The perfect protein bar: why nobody's making it?

Mine is a legit question, I'm genuinely curious about this.

Being in a low-to-no carb diet all year round I always look for something
to snack on that doesn't contain carbs. When I'm home I can make my
99% protein brownie (2 scoops of whey, 1 white egg, water, microwave)
but when I'm out it ain't gonna work.. no wrap, it gets messy..

So I went the protein bars way but BOTH bars (diff brands) that I enjoyed
eating and that had only 2gr of net impact carbs (on 85gr of bar!)
have been discontinued over the past 4 months..

This is what I don't understand, obviously it appears to be no market for
such products because they keep discontinuing bars which have no carbs
and no sugar, but there's a shedload of them loaded 15/25gr of sugar,
nasty fats and everything..

Quested bars seem good enough but they're pretty much impossible to get in EU

I mean, protein bars seem - to me - a product that would mostly be used by people like me,
always dieting and looking for the least amount of carbs and sugar on anything
as opposed to whoever does bulking and have a way higher daily calories intake,
am I wrong? Companies please explain it to me.. what am I missing here?

AND, someone *please* make a protein bar that has no carbs, and no sugar,
lil fats. It does not need to taste overly sweet, I/we never eat sugar so anything
slightly sweet is gonna taste great

You make the bar, I promise I'm gonna buy so many to cover the entire production cost lol

Am I the only one on this? :)

yeah, as far as true low carb bars go, the selection is few and far between. Quest bars are probably the best option out there. You can go the Adkins bar route, which taste really good but contains a crap ton of sugar alcohol(minus much protein at all) but that's not really suited for an active bodybuilding person.

Yes the peak body 50 aren't bad, but still way too high in carbs for me. I eat 30gr a day on workout days.. 10 of them going for one bar
is still too much :/ bah

I learned to follow your advices so far ahah BTW, two days ago I did the mini-clean-refeed, a lil b it of natty pb and a cup of
fat free ***e yogurt with whey. Much better than the last time :)

I wanna hear more about this 99% protein brownie recipe....
It's super easy and it's a sanity savior for me:

- 1/2 cup of water,
- 2 scoops of your fav whey (note, you might need some
experiment here, some of them are great in the shaker but won't make a good "brownie"..),
- 1tps of Z-Sweet,
- 1 egg white
mix 'em up with a fork for a min

In my microwave is 1min 50 second exact, again, you might need some experiment
because it depends on what standard temp your oven is, really few seconds more or less make
a whole lot of different in its consistency.

Then put it in the freezer for about 5 min, ready. I like it when it's still a bit warm, there's a layer of
liquid, warm chocolate (whey) at the bottom that it really make it look and taste like it was bad for you
Cook it too much and it'll come out too dry, too lil, liquid.. so as I said, a bit experimenting with the timing

99% protein. Technically IS your whey shaker, but it much better looking and it will fill you up
Ima post a picture of it tonight, when yousee it.. you'll **** brix :D

Ive been snacking on Detour bars it says 2g net carbs but im not sure on the validity of that as i don't honestly know how sugar alchohol affects blood glucose levels. All i know is these bars are delicious i grab the lower sugar ones and they literally taste like snickers 340 cals 30g protein probally not the healthiest but as long as they truely are 2g net carbs and taste the way they do i'll keep buying them.

No prob :)
when in such strict diet you've got to find something
to look forward eating
Like I said this one is technically your whey shaker in a different
form, so you can eat two of them if you take 4 scoops of whey a day.
Altho', since is kinda slow to be digested (also due to the egg white) I wouldn't
get it pwo. I usually leave it for the last meal/pre bed, it makes a good end of the day

now I only wish some company would wrap this up in bar form
because I can't take this with me

MMMM that looks quite good im going to have to try to make those seems kinda simple and healthy. Its true no companies make perfect protein bars they all have errors because most target the general public too so they have to make them taste good and we all know making stuff taste good usually makes things less healthy. I just don't know if there is the market for perfect or "Ideal" protein bars for bodybuilders since theyd probally take a bit more $ to make then ones out nowadays and the prices are already pretty high.

Yeah, unfortunately very true.. :/
Let's hope someone company hears us here and get on it :D

Anyways, the protein brownie tastes pretty awesome,
once you find the right protein (we all have different taste so, experiment..)

It takes a total amount of 4 minutes to make and 10 to be ready to be eaten
Make sure you add the egg white otherwise the microwave will dry off the whole thing

This will never happen, the reason why most protein bars suck is because they have to last on the shelf. Many of the ingredients that would like to be in protein bars often aren't due to spoilage or short shelf life. I encourage you to check out Quest Protein Bars since they are thee best on the market right now. Unless you enjoy making your own, then there are other options.

It makes sense, unfortunately..

Yes I'd be all over Quest bars, but they are almost impossible to find in EU - for the best of my knowledge -
I asked a couple of stores I usually buy sups from, they use to carry them but they've been out of stock
forever
The best ones more consistently available around here are the Peak Body

Now, on the other hand I have made bars from grinded oats, protein, nuts, and chocolate and they have kept just fine. A little dry, but not bad. unfortunately, theres added carbs there.

Instead of oats sub ground flax seed. Worth a shot and keeps it low carb.

flax is equivalent to soy in my opinion. I try to stay away from it.
