Engineer Sees Evidence of Extreme Temperatures in WTC Steel

A structural engineer who was a member of the team assembled by the American Society of Civil Engineers to investigate the World Trade Center site after 9/11 has described numerous phenomena indicating extremely high temperatures suffered by the WTC structural steel. This appears to be further evidence that high-temperature explosives, such as thermate, were used to bring down the towers.
Dr. Abolhassan Astaneh-Asl is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of California at Berkeley, who specializes in studying structural damage done by earthquakes and terrorist bombings. He flew to New York on September 19, 2001 to conduct a two-week reconnaissance of the collapsed towers, hoping to gain an understanding of how they'd come down. He was able to examine numerous pieces of steel taken from Ground Zero. [1]
He said the towers were exceptionally well designed and built, describing the WTC as "the best-designed building I have ever seen." [2] Yet the structural steel had suffered unusual warping and other major damage:
Astaneh-Asl said that steel flanges "had been reduced from an inch thick to paper thin." [3]
At a recycling center in New Jersey, he saw 10-ton steel beams from the towers that "looked like giant sticks of twisted licorice." [4] He showed the San Francisco Chronicle a "banana-shaped, rust-colored piece of steel" that had somehow "twisted like toffee during the terrorist attack." [5]
He noted the way steel from the WTC had bent at several connection points that had joined the floors to the vertical columns. He described the connections as being smoothly warped, saying, "If you remember the Salvador Dali paintings with the clocks that are kind of melted--it's kind of like that." He added, "That could only happen if you get steel yellow hot or white hot--perhaps around 2,000 degrees." [6]
In an interview in 2007, Astaneh-Asl recalled, "I saw melting of girders in [the] World Trade Center." [7]
He found a foot-long twisted shard of steel that was "like a piece of bread, but it was high-strength steel." He commented, "I haven't seen anything like this [before]." [8]
He came across "severely scorched [steel] members from 40 or so floors below the points of impact [by the planes]." [9]
The fireproofing that had been used to protect the WTC steel also showed evidence of extreme conditions. In some places it had "melted into a glassy residue." [10]
Astaneh-Asl saw a charred I-beam from WTC Building 7--a 47-story skyscraper that collapsed late in the afternoon of 9/11, even though no plane hit it. "The beam, so named because its cross-section looks like a capital I, had clearly endured searing temperatures. Parts of the flat top of the I, once five-eighths of an inch thick, had vaporized." These observations indicate that the World Trade Center steel was subjected to very high temperatures. Yet, while postulating that the towers collapsed due to fire (and without the use of explosives), even Thomas Eagar--an engineering professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology--admitted, "The temperature of the fire at the WTC was not unusual, and it was most definitely not capable of melting steel." [12] One must conclude that the phenomena observed by Astaneh-Asl are therefore highly suspicious.
It may well have been because it offered such revealing clues that the remaining structural steel from the World Trade Center was so rapidly destroyed, being shipped abroad as scrap to be melted down and recycled. CBS News described: "The [cleanup] operation--which began days after the collapse, okayed by then-New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani--goes on 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As a result, Astaneh has almost certainly missed seeing crucial pieces before they were cut up and sent overseas." [13] As the New York Times reported, the steel scrap was worth "only a few million dollars, a tiny fraction of the billions of dollars the cleanup" was going to cost. Yet the knowledge that could have been gained from it "could save lives in a future disaster." [14] NOTES

The CIA has issued legal threats against two film producers who have discovered intimate details of a cover up regarding the intelligence agency and two of the purported 9/11 hijackers.
Ray Nowosielski and John Duffy, the producers of the popular 9/11 documentary ’9/11 Press for Truth’, were contacted by the CIA last week on September 8th regarding extensive research, interviews and findings that have led them to discover the identities of two key CIA analysts who were instrumental in the conspiracy.
The film’s producers initially only referred to the CIA analysts by their first names, but expressed their intention to later reveal their full identities in a forthcoming “investigative podcast”, which seemingly prompted the agency to step in.

A new piece of legislation being backed by the National Association of Security Companies (NASCO) would encourage Americans to frivolously snitch on each other by providing legal protection for people who report “suspicious behavior” to the authorities.
“The National Association of Security Companies (NASCO) today endorsed the See Something, Say Something Act (H.R. 963), by Congressman Lamar Smith (R—21st District Texas), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, calling it sensible policy that expands protections against lawsuits for individuals who provide good faith reports of suspicious terrorist-related activity to an authorized official. The legislation will further encourage citizens to take an active role in reporting suspicious activity without fear of legal retribution,” Invalid Link Removed.
The bill (Invalid Link Removed) seems designed to do little else than encourage Americans to frivolously report each other to the authorities for any reason. If someone was certain that they were witnessing suspicious behavior that was likely related to the commission of a terrorist attack, the knowledge that they would have legal protection for reporting the incident would be the last thing on their mind.

The Deputy Director of NYC Emergency Services department states there were explosions inside building 7 both before and WTC 1 + 2 ever even went down. He also reported that there were dead bodies in WTC7. Thats correct, they are masters of manipulation, and they have manuals on propaganda tactics, psych-ops, and professionals for this in the field. A lot of what has been said here is my issue, specifically building 7. Someone I work with, who is a close personal friend, worked in 7. We have spoken at great lengths about that day and what he saw. I also specifically asked him about the truthers. He becomes enraged, as he has said to me several times, he saw no bodies, heard and saw no explosions. Personally, knowing him as well as I do, I trust him implicitly and there is no reason he would lie to me.

I know you trust your friend and that he did not hear explosions, but these are very well documented by numerous people including wtc workers (in particular in the sub-basement where also people died prior to collapse,) firemen and policemen including multiple accounts from that morning itself on news clips before the towers ever went down. I believe your friends story, there is no reason he would lie but at a crime scene we need to account for multiple witnesses. Your friend may have not been in WTC7 the same time Barry Jennings was in the building, or at the same part of the building where the dead bodies were. All is a chaotic situation, I understand. My sister was at the trade center during the terrorist attack of 93, she doesnt even remember the conversation she had about the event with me on the phone that day, she doesnt even remember talking to me at all and we talked for more than just a few minutes. What Im trying to say is, its quite a chaotic environment, and people will respond differently also people were at different parts of the building as well, at different times, and have a different perspective to tell based on their own level of awareness during a time of "flight and response" is kicking in the human body. What we do have is multiple accounts on video, on record, on that day. Many of these accounts are hidden from the public on mainstream television, and NIST is still holding alot of footage from the American public, but with the freedom of information act some revealing footage has been released this past year (such as firefighters speaking of multiple explosions).

A 9-11 rescue worker recently came forward to say he was told by FBI agents to “keep my mouth shut” about one of the “black boxes” a fellow firefighter helped locate at ground zero, contradicting the official story that none of the flight and ****pit data recorders were ever recovered in the wreckage of the World Trade Center (WTC) towers.
Honorary firefighter Mike Bellone claims he was approached by unknown bureau agents a short time after he and his partner, Nicholas DeMasi, a retired New York firefighter, found three of the four “black boxes” among the WTC rubble before January 2002.
The pair first claimed in an August 2003 book entitled Behind the Scene: Ground Zero to have found the data recorders.
DeMasi said the “black boxes” were found while he traversed “ground zero” in his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) with three federal agents.
FBI and New York fire officials have denied ever finding the voice and data recorders.
Now Bellone claims agents were adamant about keeping the discovery a secret.
“They confronted me and told me to not to say anything,” recalled Bellone, referring to one of three reddish-orange boxes with two white stripes he saw in the back of DeMasi’s ATV. “I said, ‘Give me a good reason.’ When they couldn’t, I told them I wouldn’t shut up about it.
“Why should I? I have nothing to hide and nothing to gain. It’s the truth, and Nick and I are sticking to our story as we always have.”
Bellone said he and DeMasi were not the only 9-11 rescue workers to see the “black boxes.” He said there were several other witnesses and said he knows they have been silenced by federal agents.
“I know two or three others saw what went down, but they are not talking,” said Bellone. “They got to those guys after they talked to me. The only reason I can figure they are trying to hide the truth is that the government knows it screwed up, and the recorders would prove it.”

Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura’s Dec. 9 broadcast of Conspiracy Theory ended with a major disclosure. Not only did recovery and rescue worker Mike Bellone reiterate earlier 2004 claims that the FBI had recovered three of the four “black boxes” from Ground Zero of the World Trade Center, but he also quoted a supervisor for American Airlines Flight 11.
This woman monitored the actual live transmissions emanating from this airliner; and according to her, the “hijackers” were already in the plane’s ****pit prior to takeoff. Further, she claimed others on the ground were fully aware of this situation while Flight 11 taxied on the runway, and they still allowed it to take off.
Initially, Bellone promised to produce this employee for Ventura, but she declined an interview at the last minute out of fear for her life. After having her house, car and cell phone bugged, federal officials frightened her into not talking. Bellone also divulged that FBI officials told him not to discuss this matter with the media.
Could this startling revelation be the reason why 9-11 Commission members determined that no black boxes had been located in the rubble? If the American public listened to these recordings and heard Arabic (as well as English) being spoken in the ****pit before take-off, the entire scam would be revealed.
September 11 may be the first time ever in the history of recorded flight where four black boxes completely vanished, Cloonan replied, “So what?”
Airline investigative expert Dave Leppard also acknowledged that he’d never once been at a crash site where the black boxes (actually orange) had not been discovered. He then proceeded to describe how these very distinct, bright orange boxes made out of titanium are virtually indestructible.“The odds are almost zero percent that they’re not found,” he concluded.
Journalist Dave Lindorff next weighed in by recounting a meeting he had with NTSB officials. After inquiring whether the FBI had secured these devices, he was asked, “Do you want the real answer, or the official answer?” An official then disclosed that all four boxes were in the FBI’s possession. Lindorff summarized the great trick played on us.
“Investigators found fingernail-sized shards of bone to identify the victims, yet we’re to believe that all four black boxes are still missing?” [The four six-ton engines from flights 11 and 175 also vanished, according to the government.—Ed.]
Mike Bellone, who worked at Ground Zero for 257 straight days, actually saw one of the recovered boxes three to four weeks after the WTC collapses, and personally witnessed the FBI loading this equipment onto a tractor-trailer. He also referred to New York City firefighter Nicholas Demasi, who claims to have been present when “locaters” found two other boxes.
Why hasn’t the public been made aware of these groundbreaking developments? Ventura stated pointblank, “Government officials knowingly destroyed all the evidence at that crime scene. They got rid of every shred of evidence. They melted it down, built ships out of it, or put it on a boat to China.”

I wouldnt take that as him being honest or dishonest, but more of a opportunist. Although may feel there were ethical issues with the way he was promoting the book, all his charges were dropped, and all his records of charges were destroyed by the District Attorney. What we have here seems to be a man of imperfections, and temptations although I would by far not classify him as evil. Its possible he could be outright lying and made it all up to sell a book, we dont know but without evidence against his public testimony we cannot say for certain.
I would take what he says with a grain of salt, 1 witness to the black box isnt enough to come to conclusions. His account should still be recorded and posted in the thread imo. One thing Im 99% certain of is that I dont believe the passport escaped the hijackers pocket onto the street, and I do not believe the government didnt find any of the 4 NYC black boxes leading me to speculate certain cover up. What cover up? No conclusive answers for sure to this point.

CNBC reporters receiving eyewitness accounts thought that a third plane had hit the South Tower before it collapsed, such was the veracity of the “explosion” that occurred at the base of the building immediately prior to the tower falling.
Also found another video of a eye witness who claims a bomb hit the lobby first prior to the plane hitting the building.
