Forum advertiser Swanson's has a new offering out called Sustamine. Appears to be a patented compound. L-alanyl-L-glutamine. From the patent company website-

Sounds intriguing for athletes like myself.

I imagine swanson would pretty mch have this at a cheap bulk powder price, so Im glad Muscle Tech didn't get this one!

Glutamine and alanine are precursors for glucose in the alanine cycle which is partly how sustamine works.

Glutammine and alanine are two most abundant amino acids in circulation (which is one reason why i've always been curious what 5-10g of glutamine a day actually does). Both glucogenic amino acids. If the body needs to, it can convert them to glucose.

I gotta say, ever since Arginine turned out to be releasing insulin instead of NO, Ive been thinking of all the high tech arginines that companies put out, and feel scammed that apparently they didn't really know what these new chemicals were doing in the body. Im just suspicious of thse type of supplements now.

A lot of big supplement companies, and also a lot of "small" supplemment companies, simply do not know or understand science.
