GUT CHECK! Gettin my system top notch with Gut Health (Sponsored)

I can agree with that. Even if you are feeling some kind of "fade of effects" thats more than likely because youre creating a new normal flora for yourself. The effects were just from the change in microbiotic inhabitants - now they're normal happenings for you.

I did 2 days of 2 caps, its not necessary to re-load. They grow on their own.

I loved catching up on this log, my computer had been in the shop for a few days. Agree with Dodge, the science is phenomenal - I'm learning a lot! Kudos!

It is crazy how after the first bottle a bottle at 1 cap a day will last for 35 days!

A whole reload probably wouldn't be necessary at all but sometimes its nice to try even if for just a day or two, kind of hard to placebo your gut to lol

Thank you, sir. That's why I was really excited to log this. First of all it pertains to my profession and second I've never tried a Genomyx product before.

I'm finding an enhanced response to certain foods and meals. For example, I havent been eating much red meat lateky but put it back into my diet on a every other day basis. Usually it sits pretty heavy in my system and takes much more work to digest but I really haven't felt much stress from it. Another example would be when I eat almonds or walnuts. Nuts can be harsh on the GI but I havent felt that digestive stress that could come about.

This is excellent, Genomyx doesn't skimp on quality man. Hows protein handling? Like thick shakes I mean

Bro I like to get crazy with my blender. I liek my shakes with substance but theyre never exactly ice cream frosty status. Although I really should go all in and see what happens - if it shocks my system negatively or if Ill manage it fine. You know... whole milk, Trutein, peanut butter, oats, and blueberries with crushed ice and granola... something MASSIVE!

Lawl I hear yah, me I like something simple:Banana Myo, Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Sauce and whole milk but occasionally do go balls out like you said when I'm using Vanilla Myo. Those big bags of frozen fruits can be put to good use in a blender :D

Now that I dont gotta fear the protein (thanks to gut health), I can make some AWESOME shakes again! Not too often (dont wanna kill um all off) but now i dont have to completely STOP drinking it.

I was reading an interview with Franco Columbo one time and he was talking about the kinds of shakes he used to make: whey, whole milk, oats, eggs, lentils, peanut butter, and banana. He said sometimes it took him a full 5 minutes to finish and he had to stand over the sink the whole time and take small gulps. Then he went on to describe how he was late for an appearance at a show and rushed the process. He felt so stuffed getting in the car he had to fight with the seat belt for a few minutes to get himself seated. At one point he had to stop short because the car in front of him hesitated at a yellow light and slammed on the breaks. The inertia was powerful enough to squeeze the seatbelt to make him puke the shake all over his dashboard and windshield. LMAO!!!:chairfall:

OMFG... i dont make um THAT thick lol.

I have a hand held blender that works great. I like to make a weight gainer with casein, oats, and olive oil. The casein makes them thick and I have to chew the oats, but its like a liquid cookie to me. and I can completely manipulate my macros.

Olive oil? Sounds nasty lol

Whenever Dodge runs a test booster, he purposefully doesn't run Gut Health so that after he tears it up he farts. A lot. His girlfriend told me.

Lol the Triazole is doing me well right now but unfortunately its the time of year when the cardio bunnies fill the gym, my patience is losing its mind

It adds a strange texture and flavor but at this point I kinda like it. I ripped ass in the gym today... it was baaaad. lol, I think it was the brusselsprouts.

I mix it and drink it right away spooning oats (ground up in a coffee grinder) into my mouth.

I like the crop dusting style. I just keep walking away....

As long as we're on the mention of thick, delicious shakes (which Gut Health allows us to ingest without...well punishing Dodge's girlfriend)...

For me, Arctic Zero ice cream+protein+oats+PB+frozen fruit = faptastic

Yesterday seemed like a good idea to have a latte as some morning coffee before my work out. I know I know, how masculine of me.

As Ive metnioned before Im not big on milk consuption and my insides started rumbling from this. Did not sit well at all. At no point in time did I feel uncomfortable but i could feel everything turning, it was a bit strange.

On the other hand that Giants/49ers game was the only game worth watching. Went to my local spot and grabbed a burger with some fries. An hour later Im still hungry... so i get wings. But I'm still hungry... I get chicken tenders. Maaaan I went in HARD yesterday.

The milk thing I should've noted in my log (BAD ME), but I mentioned being able to consume casein again. And I used to drink it and then have mean stomach discomfort/pain/gas. Now I drink a casein shake and i only get those "rumblings" like you mentioned. NO pain, discomfort, or anything. I just ordered 3 more bottles... haha. I love it!

I feel bad for those sensitive to milk. I know how hard it can be on people. I on the other hand am not bothered by it at all and a gallon lasts me a day or two. I just chug it from the gallon all day.

I posted this on another thread about L.Casei Invalid Link Removed It mentions the effects of L. Casei reducing lactose intolerance.

Same here, love me some whole milk :D

Was a great Giants game for sure, too bad they couldn't pull it out. I still have high hopes for em this year :)

Your chicken finger extravaganza day makes me want chicken fingers!

Good time to bring up this update: so i decided I wanted to try out cottage cheese. I see a lot of people using it in their diet and got curious. I am NOT a fan of dairy, I just seem to avoid it. Not because I can't stomach it but because I don't like things processed like that but at this point I think it would create some issues as Im not used to it.

So I had cottage cheese fat free for the last two days. First of all, yuck. I got used to it the second time around but at first I was really not enjoying it. So now the digestion: I'm expecting to feel my insides toss and turn like a teenage boy having nightmares about Sandusky in the shower... nope. Felt fine. No bloaty discomfort, difficulty passing, or foul smells. At first I lacked some appetite following but I think that was more mental on my end. I'll give it a couple more days and see what the verdict is on keeping it in. If I do - going low sodium... 460mg per serving is wack.

Cottage cheese is a good source of casein which may be while you feel full. I use it as a night time snack on days my hunger keeps me up. It makes me feel full as well.

Impressive that your stomach was fine. I am very used to dairy but cottage cheese can get to me sometimes though.

I found that the high sodium content is whats to my dislike - so Im goin with the no salt added version.

Popped 2 gut health in preparation for yesterdays onslaught to my GI. Ate my normal breakfast of 6 egg whites w/ spinach and 1c steel cut oats. When i got to work they had some brakfast goods for us, then I got free thanksgiving lunch, then a co-worker gave me her pass so i got a second, went to my uncles house and stuffed my face with the plethora of deliciousness at my fingertips. Went home with my belly in full size. When I got home it was almost time for bed and Im hungry again, so I ate another 6oz of chicken with some veggies and called it a night. Jumped 4.4 lbs lol

Great day. I actually get way more hungry hours after huge meals. I had crazy hunger pains last night. And when I woke up today.

Did you notice any effects regarding gut health with over stuffing yourself? It can be a difficult comparison because it's not something you probably do often. I noticed I never went into that food coma this year. Even though I did eat enough to show some bloat afterwards. But it went away pretty quickly.

In contest prep for food eating competitions they just eat a hell of a lot food. :D

Just think of thanksgiving day as a universal refeed day, its for the best :p

I really thought I was gonna put myself into a food coma but it didn't happen. I just felt really full. I used to love eating huge meals but dont enjoy it anymore, I know what its like to go into a food coma. At no point did I feel like I couldn't keep eating.

By the way - nixing the cottage cheese. I broke out into hives or something two days ago. This **** sucks!!!!!

Food coma's are great if you don't have anything to do. I had to work thanksgiving. That really sucks about the cottage cheese. Sorry to hear that, I like light cheese sticks as a night time snack 2-3 yields 12-18g of protein and around 120-180 cals. (at least the brand I get) maybe you won't have such a reaction, but if it's lactose induced then you may be SOL.

Horay for prednisone.

The allergist said its presenting itself more like a type 4 reaction like a poison ivy and less like the type 1 which is usually hives. Makes sense as Benadryl and hydrocortisone do nothing. I looked at the cultures in the product and a few of them are in Gut Health so it couldnt be the bacteria themselves. Maybe I have a mild allergy to lactose that just builds overtime? Further testing to be continued.

Keep us informed I am interested to see how it pans out! This has been a fantastic log so far!

That sucks dude, any history of these sort of reactions? Maybe it was bad cheese? Let us know how you cope with it amigo

60mg of prednisone daily is making for a quick recovery. Hell of a dose. I have had other allergic reactions like this. Looking back at it, this isn't a food allergy. A food allergy would have stimulated a histamine response (Type I) and I would have broken into hives immediately from the first time eating it. Anti-histamines like Benadryl or hydrocortisone cream would have shown a better response but they did nothing for me. It would also have died down within a couple days. I might have had some internal breathing troubles or fever too but that's not the case.

This is clearly a cell-mediated (Type IV) hypersensitivity immune response. I came in contact with something that set off my immune system. I have a few of these: cat dander, hay, urushiol (poison ivy oil), and some fabric softener I can't remember. The first time a person encounters the agent they have no reaction. Instead, the body recognizes the antigen as a foreign substance and then builds an army of T-lymphocytes for any subsequent exposure. It's completely independent of immunoglobulins, it's not a B-cell reaction like other immune classifications. This is a delayed response where cytotoxic T-cells (T8-lymphocytes) have a receptor specific for an antigen (like urushiol) that catches onto epidermal cells and thinks them as foreign therefore releasing chemicals to induce apoptosis (cell death). And now you're in pain.

Immunology is interesting.

Damn that sucks!! I have a REALLY bad gluten reaction but your reaction is WAY worse.
Hopefully you recover ASAP. Don't touch the cottage cheese anymore lol. (That was the cause I assume? Hows you and Casein? )
Dam

Could of been anything around the holidays if you were in foreign house holds. Maybe clean your clothes again amigo :o

Let us know when everything is back to normal, thanks for the education tho :D

Felt really bloated today. Had to do some naked posing for my neighbor's photography class and Im pretty sure I skipped a meal from not feeling hungry. She got some good photos of me though - i may be bulky but I look pretty damn good.

Holy **** really? Sounds kind of interesting lol

Yeah it was weird I didn't eat anything, or at least I dont think I did, that would cause my system to back up. Today I was real gassy in getting all of it out. Feel pretty good now. My friend's mom cooked for us today too: coconut lamb, chicken, and damn I love her roti. Maybe he's a skinny Trini but I would be fat as hell if I lived there.

Was the "bulkiness" contributed to a hot female in the class... Or did you mean to refer to your stomach bloating?

And I LoVE lamb one of my absolute favorite things.

A little shameless self promotion for another Gut Health consumer

it's a tough one to log, to be sure... not as boring as a multi-vitamin (yes, some companies offer this) and not as exciting as a heavily-stimulated pre-workout. in order to fully realize GH's benefits, the user must be physiologically aware. meaning, there are benefits aside from correcting digestive/GI issues as GH would play a role from optimizing digestion/nutrient uptake all the way to mood/cognitive benefits.

there have been a couple of instances of users with high stimulant tolerances that cite improved response after GH usage.

link to your log?

Funny I thought this was anecdotal but after incorporating GH back into my regime I do notice everything some favorable effects....it's absolutely amazing how paramount stomach health correlates with optimal hormone function, blood sugar and giving that good ole' favorite stim a spark again that might have been missing for some time....staple for now on.

Absolutely. If Gut Health were to help you absorb more nutrient and ease the process for more difficult substances the same should hold true for supplementation. They still go down the same way.

I've never had digestion issues persay but I know the stress that I've been dealing with lately has my gut and digestion not at it's optimal....one way I know my digestion is back in check is after I eat a meal ( like Steak and Rice ) I get that warm feeling, so this is a good thing and not to mention I noticed my usual 1 cap of slin sane 15 mins kicked in a little earlier and I could eat about 20-30 grms more carbs without compromise, very cool. So I guess that this is a mini review in a pretty kick ass review / log thread.

Agreed I never really thought I had any issues with digestion. It wasn't until I tried gut health and noticed I looked way better due to the reduction of bloating. Especially from drinking milk. It's easier for me to keep bulking strict and lean if I don't bloat up.
