lol, impressive! That's exactly what it is. I have my own home gym but still like to actually go to the gym anyways cause I feel that I get a much better workout in. I don't have the same distractions, I have more equipment options, and I made myself get ready and go there so I'm already motivated, just need to finish it off! BTW, you'll like the red rasp.

Yah and I find the taste is stellar when I let it dissolve...

So basically.. prepare it way in advance of taking it.. haha

Exactly....

Yeah, it's one drawback but it works! I already prepped my next one last night. I put it in a shaker cup and then stuck it in the fridge overnight. Having it that cold and well devolved was quite refreshing.

On one interesting note, I follow another of Layne's suggestions. In the middle of the night when I wake up about halfway through because I have use the bathroom (thankyou pre-bed casein shake), I have a dose of BCAA's before I go back to bed. I usually have my BBS Meta-BCAA's because it's absolutely disgusting and NEVER mixes well. So every night before I go to bed I just put it in about 4-6 oz of water and shake the crap out of it. No matter what I do or how much water I use or how long I let it sit, it still never dissolves. So the night before last I did this, and I've come to put the other .5 scoops of bcaa's in from another brand to try and help the mixability and mellow out the overwhelming nasty taste. Nothing solves it but it does make it to where I can pound it out without gagging. So, the night before last I put the extra half scoop in of RecoverPro, figured what the heck. That night I didn't drink it cause I was so tired I slept right through. So it sat there on the counter in the shaker cup for over a full day and yet never dissolved (the recoverpro did but the BBS never does). So I drank that last night when I got up and to my surprise, the RP actually took the edge off and mellowed it out enough that I didn't gag on it! I think I found my new mixture to finally finish off that tub. Can't waste product!

Getting ready to go hit legs today. Will update later. Anything anybody want to see or have me try with the RP?

i like the idea of bcaa's at night....Might have to try that.

i like the idea of bcaa's at night....Might have to try that.

yeah, he made perfect sense when he talked about why it was needed. I mean, working out and when we sleep are our most catabolic states. I don't have the desire of making a protein shake in the middle of the night, not the desire of adding in a couple hundred calories and then sleeping, or eating and then laying down to sleep and having the gastric acid affect my eso****eal sphincter. 4-6 oz of bcaa's won't do any of this, I can premix it no problem, takes just a second to slam (and I just keep a bottle of ACT next to it to rinse out my mouth as I pee after I take the aminos), so I got it just about all covered.

I get up quite often with my little one at random times at night... Never have I thought to take some BCAA's..

That is a great idea.. thanks man!!

Today was legs. I just got home from it about an hour ago.

Here's what I did:

Warmed up on the elliptical and then did some lightweight exercises on the laying hamstring curls and a laying down (supinated) sled squat/leg press machine.

-Box Squats. These were taxing today but in a good way. I brought my old weight belt (as in one that is still fairly new but I just haven't used it in about a year). On the heavier sets, I decided to throw it on. Well...it doesn't fit anymore...on ANY of the adjustments! I guess that's good cause I've slimmed down alot but now I gotta go buy another belt!

-Then did SLDL.

Those tho exercises took along time and took alot out of us...but not yet enough!

-Leg press

-Standing hamsting curls

-and then finished up with Box Jumps
I start slow and work my way up. I use a smaller platform/box like 12" so quite low and then move up to about a 24" (I'm estimating here). I do step ups first to prepare my knees and warm them up for it which seems to help alot. Then I'll do the box jumps. I'll start on the lower box and then move up. No set time or amount, just until I'm tired and not the pansy I wanna stop tired, but the I might not make it and eat the box and the floor kinda tired! :D Then I wanted to do more but the max box height wasn't high enough so I stacked another box on top of it, unfortunately it slide very easily on top of each other and I can see the catastrophe that that would cause. Another guy there was watching us and suggested we put one of the rubber mats in between the boxes. I tried it out and it actually worked pretty well. I had my workout partner hold the back end of the top box, just in case. I marked it on my body so I could semi-accurately measure it when I got home. Turned out to be 33". So I was able to do them and did them until I couldn't do them anymore. I rested and repeat, except this time at the end, I pulled off the top box and then kept going. I'm going to be hurting tomorrow!

For RecoverPro, I premixed it and put it in the fridge for after my workout. As a second thought, I decided to add an extra scoop to it before I left. I opened it up and it was all nice and dissolved and added in the extra scoop. When I drank it after my workout it wasn't quite mixed as well by added

I know what you mean, I'm glad those days are over for me, but yeah, take full advantage of it!

Today I supersetted arms. I do mine a bit differently. Here's how it looked.

-Seated single arm DB curls
supersetted with:
-Tricep Pushdowns (rope and cables)
supersetted with:
-Cable Preacher Curls (did 21's on this and really burned them out for the finishing touch)

Did this rotation for several sets and then switch to the following:

-Bent Over/Overhead Cable Extensions
supersetted with:
-Drag Curls
supersetted with:
-Weighted Dips

Did this rotation for several sets. Arms were absolutely smoked after this and had some excellent hypertrophy too.

Then did some ab work as follows:

-Weighted super decline sit-ups (decline bench raised and then also put on a box---did 21's with this exercise too)

-Straight leg raises
compound setted with:
-Knee-ups

-Ab Crunches (machine)

-Neck-ups

A few hours later I used more housework as my cardio. I did a little over 6 hours of painting non-stop except for BCAA breaks.

Today I decided to mix and match my RecoverPro BCAA's with other BCAA's that I like. Here's how it went. First mixture: RecoverPro with N'Gage Glacier Punch (which actually tastes like light lemonade). This one mixed pretty well and tasted very good. Second mix: RecoverPro with Dymatize Recoup Lemonade. Mix wasn't as good but was decent. Taste was decent, not as good as the N'Gage mixture. Last one was RecoverPro with USP labs Modern BCAA's White Blue Raspberry. This one mixed like hell. That was the MBCAA's though since I already know the RPro dissolves much better. Pic is included of this one below. Taste was ok. So even with all these different concoctions, RecoverPro is still best when done alone as far as both mixture and taste. Oh and all trials were done 1:1 per product and in the exact same shaker and with the same amount of tap water.

I tried RecoverPro in cold water from one of those cold water with a 5 gallon jug on top thing. It didn't mix as well. Still not bad since the swirl method allowed me to still drink most all of it. Then I tried it in cold drinking fountain water with the same results. I see now that the colder the water, the more difficult it is to dissolve.

Today I put it in tap water and it mixed well and then I threw it in the fridge. It came out cold and completely dissolved! I then conducted a little trial experiment. I added a Diet Mountain Dew to it and it was actually a very tasty combo!

Today was chest day.

I did the following:

-Incline DB press

-Flat Bench

-HS wide grip press

-HS incline press

I mixed one scoop in 16oz today and barely had any "floaties"

There were some at the top.. but in the first-second gulp they were pretty much gone..

I did try another experiment last night. I figured wow, the diet mountain dew and recoverpro were excellent together so I'll try another variation. I tried Dr Pepper Ten (the ten total calorie can which tastes better then diet). I figured, Cherry Dr Pepper was excellent so why not a Raspberry Dr Pepper. Well, as luck would have, 23 is still the magical number. Adding flavor number 24 ruin it. It was still drinkable, I'm not about to waste perfectly good aminos! But both are better on their own.

Anybody else having user cp issues? My user cp screen is "frozen." It won't clear out the threads I've already viewed and won't update the thread that have new posts in them. I didn't even know I had new posts in here until I came in to post and saw them. I've already logged out, cleared cookies, ect. This has been since this morning.

Hey I am going to have to try this 10 calorie dr pepper.

I drink Zero Coke. will have to try the diet mountain dew and recoverpro and some others. Great ideas James

alright, some updates. Tuesday was cardio day. I did an hour and a half of full court basketball.

Yesterday I did back.

-Lat Pull downs to chest, slightly leaning back and emphasizing the lats involvement

-Behind the neck lat pull downs (I use the extended handle grip bar on this on so I don't hit my head and don't have to move my head forward or down to minimize injury risk

-T-bar rows, did 6 sets or so on this one

-Straight arm pushdowns

-Weighted back extensions, drop sets

-I then practiced posing.

Today I'm doing delts and will be using the last of my RecoverPro. I'll have a review up by tomorrow.

Thanks, it's like a nice treat. Did you ever get a chance to try it?

Not yet. I have some ideas though Thanks to you. Ive tried the Zero coke and raspberry recoverpro and they did not mix well, I did not let is sit though.

Ill have to try letting it sit.

so with the dt mt dew you let it sit in water, then pour in the diet mountain dew?

do you use this recipe for each diet soda because I would think the water would water it down a bit

Basically I use a smaller amount of water, like 6-8 oz and put in 1-1.5 scoops RecoverPro and then shake in a shaker cup and let it sit in the fridge. This allows it to get cold (as I found out it doesn't mix well in cold liquids) and dissolve. Then a couple hours later, it'll be nice and cold and dissolved. Then I'll put in as much Diet Mt Dew till it was carbonated enough and tasted good, which was about 3/4 can. I will use the whole can tonight for my last serving.

Did delts today

-Rear DB delt raises

-Overhead DB press

-Barbell shoulder press

-Front Lateral raises

-Side Lateral raises

-Upright rows

It was truly a sad sight today, looking into an empty RecoverPro container. :(

Lookin real good my man. Lovin the visuals - great for logging. Thats an uncanny amount of BCAA's youve proven your credentials to me for comparing RecoverPRO to the rest!

Thanks, I'm glad it helped! I'm hoping my final review will sum it up nicely.

Final Review

RecoverPro Red Raspberry

Taste
This was by far the most impressive point. It blew me away! It is my new favorite tasting BCAA drink that I've had yet. It far surpasses the previous RecoverPro that was thankfully reformulated. The taste never grew tiring and worked well with diet mt dew!

Mixability
Mixability is above par but not the best. BCAA Power, Xtend, N'Gage, iBCAA's all mixed better with less effort. However, if done correctly you could still get it to mix completely, unlike Meta BCAA which I will leave in room temperature for more then a day and never mixes. Recoup and MBCAA don't mix near as well either.

So how does it typically mix in a shaker cup? It mixes fairly well but still has some amino flakes that float on top but not a full cloud like Recoup and MBCAA's did for me. The only time it "clouded" was when I used very very cold water.

So what is the optimal way to mix it? I still used cold tap water and it worked fine (as long as it doesn't get too cold like it was refrigerated). For a more instantaneous solution, just swirl the shaker cup between sips and you will get all of it down with no problem and virtually no residue. The optimal way however, would be to mix it up and then let it sit for a little bit and it will dissolve completely (as show in the previously posted pics). I like to put it in the fridge for a couple hours AFTER I initially mix it up, and it comes out cold, refreshing, and dissolved!

Would I use it again?
Some products I like but no enough to pay for over another comparable product that I may like a certain aspect about a bit better. In this case, I will definitely use it again and am already looking for deals to get a few tubs!

Thanks for the great review and i'm glad you enjoyed RecoverPro!

yeah I checked it out but was still disappointed. Here's the breakdown why. So AI site has the large RecoverPro listed at: $59.99 Invalid Link Removed. So their 30% off deal now makes it $41.99. At this forum's store, NutraPlanet, the exact same size tub of RecoverPro is $39.99 Invalid Link Removed. So using their "SALE" you end up paying $2 MORE per tub!!! What kinda of sale has you paying more!? :jaw:

Thanks for the great review and i'm glad you enjoyed RecoverPro!

Thanks, I actually really liked it and it has now truly become my favorite BCAA product! However, I'll stick to buying it from NP!

Thank you for the review James. Your log is one of the best I have seen and I learned about mixing it with diet sodas. Maybe our company can learn about the mix ability for the customer and do it better next time. Regardless this is a great flavor and best price on the market for bcaa's

I really like the Dew idea.

I've come to really enjoy that one!

Great Review buddy!!!

Thanks John!
