Post your AndroGel Experience Here

I couldn't stand the odor and stickiness of Testim. It's supposed to be more effective than Androgel. Use Androgel for about a year (4pumps/day). It worked but I hated the sensation of rubbing KY on myself. Switched to injectable testosterone every 10 days. Still there today. Other than convenience, Androgel did what it was supposed to do.
 
Androgel shot my T levels down to 152 from 245. I am currently 2 weeks into test cyp injections. Hoping the injections work out better.
 
My Dr just put me on Androderm patches
1) they are irritable
2) they fall off
3) Damned expensive
4) Unsightly

Now he has told me that it would be happy to put me on something else if iprefer... I prefer, so question is what should i ask for?

Was thinking Test Cyp inj

Do they have to be administered at DR office? or can they be self administered at home? Should i also be asking for an AI?

think he would pescribe pretty much anything i asked for within reason
 
you can self inject or have someone do it for you. Testosterone enanthate (what i was prescribed) is VERY thick. I have to use a 22g needle and it's about 1.5" long (yep, big sucker). It has to go deep into muscle tissue so that's thigh or hip.

yea.. i have np to do myself thats great.. im on Test E right now UG labs but DR precribed much better

How much a week are you using? and is it twice weekly

why not try life extensions gel like I'm using...

I use the 20% and its badass....my T levels are 1100ng+ and my Free T is more than double the range. Its a tiny 1.5ml spready on my shoulders that I use daily. Absorbs so fast you don't even know what hit you. Literally 10 mins in it kicks hardcore. Its only about 20 bucks a month.

I'm going to do some research on that today. I do however like the idea of inj for several reasons. I know exactly what and how much test is going into my system. I'm totally happy to self admin my own inj and even legitamizes travelling with needles if on acycle
 
taking 15g androgel lowered my testosterone levels from 240ng/dl initially to 160ng/dl ,didnt work for me. I switched to cyp inj, later i found out that i was a rare case (hyper exscreter) so my body burns through hormones like crazy. I currently am taking 200mg a week (100 on wed, 100 on sun) with .25 Adex the day of/ after injects. test levels are concsitant at 1400-1450's. Just came off E3D injects due to a build up of hormone (achne and raging!)
 
Also for blood pressure, as a nutrionist, before you medicate or supplement:

1. if you have high BP: less than 1600mg sodium daily (if ur on meds) 2400mg is daily allowance, I always shoot for 1200 or less when developing programs.

2. drink a minimum of half your body weight in ounces + 20% of your weight daily!

3. Cut stimulants out or minimize them. for every 8oz coffee or 50mg of caffeine you need to drink and additional 24oz water to above prescribed amount. (i.e. 16oz coffee= 48oz additional water)

If you need to supplement:

1. Cheapest route- "No salt" in spices section at grocery store (potassium chloride 640mg per 1/4 tsp) mixed with crystal light lemonade! you can take up to 3g daily. The extra potassium helps your body purge subcantaneous water which puts less pressure on the heart.

2. Celery seed extract 150mg and hawthorn berry 1000mg twice daily.

If all this fails, consult with your Dr. about adjusting your trt medication.

How would that help traveling while on cycle though? You need the prescription label on all boxes of whatever gear your carrying with you. Unless you preload which would be an interesting situation.
 
ok so Doctor just prescribed Test Cyp

200mg EOW

shouldnt cyp be taken on a more regular basis than that
 
Ok so i just got doctor precribed Test cyp and my insurance doesnt cover

Rite Aide is $99 for

Test cyp 200mg/ml 10ml vial

Anyone have suggestion where i can get precription filled for the best price?

Maybe an online pharmacy? Any suggestions?

EOW is completely stupid.

You should take it twice per week. 50mg-Monday 50mg-Thursday

This will keep your blood levels stable. Otherwise, 200 EOW is going to cause a big spike and then a drop...overall its the same amount of test in your body, just distributed unevenly. 2x per week may not give the same immediate rush, but at least you won't feel any tapering off.

Oh yea, and a big shot like 200mg at once causes a little more aromatase. If you did 50mg shots, you would probably never need arimidex.

my doc is a good guy but dont think TRT is his speciality, im seeing him Friday and ill go over the inj protocols

so u wud go with Mon/Thurs type deal? i was thinking every 3rd day even

I started Androgel a month ago at 5mg.. TT 293 after one month TT at 123. The gel worked great for about 10 days then, as you see below where I started. My Dr, then put me on a compound gel.. 10% 4ml a day..! That seems high but I'm not real sure.. I have not seen anyone taking a dose that high or am I mistaken?

I'm getting more / faster hair growth on gels. Hair loss is only if you are already prone to male pattern baldness, in which case it's going to happen faster on gels (increased DHT).

There is a logic when using transdermal or injectable application.

Transdermal, only when there is need to raise DHT
Injectable, all other cases.

Transdermal raise DHT proportionally to used skin area.
1%Androgel will need 10x or more skin area than 10% T-cream

Many people do not like shots, doctors trying to accommodate look for high density (10% sometimes 20%) creams/gels.

Problem is that other that 1% Androgel
and
1% Testogel
all other creams/gells that are sold have questionable performance.
Even worst, performance vary from batch to batch.

So, if one needs to raise DHT, use BigPharma products (Androgel, Testogel).

Otherwise use injectable testosterone.

As long as he is willing to give you script for testosterone and any other medications that you will ask, plus any tests that you ask for,
you cant get much better.

You will have to do your own homework and fill in the details.

Depends on age. Most people with MPB will notice thinning in their 20s, but since you are young yourself, you're right, hard to know.

I started on HRT in my 30s, but had no thinning prior, and now have no thinning even with my DHT way over range.
 
What about people who will lose there hair at say age 35, if they start T gel at 25 would they start to lose there hair?

If you start losing hair are there any solutions that work? I'm guessing you could switch Testosterone injections for less DHT

Hair loss runs on father side but not mothers side
 
Did you know increase energy plus more lean muscle masS?

As long as you use HCG with Testosterone Gel. It is safe to stop Testosterone Gel any time?
 
The problem with androgel for me, I needed two 5G packs for a total of 10Gs. The percentage per mL is so low you are putting the stuff all over your shoulders, quads etc..just to get enough to get me into the upper 3/4 range. Ridiculous. Not sure why the concentration is so low.

That, and transferral if you have kids, swim in the pool etc...is a problem.

I like the idea of the morning peak that emulates the natural levels of normal healthy males, and really felt it within the first few hours and for several hours on.

You do get a BP spike, at least I did, nothing big, but my cardiologist was like, wow, you BP is high, and I had just taken androgel.

I went back to test cyp. Lesser of the evils I guess for me at this time, plus I can get 6 months of test cyp for $100...androgel on insurance would cost that much just for 1 month.

If you have to pay out of pocket Rite Aide is $80 Watson Test Cyp with free precription discount card

Also I've found local mum and pop pharmacy that will get Sandoz Test Cyp for $60, Sandoz is a good brand

You are saying that because you are, most likely using large and long needles and hate each and every injection and grabbing to any excuse you can find.

Try these

I wasn't worried abour the pinning, currently I'm using a 25g 1" and doesn't bother me, I was asking re the frequency due to the long ester of cypionate why EOD. I've been doing twice a week rotating my delts

How should I approach my doctor re GH and B12 shots

Having a little debate and i thought id return to this thread for advice,

Does it matter which muscle you pin in terms of absorption a guy in my thread and he has quite some exp so thought it was worth further investigation

He says that by pinning your Delts you are doing yourself a disservice and that the Androgen receptors in the delts do not allow for optimal absorption with glutes and quads being best

I was under the impression it really didnt matter IM was all about getting the Test into your blood stream, i do remember the first TRT shot i had was administered at my docs office and he gave it to me in the delt

What do you guys say ?
 
You're right. Shooting test does not have localized effects, although there is some discussion about test-suspension having some extra localized effect in very high steroid-based doseages.

I'm currently using test-prop for TRT, shooting eod. It is much faster to fill my syringe that way (using slin pins), as it's much less viscous. Test-cyp took about 4-5 times as long to fill. I just switched from gels, but still use a tiny bit of gels/cream on the nads twice per week because I need the extra DHT boost when on shots.
 
Use HCG if you want more estrogen. Gel is for women, not for men. If you enjoy riding a permanent hormone roller coaster with no hair and high estrogen have at it.

Couldn't be further from the truth.

SHOTS will increase estrogen more. Gels increase DHT more. Gels are for women? Wtf planet are you on? They make androgel, for MEN. T-cream, for MEN. You can get from 5%-20% gels. The 20% gels are equivalent to 200mg test per week. You must be living under a freggin rock. Gels mimick natural test production the MOST. High throughout the day, low at night. This is normal...not a rollvercoaster. Stop giving people bad advice before you know what you're even talking about. Do more research before choosing to post about this stuff.

My information comes from a doctor who practically invented the TRT movement 21 years ago. You can have fun with your 20% gel.

I used the patches and they worked perfectly didn't like wearing them but they worked just as good as my test Cyp

Really? Your doc is a f&*king moron...
5%-20% gels are FAR too much test for women.

I get my info from the leading HRT practitioners in the country, and from personal experience proven by LABS.. Dr John is one of the leading TRT practitioners in the world I'd say. If you want knowledge, talk to him or visit his forum.

20% gel is too high for TRT though. I don't use it. So... not sure what you mean. I guess my labs and hundreds of other labs lie about what shots do and what gels do to E2 and DHT levels? :rollseyes:

And gels are for women? Still can't stop laughing about that one =)

hey, i jsut started androgel at 5g a day, which is the lowest amount........will this do anything for me lol, also, i see uguys talking about compounding pharmacys which seem to give u alot more T for a lot cheaper, how could i go about getting this more T for less money, thanks alot
