Supplements and giving blood for my son's surgery

I did a quick search and it looks like most of the threads dealt with giving blood while on a cycle. Does anyone know how long various supplements stay in your blood? My 14 month old is having neurosurgery in December and I would like to donate blood for his procedure. Current supplements are Anavite, Fish Oil, Assualt, Xtend, Myofusion, and I would like to start DAA/Erase. Is there anything I need to cycle off of before his surgery and give blood.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I would stop taking everything now. Donating blood to a 14 month old is very serious, and holding off on supplements for 2 more months should not be a big deal. Especially if its your son.

Its tough. We still have 2 months before his surgery. He has a small head circumference and his soft spots closed early. A pediatric neurosurgeon and a pediatric plastic surgeon will remove parts of his skill so his brain has room to expand. I cant remember what its called, mesa somethng or other, I admit I am scared and would rather not face it. My wife is the one doing all the reasearch and showing me pictures of kids who had it done.

He will have it at UNC Hospital. We wanted the date moved up because now he is throwing up several times a day and we think he is experiencing headaches because he holds his head and cries alot.

I have lurked on this site for a while and when it came up about Ridge needing blood for the procedure I wanted to donate. Both of my boys are daddy's boys but Ridge is something special to me. he carries my grandfather's name, who adopted me and raised me.

Thank you all for your advice, both here in my post and on the forum.

You son and family are in my thoughts. More than likely, this is a condition your son was born with where the skull plates fuse earlier, when the brain is growing at a rapid rate. Don't do the worrying, let the surgeons and physicians do there job, they do this for a living.

I personally, wouldn't take any further supplements. How you checked to see if you are a compatible donor? I work in a Level III NICU as a nurse and many parents think that because it is there kid, they can donate the blood because there blood matches, which is not always true.
