Best Ways To Prevent/Cure a Hangover?!!?!?

Has anyone tryed axe recovery body wash, supposedly its for hangovers. Also does anyone know of any other body washes/shampoos/etc... that gets rid of a hangover in the shower

It has electrolytes in it but I don't think its transdermal. They make other shower tablets with eucalyptus in which sounds pretty cool for hangovers

The best way to avoid a hangover is staying up a couple hours after drinking, drink a good amount of water and eat, eat eat. If ur wasted its hard to avoid passing out but its the only thing I've found that works. A big protein shake is better than chaser, boozer, or other pre made remedies.

If I chased any alcohol drink with protein I would def vomit...lol

Water is going to help you tremendously, make sure to drink a lot before you go to bed as well as when you wake up. I always find eating a banana or something healthy carbohydrate before going to bed helps with the nausea in the morning as well. Also drinking Gatorade the next day should help because of the electrolytes. Hope this helps! Have fun on your trip and good luck! :)

been reading a lot about how majority of the coconut water companies don't have the amount of electrolytes/potassium that they claim. What brands are legit?

The best hangover cure, in my opinion, is Yerba Mate. Don't buy it in tea bags, it's much less effective. Purchase a gourd & mate straw and buy the mate in bulk. It's not instant, but it's damn close.

Drinking water in between drinks certainly helps, but I've found that requires an exceptional number of trips to the restroom, which is no good when you're running game on floozies :D

Interesting. When do you take? How much do you use? and do you just mix it with water and drink it?

Yerba Mate is like tea. You put the mate in the gourd ~2/3 of the way, add hot water to the brim, let it sit for a few minutes, and drink when it's not too hot.

You can continually add water to the same serving of mate...it's not like reusing a tea bag. I just drink until my hangover is gone.

I'm very experienced when it comes to having horrible hangovers. Drinking lots of water water and eating salty food (burgers) before bed - and staying awake an hour or two after coming home from clubs - works wonders.

First and foremost, be hydrated...Drink at least a gallon of water the night before. Also the next day, Potassium and Electrolytes are key. I would drink a gatorade and eat a peanut butter banana sandwich ;-) Literally cures me right after I finish them both! And I went to the #1 Party School in the nation. lol

I've found the best thing are these electrolyte tabs called FIZZ. I take two before bed and two more spread throughout the night when i wake up to piss. No hangover.

Still say Poseidon is a major product to use for hangover prevention and cure. Heck that's what it was designed for.

New Year's Day Hangover Cure (tested and works)

1 x 16oz can unsweetened coconut water
1 x 8oz cup of yerba mate (this was in a tea bag, which I strongly dislike)
1 x Kale Protein Shake (1/2 cucumber, lots of kale, almond milk, ginger, protein)
1 x 10mg astaxanthin softgel (also contains some vitamin E) - Protocol for Life brand
3 x Pure Encapsulations Athletic Nutrients capsules

Worked very well and I drank at least 14 oz of whiskey on NY, although it was after a meal of legendary proportions.

I will report back with any new successful combos after this weekend.

Nice Stack

I don't drink heavy anymore, but I'll sub for ideas just in case.

That's right! Drink lots of water or rehydrating drink. That's because the ethanol in what you drink causes increase urine production that results to dehydration, which in turn, causes headache, fatigue and dry mouth.

If it didn't help you, you can eat eggs to combat the symptoms , and you can also try a spoonful of baking soda mixed in water. If you can, try to do some exercise to raise your metabolism that clears toxins. Because exercise brings oxygen to your cells, it will increase the speed of detoxifying harmful compounds.

Does anybody have any remedies for the sour/destroyed stomach after a night of drinking?

As Spaniard said, baking soda and water. I have a buddy who will only drink whiskey, it upsets his stomach so he throws baking soda into warm water and chugs it. Gross but he swears by it.

Yea it has something to do with alkalizing you blood ( similar to apple cider vinegar) but when would you dose? Before or after drinking?

I've never had one. Always wanted to know how it feels like.

Consider yourself lucky. Some of them are debilitating.

I don't believe it when my BFF tells me that she blacks out from drinking. I'm like how do you not remember what you did?!

Some people I know, mainly friends from college, thought of a hangover as a badge of honor. I never shared that perspective. Some still hold it.

One thing to consider is Mango. Mango has an enzyme acetylaldehyde dehydrogenase. Acetylaldehyde is what really wacks us out from drinking and mango supplies us with additional enzyme to flush it out. Consider L-glutamine as well. During drunken sleep the body halts products of glutamine, the most abundant AA in the body. Although be cautious glutamine at that point can act like a stimulant hence why some people get shakey from rebound.

Is their any other food or supplement that has a acetylaldehyde dehydrogenase ?

i know the polyphenols in green tea have been shown to break it down. The best I can tell you is search the web.
If you ever wondered why asians are "allergic" to alcohol or get the "asian flush" it's because they are genetically deficient in this enzyme.

Oh, this is a nice simply stated summary of the whole to-do Invalid Link Removed

Best way to cure a hangover is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a Gatorade. That really gets your body in the right place fast. I love this combo does really well for me.
