Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2. am i realy the only one who cant stand it

i cant stand this game and for some reason all of my friends are obsessed with it. any others feel as i do:thinking:
 
I hate it. I got into it a bit. Now I love Bad Company 2 for the 360, and Monster Hunter Tri for the wii.

Problem is...I have very little game time :( I almost only turn on my xbox 360 now at night to watch something on netflix while I fall asleep :\

That being said, look into Bad Company 2. Worth it!!! Nothing like taking out a pesky helicopter pilot with a tracer dart/Gustav combo >:D
 
I def like the ww2 versions better (2,3 w@w).

The game tried to position itself far far away from all the mindless shooters out there (Unreal, Quake, Doom, Halo, etc). But with the rise of mw2 came a hoarde of douchebags, who ruin my fun.

Are there any other good shooters for xbox360?
 
Gears of War 2 is built for great multiplayer, I feel. In my opinion, it is still the best FPS on the consoles, with Killzone 2 being a close second, due to the sheer beauty of the graphics.
 
hells yes!!! i sold my x-box 360 so i dont own any consols anymore but i am still a diehard fan of any gears game
 
i get sick of it when u sit in a room with screen watchers or people who play it all day and u respawn and get popped immediately.

anyways, COD Black Ops is coming out soon and it looks pretty good.

I always recommend Bad Company 2 to my friends. Once you experience the Battlefield experience, you compare all other games to it(There is a reason there was Battlefield 1942 with 3 expansions,Battlefield vietnam, Battlefield 2 with 4 expansions, Battlefield 2142, Battlefield Heroes, battlefield 1943, Battlefield Bad company, and Battlefield Bad company 2)

And the TONS of mods that people made for the PC versions.

Honestly, Battlefield 3 has been announced. I think I jizzed a little in my pants:eek5:

Yes I am a big geek with anything Battlefield, Monster Hunter, or Mass Effect.

Otherwords Try Rainbow Six Vegas 2, amazing game, you and 3 friends can do terrorist hunts all night and never get bored. And it is very realistic, 1 stray bullet can put you down.
 
I was hoping we would see another Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare by now. Even though it was released early, it had solid graphics and great gameplay.
 
MW2 gamplay is much better then battlefield. Battlefield is slow to play but the game concept is excellent. I like hellis ,quads jetski etc also seems like a better group plays it BUt I do think people ruin MW2 all the cheats like auto-aim and god mode kills this game. But MW2 seems to have much more fluid game play then the others

MW2 is pure arcade play, its basically Counter Strike 4.0, as in 80% of players are 12-16 year olds jacked up on mountain dew, and 10 % are casual who probably dont enjoy it too much, and 10% are the gamers who can barely hold on but are still no match to the 16 year olds.

Battlefield games, utterly destroy most 16 year olds. It requires skill, thinking things out, and teamwork lol.

I am against MW2 because after prestiging a couple times you really see its flaws, in MW1 I kept a 2.15 KDR, in MW2 I left it at 1.60, and my best killstreak is 40-0

So I legitimately hate it because it requires nothing to dominate in it. Just being cheap.
 
I miss the old days when all my buds and I would set up the lan box in the garage, order 3 pizzas and game from 12pm to 12pm the next day straight... Now days if you even go to a lan room one guy is on myspace, another guy is on world of warcraft gaming all by himself, one guy is on modern warfare 2 and all by himself, the last guy is warcraft 3.... What happened to being 20 people in the room at a time and everyone agreeing on 1 game, then everyone playing teams on one game? That was the old days where coke cans were thrown at the other guys and pwnt, newb and ownt were screamed out at the top of your lungs... I guess I just aint 16 any more though, those years were the best however.....

I hate online play almost now days, people seem to find the one gayest strategies known to man then stick to it forever... I play Starcraft 2 beta right now because I am die hard old school gamer and you some of the total db strategies are just ridiculous...

OHh yeah I hate consoles also! I dunno I just grew up on pc where I had to go to dos and cd:/quake/quake.exe everytime I wanted to play a game... It is because of consoles that "nerds" or "geeks" are getting dumber and dumber, heck if you were at least a pc guy you might be able to find yourself a job outside of working at gamestop for the rest of your life lol.... I love the fact that when I get bored with a game I can launch my level editors, 3d studio max, etc and basically recreate my own game as I want it.

I swear if a geeks/nerds level of expertise is solely based on opening the cd draw and inserting disc and last but not least, pressing the big F***ing shiny button then he should just be bashed over the head. I love the fact that installing a game is fun in itself, I have options to set, bad ass pictures to see and let my anticipation burn, and then I have to update drivers, hex edit certain docs. etc so that I can even play the game the way I want to....

I have built 4 pcs, 3 robots, modified 2 videos (hard mod for voltage increase), overclocked god knows how many times both in bios flashing the video cards and cpu's. Heck I can just have fun on a nice cold day (when we blast the ac) just overclocking my pc to its 100% max. I have 4 different clock settings I run based on how hot it is in my house lol.

Consoles are a great thing for the gaming industry but will overall drag it down lower and lower as the hardware will never be able to handle the true potential of the software. It is alot easier for the dumb dumbs to use an that's why its such a kick, it is also "cheaper" however that is very relative due to the fact that pc is much more useful in more ways than just searching the net for porn and ebay...

Haven't gotten used to BC2. Not as fluid as MW2. Many say they hate MW2 because of the run&gun, and campers. Yet when I play BC2 I constantly die by those individuals. I get spawn killed more than I ever have in MW2.

Couldnt agree more. BC2 is almost all campers considering the sniper rife doesnt move it all . it just search and shoot no skill . most players stay on the outskirts with their sniper rife of what fun lol

I think over a year ago you mentioned you'd bought a new big screen, HD perhaps and a surround sound system. I think about that now because my wife has the "real" tv for her WII, whilst I play my x-box on a computer monitor sized, side tv. Some RPG's I can't play because I can't read anything, dialogue, prices on items or stat power ups. It's kind of funny, yet kind of lame...
 
I was an old school counter strike whore for a long while. Nothin' better than FPS' with a mouse and keyboard. WASD ftw. I'm all on board the MWF2 bandwagon, even though I play on the PS3 since my video card fried and the one I have now won't support crap.

As for Halo and Xbox... I'd burn both.
 
use to be real into it, now it just pisses me off to death sometimes playing.
i seriously need anger management since after that game.

Counter Strike was hardcore. I never got into that game out of fear of the freakish talent of the online players. Especially PC gamers.

I loved that game back in the day. Then it went from the 5.2 beta (money) to some 6.0 nonsense (total crap) and nerfed half the weapons and took away bunny hopping. :aargh:

I think DOD, Day of Defeat was fat better than CS(from teh same makers)

It had that beautiful K98,that in the right hands could turn a corner into an invincible stronghold. One hit kill, period. LOVED IT!!!

If you know what youre doing and dont suck, its easy to take those snipers out of the game. Kill them, work around them. In reality, a sniper is just a body that is busy not defending points. Learn to use smoke grenades and creep with a buddy and C4 the objectives.

This is true. One good counter sniper can take out an entire squad of snipers. I normally dont snipe, but if we are dealing with far too much mortar strikes/sniping, then I bust out the SV98 and rack up some headshots. Eventually the ones with weaker constitution hide or switch class, basically as a defender a hill full of snipers= easy win.

The CoD series is changing too much for my liking. It used to be all tactical considering a small, well-aimed volley was all you needed to make the kill, which gave it a head-and-shoulders win over all other fps shooters, but now its just doom with modern weapons. garbage IMHO.

but on your reccomendation Im going out to grab Bad Company 2. I actually spent hours upon hours playing Battlefield 1942 for Xbox live arcade. damn fun game.

PC gamers are on another level when it comes to FPS'. If you put a PC gamer in the same game as a console gamer, the PC gamer would own every time.

I'm still in the habit of bunny hopping on MWF, doesn't work quite as well but it saves my ass 20% of the time.

CS did go to crap after all the patches. I had my sensitivity set on about 35 at one point :D

Actually, that is not true at all - not even a little. I have a friend who competed in the ESWC (Electronic Sports World Cup) and WCG (World Cyber Games) [Canadian Qualifiers] for Counterstrike, and he is mid-level at best on console FPS'.

The mechanics of gaming on a console and a PC are entirely different. If you are saying that a PC gamer would "own" every time on a PC, indeed that is true. But the exact same holds for a console gamer "owning" every time on a console.

The skills with a mouse simply do not translate to the skills with a remote, and any professional gamer will tell you that. It changes the dynamics of strategy, how you react to angles based on coordination, etc.

Different worlds, brother man.

I've never understood how someone could be so much more dominate in an FPS game, when in my mind, your options for actions seem relatively limited. It boggles me when we play people so good that our team of 4 (on Halo) might not even get a single kill. Though I won't toot a horn about my own skills, the friends I play with usually dominate, until those uncommon moments when they meet up with some 13 year old prodigees that can rape a whole squad with single player.

Nor have I, but some people simply have the necessary hand-eye-coordination. And then it is also repetition, playing angles, and most importantly, knowing the levels. Those are the skills that translate on either console or PC.

I haven't been considered "good," since Halo one and the hand gun head shots. I was consistently man-raped in Halo 2 and CoD (any of them).

Off topic. I think I saw you on Fable II on x-box live like 2 years ago. Fable III is well in the making and the approach they're taking isn't a generic "from a nothing to a hero" path. I read the a summary of the direction they're taking and its certainly new & unique as far as RPG's go. A lot of the game is going to get revamped. It's going to be sick and detrimentally addicting I'm sure.
