Legacy gets pumped to the max w/ Hemavol and Maximize Intense

Thanks man. I feel like this is the first time i've ever heard that. I've always felt like my delts were pretty small, but alot of that has to do with holding alot of fat right underneath my delts.

No problem. I feel the rear delt , in everybody, is commonly miss treated and over looked, next is side delt. You've got a great shape going for you.

To enhance side delt size do Dumbbell side laterals with arms locked and twisting the pinky finger to the to the sky. Do 2 sets of this in the 12-15 rep range then go to the cable machine for 2 more sets in the 8-10 rep range. Remember to twist that pinky upwards.

This did the trick for me and now I have guys at all the gyms I train at practically begging for my routine! Haha

Hope this helps. And I'll be following your log bro, get it!

I completely agree with you on this statement. The first sets are usually 1 rep shy of failure for me. I've done this style of training before, for longer without having my neural fatigue. Thats why my head keeps telling me its not neural fatigue. The grip strength dropping is almost a dead giveaway for neural fatigue though. Thats why i'm about to start raising the reps back up. Its just weird that most of my lifts are still consistently going up. The fact that i'm dieting down, certainly isn't helping any. I did up the calories this weekend, hoping that it would at least help with the possible endocrine fatigue. Its just so hard to back off sometimes, especially being an athlete.

You can keep the lower reps in there, just go with more of a periodization protocol with deload weeks thrown in there.

Oh man...I know what you mean on how hard it is to back off.....its so hard for me to back off aswell lol

I'd rather focus more on a high motor neuron movement like a behind neck press for overall delt mass, but if single joint movements work for you keep it up, boulder shoulders on anyone will make them look like a BOSS!

Amen to that! I make sure ever side and angle is hit. Like Kai Greene says, you shoulders are exposed in every pose. You can never get too wide

Shoulders make the man, that is for sure. I've pretty much relied only on heavy pressing and pulling for delts. Its pretty rare that I do any isolation work. When I do lateral raises, I always turn that pinky up though. It definitely puts a greater load on the lateral and even a little bit of rear delt activation.

As for behind the neck presses, I lack the shoulder stability/ mobility to do those. I've had over 30 shoulder dislocations and they don't like behind the neck presses or pulldowns. I can do behind the neck push jerks and split jerks though without any problem.

@ thehardone: I will be doing more of a periodization routine here in a couple weeks, when I up the calories to more of a recomp. In the mean time, i'm trying to use as high intensity as possible to keep the strength up while shedding the fat. Once i've shed about 6 more pounds of fat, I will switch to a Stone periodization program focusing on olympic lifting with an additional bench press and deadlift emphasis. Mike Stone was my professor for a while and one of the top periodization guys in the world. Can't go wrong with one of his programs.

I brought my side delts from my worst to my best bodypart rather quick by doing a TON of side laterals, all hand variations.. palms in, palms out, palms up.. etc. I did this 3X a week, 8 quick sets at the end of my workout, starting heavy.. making sure i always got 8 reps so i dropped weight accordingly.

Def gonna try this next. Always looking to enhance the shoulders!
I'm gonna PM you.

I've been a little disappointed with my rate of fat loss during the last few weeks. My weight has been going down steadily, but I felt like the fat loss hasn't been showing. I forgot that once I get to 10% or so, my body goes through a weird pattern of fat loss. I start off losing subcutaneous body fat, then my arms get leaner, next my waist gets smaller ( yet no subcutaneous body fat loss), then legs start to lean out. Then back to the top with fat loss coming from my subcutaneous belly fat, followed by my arms, and so on and so forth.

I say that to say this, I just noticed today that my legs are starting to lean out a bit, so abs should start coming in better this week or next.

Does anyone else have a set pattern of fat loss there body goes through?

Today was AWESOME!!!

Workout 1:
Body Plyos: Skips for height, skips for distance, high knees, butt kickers, and so on. (For speed, not conditioning)
Weighted Sled Sprints: 20yrdx6

Workout 2:
Squats: 365x1, 405x1, 425x1 Easy PRish, 365x7 PR, 315x8
Deadlifts: 365x1,405x1,455x1 PRish, 365x7,315x10
Leg Ext: 245x11 PR, 225x12, 205x13
GHR: 75x8 PR, 55x9, 35x12 PR

Today was such a ridiculously awesome workout. I came in with the intention of backing off and 365 being my top weight for a single on squat, then dropping down and doing reps with 315 and 275... Well 365 went up so easy, I decided to try 405, again, up easy. 425 went up without much struggle, but I decided to stop so as not to get too much CNS fatigue. It was the most weight i've done since breaking a bunch of bones back in April of last year. I am certain that I could have done 455 today.

I intended to back off on deadlifts as well, but my warm up sets felt great so i decided to keep going up till 455. Again i think i could have done 475-485. This puts my deadlift numbers right back up there with 1 year ago. By the end of deadlifts, I had a nice pump in my hams, erectors, and quads.. Once I hit my leg extensions, my legs started blowing up with blood. It was an awesome pump and I continued to hit PRs. GHR's were great today too. Felt way easier than they should have. The pump may have even been what slowed me down on these.

So stoked about this workout today. Hopefully my strength will continue to go up in this fashion for the next several weeks. I would love to be pushing around 500 on squat again. Oh and another big thing, weight is at 188 today. That puts me around 8lbs of fat loss for the month, which is right on track. Once I drop about 8 more lbs of fat, its time to start a slow bulk as i'll be at 6% bf, maybe even less.

Just a little bit about me. In two weeks i'm moving to Miami for a job training professional athletes. I already train athletes, but i'll definitely be moving up to a higher echelon of athletes at this place. I feel like athletes respect you more as a coach if you can practice what you preach and can compete with them. As of right now I can keep up with or am faster and stronger than all of my athletes. My goal is to stay ahead of, or on the same level as my athletes. Currently i can run a 4.43 laser 40yrd dash. I really want to hit the 4.3s so that I will still be faster than all my athletes. Hell, maybe I can even get someone to pick me up for a practice squad on a pro football team. Big hopes and dreams, but even if I don't get picked up or looked at, i'll still be a better athlete, and doing what I love, training the best athletes in the country.

At least she didnt ask you to do Zumba...

Haha, thank God. I've had to do it for one of my classes in college. It was actually pretty fun with several of my bodybuilding/ college athlete buddies in the class. We were all making fun of each other. It would have been terrible without them though.

Friday's Workout:

Bench: 295x4..., 275x6..., 225x16
Pull-ups: 115x5 PR,85x7,60x11 PR
Military: 150x8,140x9,130x12
Pendlays: 225x7, 205x8,185x9

I had to get this workout in quick. I've had a ridiculously busy weekend, working two jobs and trying to pack everything in order to move. My diet has been complete crap as well. I will be back on track tomorrow. This workout went pretty well after Bench press. Still don't know whats going on there. I felt strong on pull-ups. Military press went pretty well too, nothing spectacular but tied last weeks numbers. Pendlays were solid again, no increase but good sets none the less. Pumps were very nice, but nothing ridiculous because of the low volume. Next upper body day I'll do a couple higher rep sets and squeeze in some beach work for some nice pumps.

Todays first workout:

Squats: 365x1, 415x1 easy, 435xFail
Deadlifts: 315x1, 365x1, 415x1, 435x1 conventional PR

Second workout in progress...

Good work! Thats a heavy bench press for your size! Keep it up! Haven't been in here much, so whats the goal? Im assuming powerlifting, or just generally trying to get stronger?

Thanks man, it was higher a few weeks ago. I managed to get 305x5. My current goal is to maintain strength while cutting down. I did powerlifting for a while. I was working my way up to an under 23 Raw natural record of a 1380 total. Managed to get the total in the gym, then broke a bunch of bones and had to take a lot of time off from lifting.

Currently though I am trying to maintain my strength and speed, so that I can compete with the pro athletes that I train. I'm already faster than most, but I want to be faster than all. I feel like athletes respect you more if you can talk the talk AND walk the walk.

Workout 2:

Front Squat: 225x5,5,235x5 PR
RDL: 225x5,275x5,295x5,315x5 Recent PR

Two very short sessions today, but it was my birthday and I had other things to do today. During session 1, I thought for sure that I was going to get 435 easy, but I had my Oly shoes on and they pitched me forward a bit so that I was unable to complete the lift. 415 on squat felt very easy though, not much struggle at all. I hit a PR on conventional deadlifts today and I think I had a few more pounds left in the tank. With a 435 conventional, I know i'm getting close to 5 plates per side on sumo deads. Front squats felt pretty strong today and I managed to hit a PR. RDL's were very nice too. I got a good stretch in my hammies and was touching the floor on nearly every rep. No pump today, but that was because of the training, and no fault of the hemavol. Focus and motivation was there again today.

My favorite part about Maximize intense so far is that for me it doesn't crack me out at all. Instead its more like it pats me on the butt and says hey, its time to get sh*t done

I mentioned it in another post in this log, but I broke 4 bones in my face, I broke my right elbow, and my left thumb playing rugby. It happened at 4 separate points in the game. My orbital fractured and a piece was touching my optic nerve so for a while I would go blind in my right eye anytime my BP went up, so lifting was out. Obviously its hard to do upper body work with a broken ions too. I had to take almost 5 months off.

And yes, I really train pro athletes. Pretty big names that any football or baseball fan would recognize immediately if I were to list.

I've been packing up to move, as well as working a ton of hours lately. I managed to make time to workout today, but my Maximize intense and Hemavol are packed away somewhere. It will be about a week before I can use them, due to moving.

Todays Workout:

Bench: 225x3, 275x6 weak, 250x10, 225x10, 10
Pull-ups: 115x4 weak, 90x6, 45x10
Military: 115x5, 135x1, 155x1, 165x1, 175x1 weak...

That was it for the workout today. Upper body days have been pissing me off lately. Lifts are not going in the right direction. My motivation dropped out after my first working set of bench press. No pumps either today, even with the higher reps.

No hemavol and no max intense made for a sad workout today.

Ouch!

I believe ya bro haha, could you list some of the big names? Thats so awesome!

bump for updates :)

hope the move went well bro, and looking forward to the next time you use intense and hemavol. the little bit of time off from it might be a good thing since you wont be quite as used to it when you use it again (although the time off is still very brief)

Sorry for the lack of updates, packing and travelling has consumed all of my time. Waiting on association approval and interview before I can finish the move, which sucks.

I think if everything goes correctly, I will be able to workout Thursday, when I start my new job.

Did you make it to the gym?

Wow, what a freaking stressful week. Everything that could have gone wrong with getting into my new condo did go wrong. I was supposed to be moved in Monday, finally got moved in about 1 hour ago after many delays. I will be working out tomorrow, with my supps. It should be a freaking awesome workout after having over 1 week completely off.

FINALLY MADE IT TO THE GYM!

Decided, to start a new periodized training program today. Phase one is GPP.

Today:
A1) Bench: 4x6 Tempo: 4-1-4 145,155,165,185lb
A2) Ext Rotation: 3x8 Tempo: 2-1-2 2.5lb
B1) Iso Row 8 to 1: 3x16 45lb,50,50
B2) JM Press: 3x6 Tempo: 2-2-2-2 65lb,85,85
C1) Incline DB Row: 3x10 Tempo 2-1-2. 65lb,65,65
C2) Band Tri Ext: 3xFail Tempo: 2-1-2 Purple band
C3) Scap Push-ups: 3x10

Had my first workout in nearly two weeks today. It was pretty awesome. I had a ridiculous pump the entire time. The tempo training plus the hemavol was a good combination for pumps. The stim from Max Intense was a little much for me today. It made me a little sick to my stomach, since I've had 0 stimulants for the last two weeks.

Bench press was more difficult than I thought it would be, hence the low weight used. 8 to 1 iso rows are an iso row with 8 second isometric contraction followed by 2 reps, then 7 second iso contraction and 2 reps, then 6sec and 2 reps, down to 1 second iso contraction. Everything else is pretty self explanatory. Overall, this was probably the best full upper body pump I have ever had. Good Job hemavol.

A1) SL High Box Step-ups 3x8: Tempo: 211 Bodyweight
A2) 4 Way Hip Series 3x6: Black band
A3) Terminal Knee Ext: 3x10
B1) Reverse Hyper 3x10: Tempo: 313. 20lb
B2) SL Physio-Ball Bridges 3x8: 211 Bodyweight
B3) DL Physio-Ball Leg Curl 3x8: Tempo: 211

I know this workout sounds really gay, but i was already beat from working 12 hours today. There was a large focus on corrective exercises, because I'm too young to already be suffering from knee and joint pain. Despite the relatively low volume I still got a nice pump and my hams and glutes were pretty freaking fatigued by the end. Hopefully these workouts will correct some of my existing issues, and ultimately lead to greater speed and power development.

Workout 1:

Speed/ Footwork Drills: 20 sets of ten seconds and sprint out.

Backward sled jogs: 2x40 yards
Forward Sled March: 1x40 yards.

Workout 2:
Warm-up: Shoulder and Scap pre-hab
A1) DB Bench 4x6: Tempo: 313. 55,60,70,80lbs
A2) Band Assist Pull-ups 4x8: Tempo: 313. Purple band
A3) Internal/External Rotation 3x10: Tempo: 212 Red Tube
B1) Band Rows 3x8: Tempo: 313 Purple band
B2) Body Tricep Press 3x10: Tempo: 101
B3) YTW 3x10: Tempo: 333 2.5lbs

First things first, my conditioning is lacking. The guys I was training today were ragging on me hard for having to sit out a couple sets. I guess I have to start doing a lot more power endurance and conditioning work. My footwork needs some improvement too.

Workout two went really well today. I forgot to pack my maximize intense and hemavol today. My intensity was ok, but the pump was non existent. With a tempo workout like that I should have had a great pump. Hemavol definitely makes a huge difference. Tempo training makes it really hard to judge how much weight you can use. Every set felt equally as hard except for the final set of DB bench. I probably should have gone 70,75,80,85 but not sure if I would have gotten all my reps in.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a good linear acceleration followed by another lower body day. I have to get back in shape.

No time for speed work today, but I did go for a bike ride down to the beach.

Workout:

A1) Bulgarian Squat 3x6: Tempo: 212. 45lbs
A2) SL Leg Ext 3x8: Tempo: 333 50lb
A3) KB Dorsiflexion 3x8: Tempo: 313 20lb
B1) Reverse Hyper 3x10: Tempo: 212 30lbs
B2) SL Curl 3x10: Tempo: 313 40 lbs

Another workout that doesn't look like much on paper, but it was pretty painful. My VMO was firing so hard that it felt like it was cramping the whole time. Good knee health, here I come. My quads were screaming from the slow tempo and so were my hamstrings. I really thought I was going to cramp up a few times because they were so pumped up. Hemavol did a great job again. My stim tolerance is still pretty low from the time off, so I'm having to use 1/2 scoop of Max Intense, which is giving me a good clean energy without cracking me out.

After nearly two weeks off I got a little pudgy, and in just a few days I've leaned out considerably. I've bumped my fasting up to 19-20 hours a day, and its working like a charm.

Next week I'll be starting the fun lifting. I'll start off with a conjugate dynamic template for around 4 weeks, in order to really work on my speed and power. Ideally I will be doing speed work at least 4 days a week. At the very least I will be getting 3 days per week.

The next phase will be really fun to watch. I'll be undulating between high intensity and high volume, to super high intensity, followed by a week of failure training.

No lifting today, however I did some sprints for conditioning with a few of my athletes. I had to show them I've got a little bit of go in me.

30 yrd sprint x6
40 yard sprint x6
120 yard sprint x4
240 yard sprint x2
60 yard sprint x6

These were all done in random order. It was pretty freaking tough.

Thanks for the awesome log L'fighter!!!....

I thought I'd just throw this little gif in here...lame I know...bored at work :D

I'm glad you are enjoying the log so far. It should only get better from here. Unfortunately the gif won't upload for me. I don't have internet set up at my condo yet, and my phone won't let me view it.

Not sure if anyone saw my post early this morning in another thread, but I've been working a ton the past two weeks. When I say a ton, I mean ill have worked 90 hours between Monday and Friday this week... I'll be working Saturday and Sunday as well. Working out has been put on the back burner because of this.

Luckily I had a little bit of time to catch a quick lift today, and luckily I had my Maximize Intense and Hemavol on me. With the very very little sleep I've had lately, the max intense really helped me out today. It gave me a good bit of energy and focus, which I had neither of before taking it. The hemavol made for some almost painful pumps. It was a really short and sweet weight session.

Intensification Week 1 Day 1

Bench 4x5: Tempo: 212 225,235,245,255lbs
B1) Pull-ups 4x8: Tempo 313. Bw, Bw, purple, purple
B2) DB bench WIDE 4x20: Tempo: 212 45s, 45s, 45s, 40

When going for 20 reps its so painful to stay at a 212 tempo, especially once you get to about 13 reps in. The DB bench press was embarrassingly low weight, but based on how it felt, I would imagine it did its job. Regular bench felt great today. Really happy with being able to use that tempo with 255. I was happy with my pull-up strength as well.

NO WAY this workout would have happened without max intense.

Who needs sleep when you have maximize intense lol I know exactly what you mean!! I'm remodeling my house, working OT and still making it to the gym 4 days a week. I could do it with out maximize but the workouts wouldn't be intense ;)

Today I got a pretty solid speed session in with my athletes. Before the workout I had half a scoop of max intense, just to wake me up. I think I've had around 14 hours of sleep this week, because of working so much. 1/2 scoop gave me the perfect amount of energy for a speed session. I didn't want too much to where I would feel cracked out.

Workout:
20 minute dynamic warm up
30 minutes of Ankling, A-Skips, and A-Runs
5 20 yard sprints

The sprints were the thrown in at random. Good session. Sweating like crazy by the finish, and I got to run a little bit. Tomorrow I'll be getting a weight session in. It should be good. Next week I'll be able to workout normally again.

Thanks man. I always try to do my best to keep a detailed log, and stay on track with my workouts. Unfortunately the last few weeks have been insane. The final two weeks of this log will be killer. Just wait.

Your logs are always detailed! Thanks for keeping up with the log thru the hectic times!

Pretty epic speed workout today. I was dead by the time I finished.

20 min Dynamic Warm-up

Absolute speed sled marches: 1p by 50yard, 2px 60yard, 3x80, 100,100,100 yard. P=plate

Acceleration sled work: 1px 15 yards x6 reps

Hamstrings were toast after this workout. At least I'm startup g to get back in shape. Hopefully faster too.

Session 1: Speed (Agility focus)

Dynamic Warm-up: 20 minutes

Starts: 5yards x15
Cutting drillsx: 20 reps. Random cut patterns and distances.

Session 2: strength

Bench: Tempo: 21X 8x3 135,145,145,145,155,155,145, 145
A1) Iso rows 6 to 1: 60,70,70,70
A2) JM Press: 65x8,75,75,75

Two great workouts today. I had a really good speed and change of direction workout. Focused on really being able to use the medial and lateral part of the foot to cut off of. I felt fast and was cutting really well especially for wearing tennis shoes. Next time I'll throw on my cleats.

During the strength session, I was using a tendo unit for speed bench. They tell you the top speed of the bar during your lift. I was really expecting to throw around 185 at 0.9 m/s pretty easily, but apparently I'm a lot weaker/ less explosive than I thought. All sets were in the 0.8s but I did get more explosive as the sets progressed. It wasn't till the last two rounds when I hit my target speed of 0.9 m/s.

It was a very low volume session. Despite which, I had a great pump in my lats. My chest was getting a strong contraction as well. I realize that I really need to work on tricep strength badly. My JM press is extremely weak. That will be a strong focus in all upper body work.

Overall good pump and good focus. I've worked almost 60 hours in three days and the kick from maximize intense was a huge help. The pump from hemavol is still impressing me, as well as the flavor if both drinks. Very good quality products, that have became much more beneficial, and at this point NECESSARY for me to get a good lift in.

No speed session today, but I did have a solid lower body session.

Strength Session:

A1)SL Assisted High Box Squat: Tempo: 211. Green 2x8
A1)Step-ups: Tempo: 211. 2x8 95,115lbs
A2) Mid Thigh Pull: 275,295,315,335lbsx3
A3) Terminal knee extension: Tempo: 222. green band 2x10

B1) Reverse Hyper: Tempo: 323 (constant tension) 4x6 20,25,30,35
B2) Band Leg Curl: Tempo: 313. Purple, purple, green, purple
B3) KB Dorsiflexion: tempo: 222. 2x10 15,15lbs
C) Hamstring Iso holds: 30,60,90,110 degrees: 2x4sec each

Good workout today. Knees felt good. I felt strong today. MTPs felt pretty easy. I was really explosive on those. Hamstrings and quads were getting a great contraction on everything. Next week starts to get a little higher intensity. Should be able to get a speed session in tomorrow. No hemavol today, and no pumps. Coincidence?

You should still get pumps without hemavol. My guess would be you're so used to the skin busting hemavol pumps that you just didn't feel as pumped ;)

I'm sure most people feel the same as you, but I rarely get any kind of pump in the gym. Arms and shoulders are the exception. Unless I'm doing high rep work, then any body part will get a pump, generally takes A LOT for my chest though.

Really good workout today. Had a great pump from about the third set of bench till now, an hour after leaving the gym. Strength was pretty good considering the tempo and the amount of time since last going heavy. Focus was great today. Went in and killed it from start to finish. No urge to take breaks. Just wanted to get **** done. This is either the Maximize or getting 8 hours of sleep two night in a row. The nice pump was definitely a combo of the tempo and the hemavol. Good stuff. By the way, I still can't get over how good this stuff taste. Only supplement that I've thought was better tasting was Ragnorok.

Honestly probably two weeks or more. I lost a few weeks of working.out, so no hemavol or maximize during that time.

A1) Speed Squat: Tempo 21X: 10x2 225lbs
A2) Clean pulls Knee: 10x1 315 lbs
B1) Reverse Hyper: 4x30 sec
B2) Floor GH raise: 4x5 slow eccentric
B3) SL Ext: Tempo: 333 2x6E 30,40 lbs
C) sl squat: 2x5 30, 45

Good workout today. I was originally planning on doing more weight on speed squats, but I haven't really done squats in over a month, so I was a bit slow coming out of the hole. Clean pulls felt really strong today. I started from a lower position, and it felt easier than last time, which never happens. As far as pumps go, I didn't have one till the end, but it was pretty solid once I got it. Nice focus today, I had no problem staying on track.

Got a good speed session in today a couple hours after the lift. It was about 45 minutes and pretty high intensity. Everything was full speed with short breaks. Technique is starting to improve. Full speed sprints felt terrible though. I guess since I haven't done actual, full-out sprints in probably two-three months, it is to be expected. I have to keep practicing, and get that fast and smooth feeling back. Hopefully this won't take too long. Just going to keep plugging along.

Upper Strength:

Speed Bench 11X: 10x3 135,140,140,145,145,145, 150,150,150,155lbs
Iso Row 141: 4x16 45,50,55,45lbs
Band Assisted Bench 212: 225x15,15,15
DB Row 212: 3x10
Band pushdown: Green Purple 3xFailure

Awesome workout today. Speed bench was faster this week, and I went heavier. Back and tris were blown out by the end. The band assisted bench along with the band pushdowns did a number on my arms. The pump in my chest and tris was absolutely nuts today. Intensity and focus were on point again today. Still enjoying these two products. I only have about 3 uses left of each... So this log will be coming to an end soon.
