GOMAD help!

I know im not lactose intolerant.. I used to drink 3 glasses of milk a day and a bowl of ice cream before bed; had 0 problems. I can see how anyone, lactose intolerant or not would have bowl problems from drinking a gallon of milk a day.

And to slim, if I gain excessive amounts of fat I'll bow down to you lmao... But.. I bet I dont!

I'll be waiting to forgive you. :fing02:

Slim seems to be trying to say that everyones body is the same and does not respond differently to things. Some people can eat a piece of pie and gain fat, some people can eat 2 pies and not gain fat. Everyones different when it comes to fat and muscle gains.

I think you are wrong. The people they gain fat instantly or never gain fat are the genetic anomalies. Regular people will gain or lose fat mainly based on their calories.

What about endos who gain fat easily, ectos who don't gain fat easily, and mesos that can burn fat easily. These aren't genetic anomalies but regular classes of people.

You can take the GI index and throw it out the window, it means absolutely nothing.

Hahaha well this has been a very entertaining read from a nutritionist's perspective. I love people who argue for the sake of arguing. Definitely subbing for the hilarity to come.

My rebuttal to your opinion begins now:

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like??

Day 6 of GOMAD. About to finish gallon 5.5 today.
Had 6 hours of cpr/lifeguard cert training yesterday, so could only drink .5gal..

hey gamer, does drinking all that milk before physical activity make you queezy when you workout? i find that if i drink a protein shake with milk beforer i lift i get sick as hell. i'd imagine a half gallon would be alot worse. the last thing i'd want is do get 1/2 a gallon down then spew it up after hitting legs.

You bring up a good point. I eat breakfast and have 1 or 2 tall glasses of whole milk. Wait an hour or so and then go lift. I tan for about 30 mins and get home around 1330.. So I pretty much drink the gallon in the second half of the day, which could explain stomach probs lmao haha...

Ya.. WTF lol..

I was proving a point. There have been a couple things said here that have a semblance of structure and thought processes but upon actually trying to understand them the reader realizes that the writer said absolutely nothing of value.

Well I am 0lbs up after 1 week on GOMAD diet... Calories everyday have been between 4500-5000 calories. 200+ grams of protein. Im getting 8 hours of sleep... WTF is up with my body? Going on week 2 of GOMAD, lets see if gains start coming.. For anyone that has done gomad, when did your fat/muscles gains start to hi hard?

damn buddy..not even a pound increase?

maybe since it gave you stomach problems for the first threw days it messed up this weeks gains? good luck on the second week & don't give up.

Not gonna give up.. Its getting a lot easier to down the milk and it isnt upsetting my digestive system like it used to. I even quit dipping to see if that would help my gains.. Nope.. WTF..

man ive been tryin 2 quit dip for a year now hahaha i just do it once a day now. u gotta taper off of it. enjoy a dip once in a while

Haha, dont get me started with that... I tried to quit beginning of the year, so I went cold turkey for a few days. I told myself, I can do a dip every once and a while, not gonna hurt, so 1 pinch turned into a can a day again lol... Im good now, not really addicted to the nicotine, just became a habit..

If you are expecting linear weekly increases you are doing it wrong. One day you can wake up and be up 2lbs, despite the scale not moving for weeks.

Also, I would like to add that the max amount of muscle you can build in a week is .5lbs. That is 24lbs of pure muscle in 1 year, and hardly anyone achieves that.

Basically if you can see the scale moving weekly (unless your scale has .5 increments) you are gaining fat, and need to cut back the calories.

Well, the scale really didnt move at all, meaning 0 fat gains.. Also, I thought it was .5-1.5lbs lean mass a week possible. Ive even read articles that 3lbs lean mass was possible. So, show me some definitive proof that I can only gain .5lbs lean mass max a week please... And you said that is for the genetically predisposed or gifted in regards to muscle building. If that is true, then I might not be hitting .25lbs of lean mass a week because I am not gifted in that regard...

this has been a pretty informative thread minus all the blah blah blah that came with the peanut gallery.

I've been curious about the GOMAD diet and was willing to try it when i run my next cycle... after seeing the thread i'm not so sure i want to poop cheese for nominal gains in weight.

thanks for putting the time in to log this, OP... i wasn't man enough to do it myself. =D

Yes, but notice how I said that you don't build muscle in linear fashion, same can be said for fat. One day you can wake up and be 2lbs heavier, or lighter. It doesn't happen like clockwork and is impossible to predict.

I will show you the study, as soon as locate it. I had it bookmarked, but now it seems to be missing. I will ask around and post here shortly.

Awesome, and ya, muscle and fat do just spontaneously appear, but I was expecting at least a lb increase by now..

Well, I had digestive problems for like 3 days, now I dont.. I still have gas, but I can live with that and I dont bloat like I used to.

Perhaps it's worth trying to break it up into 4-1L servings? Food for thought as this is how I managed to do it w/o any significant stomach upset. This and the Lactase pills of course.

Gallon number 9 shall be finished within a few hours. Will check my weight next Tuesday; which will be week 2 on this diet. My total calories for the day have been around 4500. I am doing no cardio. Im willing to keep this bulk up the whole summer...

just got to thinkin.....

i doubt you'd have to really worry much. but i'd be careful if i was taking a multi with lots of calcium in it

I've been on GOMAD for about two weeks and I have to say it hasn't had a profound effect on my bulking. I have noticed better recovery as well but it is not packing on the pounds like I expected it to.

I've decided its a great supplement to a diet, but I have stopped including the whole gallon it in my diet as calories. My maintenance caloric intake is about 3500 and I was taking in 4200 including the gallon. I'm going to round the gallon off to 1000 calories now and just plan my diet around that. I'll follow up with results.

Definitely enjoying gomad surprisingly haha. i've been able to control bloating by only drinking 1-2 glasses at a time spaced throughout the day pretty evenly.

So ridiculous lmao... Me thinks I produce way too much t3, although years ago the doctors said I may have hypothyroidism?

Damn dude..

A gallon of milk a day + a big diet + a normal person = weight gain

A gallon of milk a day + a big diet + a freak = no weight gain lol

Here is my issue with GOMAD. How much water are you able to drink daily with all that milk? There is an age old debate on whether drinking a fluid like milk actually contributes to your hydration and from what I remember reading it doesn't. The absorption of all the nutrients actually disolves the fluid portion. So I for one would have trouble with this diet because I couldn't drink 2 gallons of fluid a day.

I am only able to drink a half gallon of water with the milk throughout the day. My urine is always clear though 24/7 so it must be hydrating me..
