2010 College Football Season

Hey rubb -- not trying to fight but I forgot to mention that Arizona threw for almost 450 yards against that vaunted Oregon pass-d that you proclaimed. Do you dare say that Arizona's pass-O is on par with Arkansas/SC/Georgia/Alabama?

Arizona's passing offense is ranked #8 in the country. Bama's is #19. Considering McElroy, a less-than-mediocre QB by your standards, threw for 377 in one half against AU's secondary... I'm not sure what there is to argue.

Julio played like a monster until he got hurt. Arizona has played far less competition than Alabama to obtain those numbers. I still think Roof should be fired after this season. There is no reason our defense should be outcoached that badly EVERY first half the entire season. Then in the second half they are a very solid D after they make adjustments. I've never seen anything like it.

I was in T-Town last night after the game and managed to run into Ingram at one of the local bars. He seemed to be in high spirits still even after this loss.

I'd attempt a clever comeback to that, but strangely enough, I can't find anyone who's run into Cam Newton in public during the last three weeks.

Why didn't you let us know you run the PA system at the Alabama home games, rub? That was one of the least classy run games I've ever seen. I understand the hate from the fans but the adults who run the school should not have allowed those songs to be played before the game.

I'll certainly concede that AU made some adjustments, but the fact that Bama went back to their ultra-predictable-protect-the-lead offense in the 2nd half didn't help. The first quarter was the only time all season I couldn't tell you what play they'd run next. Auburn's very fortunate that it wasn't 38-0 or 42-0 in the 2nd qtr. That being said, Bama didn't execute when they had to.

Btw, I could not figure out for the life of me why Barron didn't pick the ball off when he clearly read that one TD catch. In fact, he kept the other DB from making the tackle. He didn't ever reach his arm up for the ball, even though his eyes were on it. Turns out he tore his pec muscle when he tried to strip the ball from the AU WR on their first TD play.

I don't mention that to make excuses... but to ask in frustration to Bama's coaching staff: Why the f@#k was Barron in the game??? I realize their thin on DBs right now, but Lowery would've been more than adequate playing safety for two quarters. That's just a poor coaching decision.

C'mon, man. It's the most heated rivalry in the South. Was it "classy" for Newton to prance around the field... by himself... with his hand over his mouth, taunting the Bama student section, and then take a victory lap before leading a mockery of "Rammer Jammer?" Or to keep laying on the ground like he was hurt on every play of their last drive? "All Eyez On Me."

The phrase "Act like you've been there" is lost on him, clearly.

Newton's a great athlete... but "classy" is something I'd never call him. Check out the latest article by FOX Sports if you think I'm the only one who notices that stuff. The guy's a pompous douche, man. Period.

On the other hand, both Fairley and Chizik were total class acts after the game.

I dont read FoxSports anymore. Thayer Evans is the biggest joke of a reporter I've ever read in my life. Him and Lou Holtz might be the most anti-Auburn people in the country. At least he did that AFTER the game when he was running off emotion or just winning the Iron Bowl. Not BEFORE the game. He is a KID too. A KID should not be held to the same standards as an university. Sitting our band in the upper deck too.. comon man. All that will do is lead to more and more hate between these schools in the future.

Florida makes me sick to watch. Losing Mullen KILLED that team. They have so many talented pieces and just cannot find a way to put them together properly. It's sickening to watch.

Fairley is a classy guy man. He just plays with a HUGE motor and doesn't like to stop. In the NFL, those are the guys who succeed (RAY LEWIS). I could almost go out on a limb and say he's been as important to Auburn as Cam has. I love that dude.

He is a KID too.

I'll just say this: There stands a good chance that you may feel much differently about him a year from now. If the pay-for-play stuff is actually proven to be true, even winning State/SEC/BCS titles will not compensate for the long-term damage it will do to that institution... especially if Cam's just the tip of the iceberg in a big Lowder-Colonial Bank fiasco.

Will it take away the experience of yesterday's game? No, of course not. But that big smile might not fill you with excitement if he's the only figure in the whole scandal who comes out unscathed. The NFL will draft the "kid" either way. For your sake, when that kid is a MAN... I hope you don't shudder when you see his toothy grin on Sundays.

All that will do is lead to more and more hate between these schools in the future.

My honest opinion: I actually think the Iron Bowl is completely unhealthy on both sides. If they played as often as Florida-Alabama or Florida-Auburn, I think that might be a good thing. It was a mistake to put them both in the same division, imo. Living as far away from it as I do now... the whole thing seems really lame for the most part. Yet, because it was such a big part of my culture for the first 20 years of my life, I find the obsession a hard habit to break. I don't know, man... I'm just not as proud of it as I once was. In fact, I'm a little embarrassed by it now. Listening to Finebaum the other day brought it all back for me, and that wasn't such a good thing.

Not sure how you really feel about it. I know we have our "online personas" to maintain.

Utterly pathetic coaching at the end of the half. What else is new from Miles. I know he wins and is a great man but I cant wait until he is gone. Please UM, come calling for Miles.

How in the FN hell do you NOT have your DBs back on a play at the end of the half?

Wisconsin's not taking any chances. Looks like another 80+ point performance by the Badgers today.

Still though -- Mich St. beat Wisconsin head to head and Ohio State lost to Wisconsin. Due to pre-season BS rankings it may cost the team who is most deserving (Michigan State) from being the team who goes to a BCS game. I don't like any of the 3 teams but Michigan State is the team who deserves to come out of it.

Wisconsin will go to the Rose Bowl based on the tie breaker for 3 way tie being BCS ranking. I just hope my beloved Buckeyes will get an at large bid. How about 6 straight years of 10 or more wins and 6 straight Big ten titles for my Buckeyes?

This looks like something you'd post rubberring. Maybe you can add it to your collection

I was hoping McCarons ass would be too sore to be able to pass the ball properly when he got in the game from the beatdown Saban laid on him a few weeks ago.

- No wonder Fairley feels like he needs to demolish the QB when he gets to them.

^^That stuff just proves my point. You know how much I thought about Auburn after last year's game? I didn't. Like, at all. AU was irrelevant to me once the clock hit 00:00. I was focused on the Gators. After that, the Longhorns.

But hey, you go ahead and obsess. I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Auburn football... at its very core... is all about the Crimson Tide. Always has been. Even when they're a game away from the Heisman and a title.

Just remember, I reserve the right to rub it in if/when the NCAA drops the hammer.

But don't worry, I probably won't say too much. Because honestly, I'm only concerned with my team... almost as much as you are.

Please, carry on though.

Dude get a grip. None of that was hateful or mean. It was funny. You're acting as emo sensitive as this guy:

Btw, does it show up for you guys in "Pirate mode?"

Forgot you're from Cali.. you probably see that everyday there. lol I'd love for someone like that to walk around Alabama, it'd be scary.

Probably only three places in CA where you could get away with that look: The Hillcrest District in San Diego, Berkeley, and the Castro District in San Francisco.

Definitely wouldn't try that look in Oakland or San Jose.

Serious question.. is it better for Auburn that Arkansas won or would it of been better if LSU did? if LSU won it'd be that Auburn beat a #4 and a #16 but now it'll be 2 around 8-9. The one bonus is that Auburn is guaranteed to at worst be the only 1 loss SEC team. Able to get to the NC game even if they don't win the SEC?? Or would they put TCU in? Even with a loss NOONES resume compares to Auburn's.. Not even an undefeated Oregon. Breaking Bamas 20 game home streak and winning against the other ranked teams we've beat is incomprehendable to me.

I don't really think it matters. I think TCU will squeak in if AU loses to a 3-loss S. Carolina though. No way the voters let an at-large non-conference champion in... especially from the SEC. The rest of the country would sh#t themselves.

Breaking news out of Miami - head coach Randy Shannon to be fired within the next 2 days.

No idea from anyone close to our program who a realistic candidate is.

Stay tuned.

(Also heard Rich Rod is out at Mich and Harbaugh is their guy. You puckered yet, Bucknuts? LOL)

I think it would be great if Michigan changes course right now and brings in a coach who runs a pro style offense and he has to try to make it work with guys recruited to run the spread. I think this would set the program back at least 2 more years and means Tressel will have an 11-1 against Michigan before they can compete. Didn't Harbaugh have some animosity towards Michigan during the last coaching search?

Just saw this and got a chuckle thought I would share as I don't recall seeing rub post this one.

they need better players on both sides of the ball 3 or 4 good players aren't enough to win many games.
yea harbaugh is a douche bag he had pretty bad comments about the mich program a few years ago. I'd rather see john cooper coach them before this guy if that tells you anything.

So, he's a douche for saying this?

Jim Harbaugh: "Michigan is a good school and I got a good education there, but the athletic department has ways to get borderline guys in, and when they're in, they steer them to courses in sports communications. They're adulated when they're playing, but when they get out, the people who adulated them won't hire them."

Sounds like he was speaking his mind, and... God forbid... being critical of his alma mater.

Yeah... he's definitely a douche bag. How dare he not tow the company line 24/7.

You realize that as long as Auburn wins next week, it is most likely going to be a Arkansas v. Ohio State Sugar Bowl.

Does it suck to have to lose to another SEC team?

They just announced on ABC that Miami let him go after the loss today.

It moved faster than what I was told. Press conf. tomorrow.

You sir are an idiot if you want Coop over Harbaugh. You want to keep having mediocre seasons? Ok...

Agree. It wouldn't be overnight.

I think there was mutual animosity from when he played there and was in the NFL. But that may be hearsay.

Nice win today, dude! Congrats.

Did you hear that Houston Nutt is probably stepping down at Ole Miss tomorrow? Looks like Bama's Smart and AU's Malzahn will have their pick of jobs after the season.

I also heard Florida's McCarney might be headed for North Texas.

I read that Vandy will be going after Malzahn hard as well. Should be interesting to watch all of this play out. Florida may want to grab Malzahn as well because let's be honest, that offense is bad.

Can't see him going to Vandy. That place is a bit of a career-killer. I could definitely see him going to Oxford though.

As for Kirby, I'm pretty sure he's holding out for the Georgia job... but I think Richt gets another year.

Whew! Glad that monkey is off our back as well. Been a long time coming. Sloppy with 4 turnovers, and a few mistakes by the trojans, but I'll take that for sure. It's also good to get that win on the road in the coliseum.

Yep, I can't see him going near Nashville. He has already said he will only leave for the right head coaching position. Oxford would be a much better choice.

Another year like this one for Georgia and Richt will see the door.

I would love to see this happen. I know I would listen for weeks on end about the speed difference and how the offense is superior to Ohio State's and on and on and then we win. Simple as that

Bring us Ohio State.

Careful what you wish for, just see last years Rose Bowl with Oregon and their superior speed and unstoppable offense.

The Oregon example doesn't apply. Arkansas has played the nation's #5 hardest schedule. Hell, the SEC West could be the nations strongest conference just in itself. I won't compare this year's battle tested Razorback team to last year's over-hyped Oregon team.

I've never considered Ohio State slow this year and had they not lost to Wisconsin, they would be headed to Glendale. I will tell you that you haven't even been close to seeing the kind of offense that we would throw at you. Ask the SEC's number 1 defense how how that worked out for them today.

Keep in mind that this is all speculative at this point, Auburn still has to win next weekend. Hello, my name is bikeswimlive and I am the nations newest Auburn fan! Go Tigers!

Petrino is bringing Arkansas into prominence and to be the best, you have to start beating the best. I would like to add Ohio State to the beaten list.

Also, my **** talking is just starting to get warmed up. It is going to be a long month for you.

Of course Oregon was over-hyped they lost my beloved Buckeyes right? hahaha I find it amusing how all the talk was about them running OSU off the field and then when we won it was a case of them being over-hyped. No love for my Buckeyes? That's ok I personally think Oregon was more skilled offensively last year than Arkansas is this year. I'm sure you'll beg to differ but any honest SEC fan will admit this has been the worst year defensively in the SEC in many, many years.

Are defenses slightly down or are the offenses way up? Paradox. Yeah, Oregon was so skilled Masoli came over to the SEC and just went wild. Oh wait a minute...

totally different system for him to be fair. I think the Razorbacks have a nice team but defense is more than "slightly" down in the SEC. I watch a ton of football and both Florida and Alabama's defense's have been monsters for years but they have definite weaknesses this year. I don't want to take anything away from your boys they have had a great season and deserve a BCS bowl game. Congrats on a great year and I hope we get that match up in the Sugar Bowl.
