Marijuana use... a sin?

The thing also rayactr is that we have to obey the laws of the land.

Romans 1:"Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God. 2*Therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken a stand against it will receive judgment to themselves

If we are getting it illegally, no matter how harmless we may think it is.. the scripture says we are going against the arrangement of God. I'm with you bro, based on the evidence marijuana seems to pose less danger then alcohol. (If not smoked) but we can't ignore the laws.

I would agree that alcohol in excess is worse than weed but these are simply justifications. Nobody can deny the fact that thc is a psychoactive chemical that exerts both physiological and psychological effects in spite of how much some love to get high any claim that it does not alter the state of mind is in denial.

I don't know about a sin but it's a $500 ticket that takes about 5 mins to write, lol

HAHA!! Very true StakedCop! Dont let a book control you. You can smoke and be a great person at the same time! I dont care for religion myself. These are just my views. I enjoy my time on earth!

That's my dad's argument. But aren't there some states where gay marriage is legal? and gay men or women can be priests. So, if the law of the land says it is ok, then why should christians have a problem with it?

My point is that legality shouldn't be the determining factor in a sin. If your family is starving, and you steal food from a grocery store to feed them, I dont think that should be considered a sin.

Well when man's laws contradict God's laws you must obey God rather then man. (Acts 5:29) Obviously there's no arrangement for Gay marriage in the bible so it would not be supported by God so neither would a christian support it.

Legality of the land isn't always the determining factor but in the case of marijuana it is.

As far as stealing food for your family to feed them it would be a sin and I'll tell you why. If you worshiped God and had faith in God you won't have to worry about that. It will be given to you. I've seen first hand proof.

Matthew 6:31*"So never be anxious and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or, ‘What are we to drink?’ or, ‘What are we to put on?’ 32*For all these are the things the nations are eagerly pursuing. For YOUR heavenly Father knows YOU need all these things.33*“Keep on, then, seeking first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added to YOU.

Luke 18: 28*"But Peter said: “Look! We have left our own things and followed you.” 29*He said to them: “Truly I say to YOU, There is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God 30 who will not in any way get many times more in this period of time, and in the coming system of things everlasting life.”

Every single time I put my faith in God in a time of need he answered. It may not have been in a way I exactly wanted or even thought of but I was not left to dead. He gave me what I NEEDED. I have many experiences and too many coincidences to be explained otherwise.
