2010 College Football Season

Finebaum just said "I hope they put wheels on Sabans statue for when he takes the Cowboys job"... Man I am a IDIOT. Isn't that right guys? All of you geniuses who said I was a complete moron for even stating such a thing could occur. Maybe I'll get my own syndicated radio show too for being such a moron and making predictions that could NEVER happen.

Did you just compare yourself to F-baum?

Then yes, you're an idiot.

Btw, I just realized today that I can get WJOX online, so I actually listened to the show for all of 30 minutes. Finebaum said to a caller, right before hanging up: "Good try though." I suspected he was your inspiration... and now it's confirmed.

Listening to you southerners makes me so thankful I got out when I was 20.

LOLOLOLOLOL ... Maybe Rich Rod will come coach for you guys next year after Michigan fires his sorry ass, he was your first choice last time, right? Oh wait, he turned you guys down. I forgot.

an IDIOT.. man I love feeling like I'm in 9th grade English class again. I thought forums were about substance more than grammar. I guess people who have no meaningful substance to bring can at least say the nothing that they wrote well.

Coming from you... that's comedy gold.

The funniest part of me clowning on you... is that you lack the sense to realize it. Legend in your own mind.

Anyway... how's that Pick 'Em comeback workin' out for you? 10 points on UNC??? You'll have to explain that one to me.

And, how the hell is Bama-AU not one of this week's games???!!! (I'm looking at you, BUCKNUTS.)

NC Pick -- let me explain this to an english major: When you are behind and don't have much time left to come back. You cannot make the same pics are you opponents. That'll just keep you the same number of points back. So I had to take a risk and pick a upset and put alot of points on it. It should of paid off, UNC was the better team. But oh well.

I'd rather use this thread to argue about why Boise and TCU shouldn't have a shot to play in the NC game really. That's the main story in college football right now that bugs me. I think it's a joke.

Bad strategy, dude. Let me explain this to a whatever major: With only a few weeks remaining, if you want a major swing in points, you have to bet on a real upset. There was no certainty that we'd all pick NCSU. Even if we did, it wasn't going to be a high-point pick. You have to bet against a team others are likely to take as their 6+ point pick. For example, picking TAMU would've done the trick. My $0.02.

Did you catch the post I made a while back about Boise playing three Friday games in a row, giving teams like Nevada a short week? And taking a 2nd bye week so that they can play on the same day as the SECCG, while TCU just sits idle? Who else gets two bye weeks?

If AU loses Friday, Boise is in. Sad reality for us both.

Turned F-baum back on for the lulz. Did he just say that Alabama not allowing AU to do their traditional Tiger Walk would be "the biggest factor in the game?"

This guy is too much.

I really want to disagree and am starting to convince myself I'm correct. Even HUGE Boise advocates like Tim Brando have commented that Auburn still has a chance with a loss this weekend and a convincing win over SC. It's just disgusting that you can beat Virginia Tech and NOONE Else and goto the NC game. This is a good article: Invalid Link Removed

You get that. I get that. But let's face it... 70% of his listeners won't get that.

Finebaum is probably the most sarcastic person I've ever heard in my life. He also might be the goofiest looking person I've ever seen in my life. When he goes on ESPN he looks like a cartoon character. I think it's pretty funny.

Well man, we have to take into consideration that Brando is a CBS guy. CBS is all about the SEC, obviously. Bruce Feldman of ESPN (aka Boise State Network) says even if AU loses to Bama in a close game and then pounds S. Carolina, it won't be enough to keep Boise out. That's where BSU playing on the same day comes into play. Smart scheduling on their part.

This is the first time I've ever listened to his show. I can't decide if it's dreadfully painful or ridiculously entertaining. I forced my best friend to listen... he's a CA native... and he thought the calls were fake, accents and all. He was mortified when he realized it's actually a real show.

I just looked into the passing stats deeper. Auburn's opponents have thrown the ball 100 more times on them than Alabama's. Auburn has allowed 10.74 yards per completion while Alabama has allowed 11.14. Does Auburn have an excellent secondary? No. But the YPG numbers are deeply inflated by the amount of plays ran against Auburn and teams being scared to run the ball against Auburns defense. Doesn't look so bad now does it?

Turn it off! It's addicting. He makes you so mad that it makes you keep listening. He's good at what he does ( stir up conflict ).

I'll give you this: You are the most glass-half-full fan I've ever seen.

So, if no news comes out on Newton, and AU won't say a word... nothing's happening. My counterpoint would be: If AU doesn't flat-out say that the NCAA has cleared their guy and that it's a non-issue... something's happening.

If teams are throwing all over AU, then according to you, it's because they're scared to run. My counterpoint would be: If teams are throwing on AU... it's because they can.

AU has survived three 3-point games against mediocre opponents, and two other one-score games... at home... against the teams that bested Alabama. What does that mean? I'm not sure yet. But don't go trying to convince me that Auburn is vastly superior to Alabama on the field.

Bottom line: Auburn went out and bought themselves some great players this year. Let's see if it was a good investment.

haha.. You're ridiculous. Honestly. Look at the yards we had against those teams compared to what they had on us. We left ALOT of points on the table because we do not go out to blow out teams, we just go out to win. LSU for example (Yes the same LSU that blasted you guys), 530 yards to 260. We won by 7 because we left a bunch of points on the table and kneed it on the 3 yard line at the end of the game 4 straight plays. How was that Tenn game last year with you guys? They were attrocious and you guys were really good. It is NOT POSSIBLE to blow out teams every week in this conference.

Do you honestly think Alabama is a legitamite top 5 defense? I hope you're kidding. South Carolina - 35 points? Did we allow them to score 35? No. Alabama is a top 40 defense. I honestly wouldnt trade you defenses. I like our DL and our Linebackers more and I think both teams DB's and secondary sucks. I'll give you the advantage in Safety but thats it.

You suitin' up on Friday?

Apparently, you missed the "at home" part of my post. Oh well... I'll just keep being honestly ridiculous. Better than "keepin' it down home, cuz," I suppose.

The most important stat in defense is POINTS ALLOWED. That's all that matters. So, in fact... they are a top 3 defense, and they'll be a lot better next season.

Yes, 35 points at Columbia vs. 27 points in your backyard. Good point.

Bama's secondary... who have 22 interceptions (the most in the nation)... are on par with AU's. Right. Another brilliant point.

Okay, you've reached full-retard again. Time for me to abandon this thread for now. Enjoy your dream season. :sgrin:

not sure if we win or lose but Auburn will put up 35+ points against your "dream defense".

At least it'll be easy to divert the effects of your loss off of you by just saying we won by using an illegal player( allegations that have not been proven ). And please don't say that's not what you will be doing, along with every other Alabama poor loser. But if you win you'll be able to say you beat us even with us cheating. It's all already planned and ready for execution. Almost like why major schools dont play Boise, its a lose/lose situation.

And Auburn's Defense near the top in tackles for loss.Alabama is almost in last in TFL and in Sacks.

Well, that's what happens when you are a fan of an athletic department influenced by the likes of Lowder: You have to deal with the consequences of being exposed.

Don't worry though... I'll use the plural -- illegal players.

And, how the hell is Bama-AU not one of this week's games???!!! (I'm looking at you, BUCKNUTS.)

Wait a minute, I'm still chuckling over hoother surprising admission that he's an idiot.:lol:

Why isn't THE game Ohio vs Michigan one of this week's games?

I'll tell you what. Since you're so confident Auburn has the better team, how about a little wager?

Whoever comes out on the losing end on Friday is banned from posting in this and the next AM football thread for an entire year. Not a peep.

Deal?

Last years were better imo but both are cool for their significance to Buckeye fans.

This year's edition looks much more intimidating, imo. The helmets are great, especially with the significance of the star on the back. Of course, I've always been partial to red. Scarlet... isn't that a shade of crimson?

no no no no crimson is a shade of scarlet. The uniforms have a lot of meaning for sure many of those young men who won that championship were killed in WW 2.

I'll take this years uniform with that years font on the numbers, please. I'll admit that im a TP fan. He just isn't on the right team to show his abilities. TP on Oregon or Auburn would be amazing.

Why didn't you post the video that you and your sister made about Julio this year Sean? I guess i'll man up and post it for you.

Not too crazy about ANY Ohio St uniform.. 'Matter of fact, I hate em!! Lol, just kidding. I think all the pro combat uni's are pretty cool. Hey Bucknuts, we bringing a secret weapon to Columbus this Sat. Y'all better be ready! OK, reality check. I. Wish we had a sercret weapon - well two of them.. A fg kicker & a friggin D!!! Hopefully our O can keep it somewhat respectable.

The Plains are a different place. It celebrates wins by throwing toilet paper in trees. Some say there is a certain inferiority complex too. Alabama has most of the championships. Auburn is no stranger to the NCAA infractions with seven major infractions cases in its history. Whether the Newton situation becomes No. 8 is an ongoing mystery. Whatever consequences exist by playing him, if any, it has become clear that Auburn will gladly live with them.

"I do know how things operate at Auburn," said Bill Oliver, who was an assistant at the school in both the 1960s and 1990s. "I know how they've operated for many, many years."

He did not elaborate.

Btw, I heard Brian Housel's psychotic rant from six years ago. That guy used to be your AD. Your AD, dude. It's the creepiest thing I've ever heard. Fits right in with the grotesquely incestuous nature of "The Family."

When my southern friends ask me why I continue to reside in a state where the cost of living is so high, I explain to them that I've never seen an Auburn hat/jersey/sweatshirt on anyone since I've lived here. The reply is always, "Gotcha."

I'm not completely confident in this game although meatchicken's defense is one of the worst I've seen at a major program. Robinson is always a threat to go the defense and that is worrisome, couple that with how inconsistent and conservative Ohio State's offense is and nothing is impossible. I mean don't get me wrong we're going to kick your ass but in this game the best team has not always won. GO BUCKS!!

I know I'm going to take a lot of heat for this one.......but here goes. I just saw that UGA's first game of the season next year is against Boise State. Even with a terrible season this year under our belt, I'm looking forward to seeing us play Boise St. I've always thought that a mediocre SEC team would still beat the crap out of them, so I guess I'll get to see if I'm right next season Although I expect UGA to have a better year next year, I don't think they'll compete for the east.

No worries for you BN. As you say, Michigan's defense is absolutely a joke. Wisconsin ran the ball 28 straight times with no problem! 28 straight times. The only drama related to this game is whether RichRod survives the week. Many say no way.

There will be many Georgia fans on that Saturday, probably the entire SEC!
BTW, I didn't know about this game, thanks for the heads up.

"I do know, having been both a Southeastern Conference president and a Big Ten president, that it's like murderer's row every week for these schools. We do not play the Little Sisters of the Poor. We play very fine schools on any given day." -Ohio State president E. Gordon Gee

Ouch.

I'm glad someone from an AQ school finally said it publicly... but I wish it had been from someone other than the OSU pres. It just gives Boise supporters too much ammunition to fire back with. Kudos to Gee for having the balls to say it though.

The result will be very similar to the last time they met.

^^That's an understatement. The Georgia Dome seats 71,000+...

"He added Boise State will receive about 7,500 tickets for the 2011 game, leaving the rest for Georgia."
