Ok guys. Lipid/heart health, let's do this.

I need some suggestions for what would be the best cholesterol stack (in terms of higher HDL and lower LDL).

So far I have: Toco-8, Grape Seed Extract, Niacin, Green Tea Extract/Green Tea, Fish Oil.

Anyone have other suggestions??

Krill oil . One person suggested the niacin be a time-released version.

What does coconut oil taste like? Where do you get it?

Coconut oil is expensive... I find it right by all the other oils (right by EVOO).

Mostly saturated but it's Medium chain so it doesn't raise LDL right? How does it help with lipids??

I cooked with it for a bit but it made everything have a light, sweet taste (slightly coconut-y lol). I only really use it in shrimp stir-fry now.

I really enjoy putting around 1/4 cup of coconut oil in the frying pan, and cooking 5-6 eggs sunny side up that way. Its also nice because its flash point is a lot higher than most other oils. Works nice with stirfry chicken if you use a savory sort of herb mix.

I found it to be too sweet for chicken but I would be willing to try it with an herb mix to make it more of a savory flavor. Any recommendations?

I used rosemary, garlic, tarragon, thyme and something i'm just not recalling now all mixed together. Maybe it was sage or basil or oregano. But the sweetness of the coconut oil was a nice complementary taste.

Another thing that goes perfect with it is this

I bought it at the Dole plantation in hawaii, but they sell it plenty of places online.

Any of the old bay type seafood boil seasonings work well too as they are savory + spicy so the sweetness is a good complement.

I've got roughly 60-70 spices and spice mixes in my kitchen.

That one sounds great thanks!

By raising HDL, which is cardio protective. It's the same price as EVOO, so I wouldn't say it's expensive.

Aside from omega 3 fish oil and fiber, go see your doctor for a statin drug. Lipitor knocked my cholesterol in half and now my LDLs and HDLs are good. If you do start a statin drug, make sure you supplement with CoQ10. Statins reduce your CoQ10 level by the same percent they reduce your cholesterol.
