Fish Oil. Period.

thanks- i thought lovaza was just a otc brand name, lol.

question, if lovaza is specific for cholesterol will it help joints like regular fish oil does? i have good insurance and 90% sure doc would prescribe, just want to know if it is right for me.

I don't know for sure, but as long as it retains all the constituents of the EPA and DHA, it should.

Lovasa is really high. and triple filtered, but like i said earlier it has side affects, like anything else out there. But one side effect is diarrhea..... Which with me was the case.

It is not filitered 3 times. It is filtered 5 times but as long as you do 3 filiters which is what mine has your fine. I have had no side effects from EPA an DHA any how. Show me some pub med sites showing the dangers of EPA and DHA

I was told of the sides from my docter. This link all i did was google...... I would of thought you could of found something easily though. But also cant help the fact that it did give me diarhea, proof in the pudding. Im normally good at figuring out why im having diarrhea since i have had crohnes for 10yrs..... But the sides i heard were minor and nothing to crazy.... But just like anything everything has side effects.....

Well any drug that is FDA approved has to list the side effects but you and me know Lovaza is just fish oil that is FDA approved. If other brands of fish oil was FDA approved it would have listed the same side effects too.

Burping, infections, and flu symptoms are the most common side effects reported with Lovaza. Side effects that are rare but possible include dry mouth, insomnia, and constipation. While most side effects of this product are mild, some are potentially serious and should be reported to your healthcare provider immediately, including chest pain and any signs of an allergic reaction (such as hives or breathing problems)

Just came across this thread doing a search on "fish oil" GREAT thread!

Does it matter when/how you dose your fish oil daily? Do you need to dose it evenly in separate dosages, or can you take it all in one dosage?

I was thinking of doing it all in one dose with my last meal of the day since its a high fat meal anyways. Otherwise I would have thought about dosing the other half in the AM, but I do cardio on an empty stomach in the AM, and from what I read in the thread it should be taken with food, not on an empty stomach.

Thoughts?

Thank yah sir! :147:
Yes always take with food. It depends buddy. Find out how your body responds. If you have any inflammation (joints hurt, headaches, etc.) Judge if it subsides. And there you go! Like i said above. try to decide what your level of inflammation is at. If you have any diseases or what. Arthritis? Then you can base it off of that. Always take pure fish oil so you dont get poisonous fillers in mass quantities. Also consider your blood sugar pressure cause this can effect that also....

crohnes disease in remission. Joints like knees which have been a problem for quite a while dont bother me any more. After cycles seem to keep more of my gains. cholesterol is good. Blood pressure is fine. seeming awsome, have not noticed any problems.

Almost always, it will behoove you to split most supps up and do multiple dosings.

For me, I do 2 caps fish oil x 4x/day

I think 2x/day would be "OK".
