Today was such a ridiculously awesome workout. I came in with the intention of backing off and 365 being my top weight for a single on squat, then dropping down and doing reps with 315 and 275... Well 365 went up so easy, I decided to try 405, again, up easy. 425 went up without much struggle, but I decided to stop so as not to get too much CNS fatigue. It was the most weight i've done since breaking a bunch of bones back in April of last year. I am certain that I could have done 455 today.
I intended to back off on deadlifts as well, but my warm up sets felt great so i decided to keep going up till 455. Again i think i could have done 475-485. This puts my deadlift numbers right back up there with 1 year ago. By the end of deadlifts, I had a nice pump in my hams, erectors, and quads.. Once I hit my leg extensions, my legs started blowing up with blood. It was an awesome pump and I continued to hit PRs. GHR's were great today too. Felt way easier than they should have. The pump may have even been what slowed me down on these.
So stoked about this workout today. Hopefully my strength will continue to go up in this fashion for the next several weeks. I would love to be pushing around 500 on squat again. Oh and another big thing, weight is at 188 today. That puts me around 8lbs of fat loss for the month, which is right on track. Once I drop about 8 more lbs of fat, its time to start a slow bulk as i'll be at 6% bf, maybe even less.
Just a little bit about me. In two weeks i'm moving to Miami for a job training professional athletes. I already train athletes, but i'll definitely be moving up to a higher echelon of athletes at this place. I feel like athletes respect you more as a coach if you can practice what you preach and can compete with them. As of right now I can keep up with or am faster and stronger than all of my athletes. My goal is to stay ahead of, or on the same level as my athletes. Currently i can run a 4.43 laser 40yrd dash. I really want to hit the 4.3s so that I will still be faster than all my athletes. Hell, maybe I can even get someone to pick me up for a practice squad on a pro football team. Big hopes and dreams, but even if I don't get picked up or looked at, i'll still be a better athlete, and doing what I love, training the best athletes in the country.
