Gandalf is cooler but Dumbledore shows more magical prowess so I gotta say Dumbledore. IMO both series are legitimate literature and very well written even if one is not a fan of the subject matter.
Thatta boy.Since I am neither 12 nor a girl, I am only familiar with Gandalf to any extent beyond that the other character being a Harry Twatter reference.
Nope. Gandolf the White would mince Dummydore to shreds.Gandalf is cooler but Dumbledore shows more magical prowess so I gotta say Dumbledore. IMO both series are legitimate literature and very well written even if one is not a fan of the subject matter.
Agreed. I fail to see any reference to being 12 or female. Harry potter progressed with the original audience and while the first few books (and movies) indeed were more directed at children. However the series matured with the original audience very well and got very dark at the end. And female? Are any of the actors in the movie known for being studs? I must have missed something.
Which Gandald? Grey or white?
Either way both series are epic and will stand the test of time (LOTR already has)
despite the targeted audience both are excellent pieces of literature, HP covers a huge time line but LOTR is my fav...
the sorcery is better in dumbledore.....
i would choose dumbledore, i just meant who is your prefered wizard.....i mean even willow can crush gandalf!
hmmmm, aslan maybe?!that's a stretch.....
The answer to your question lies in the answer to another question. Who would you choose in a battle, Sauron or Voldemort?
The answer is obvious.

ehhhh......Since the authors were actual friends, I'd change the debate to something along the lines of Gandalf vs. White Witch, or Aragorn vs. Aslan.
I don't think hobbits with jewelry would stand a chance against voldermort.
And I think LOTR is better but don't be so quick to dismiss Potter. Especially if you never took the time to learn about it. I can see how making fun of Harry potter can make some one feel more manly, like driving a very large truck.
Anyways irrelevant argument since the real question is who'd win
Dobby? Or Golem ( smeegle)

Sauron as in the green dinosaur that lives in a volcano? You talkin X-Men bro?
keep this up and i will soon accuse you all of acting like type 2 loving Magic: the Gathering players.
HP has Jarvis ****er and Johnny Greenwood doing the soundtrack, LOTR only has Enya.. nuff said.![]()
Shut up and go jump off Mt. Doom!
:laugh2:
Also, that made me think of when I was in college and in our TV news course, one of the guys did a story on Dungeons and Dragons...and they actually let it air, too. Terrible (he also went on to produce other groundbreaking pieces like his expose piece on apple butter).
well yes Zep and Sabbath have their LOTR references. Zep honestly should have done a full LOTR stage show like Rick Wakeman did with King Arthur, but did they use it for the soundtrack? Nope!![]()
Haha that would have been awesome.
Hewlett Packard?? And who is this Jarvis and Johnny? They were on the cartoon network, correct?HP has Jarvis ****er and Johnny Greenwood doing the soundtrack, LOTR only has Enya.. nuff said.![]()
Why is this song title LOTR when its all clips from The Hobbit?Zep > anything else you can mention
:cool2: :yup:
Gwar should have done an LOTR stage show. That I would pay to see. Also would pay to see a stage show of Little Pig, Little Pig.well yes Zep and Sabbath have their LOTR references. That would work AGAINST any argument in the worldLol never got into the real RPG's (closet thing would be dragon warrior or Legend of the Red Dragon) but hey in Vin Diesel and Robin Williams are into it whose to argue![]()
Direct references are in Ramble On, "Twas in the darkest depths of Mordor I met a girl so fair, but Gollum and the evil one cretp up and slipped away with her", and Battle of Evermore, " The drum will shake the castle wall the wringwraths ride in black". LOTR and Led are bad ass lol.I remember reading some guys paper on own this one Zep song was all about hidden ring references like this phrase really was meaning xxxx. but compeltely blew over the actual clear as day references![]()
White Wolf > D&D
/dork
Jackass? Your reference of Gnar Kill made me think of the band Skeletor for some reason (if you don't get that reference, then you haven't seen one of the greatest cartoons of all timeI don't know why they titled it LOTR when using Hobbit clips; I imagine just for search purposes.
When you said Gwar, it made me think of Gnar Kill lol (If you don't get that band reference, you haven't seen one of the greatest films ever).

And not Jackass, but close/pretty much. It's from Haggard; a movie by the CKY guys before they got famous and did Jackass.
I've actually never seen haggard; seen all the CKY vids though
Which of the Dumbledor brothers are we talking about anyways?![]()
