one...

SNS Leucine is the way to go.

Yes but you need the other BCAA's (+ some times EAA's) to work in tandem AND prevent overuse of Luecine for the wrong intended purposes (energy, etc)

Alanine is a solid one that often gets overlooked

I like axcell personally. Amino core is pretty good also.

I can't help but love me some Xtend. I am old school. What can i say?

My apologies, I didn't mean to overlook other BCAA/EAAs. I simply was skimming through the thread and saw a post about dosing Leucine 2hrs post meal for the protein synthesis spike as indicated by Layne's research so I was just meaning to comment for that.

No need to apologize man! at all !!

I never saw the benefit of paying a premium price for Ajinomoto certified bcaas, so ModernBcaa makes the most sense. It's simply too good and too cheap not to use. As far a mixability, let it sit for a few minutes and foam and particles won't be a problem. I mix water, Gatorade, and Bcaas in a 2liter plastic jug the night before I golf, and in the morning it's no problem as far as the powders dissolving.

Modern BCAA is my only go-to amino acid supplement. As others have mentioned, bulk mBCAA is a ridiculous deal.

Random question:

How many calories are in 1g of BCAA? Say, 4:1:1?

Why even bother with a 10:1:1 ratio? Just take bulk leucine.

5g glutamine is also a waste of calories.

And a 500mg EAA blend is worthless.

I'm only asking because I've just been looking to Try something new BCAA wise and with my buy one get one plus my employee discount it would come to $15 so at that price you think it'd be worth a try?

Look into USPlabs bulk modern BCAA or SNS bulk leucine. Although $15 isn't a bad price

Thanks for the info....just ordered my bulk modern BCAA. I'll just get something else I need to complete my BOGO deal.

Thanks again
