19 year old has a question

Hey this is my first post. I'm 19 and just recently got into bodybuilding/working out about 6 months ago. I got a personal trainer that I go to 3 times a week, and he has me on a multivitamin, fish oil, 5HTP, a preworkout creatine supplement, T911 for preworkout, as well as MacroPro Protein for after the workout. I'm gaining alot of muscle, but as of late I feel like my mid section is getting alot bigger than I'd like. I can't really help it but my stomach is a big deal to me and I can't stand having this much fat. I jog like 2 miles at least once a week, so maybe I need to run more. My personal trainer wants me to do this UltraMass stack deal, but I keep reading on these forums and others that it is really not a good idea if you're under 21 because it can eff up your endocrine production. So I'm wondering if Yellow Thunder would be a good option for me? Would I be able to take that with the stuff I'm taking and still gain muscle while burning fat at the same time? I sure hope so. I'm just curious to see what you guys will say, I'm definitely open to any and all suggestions because I'm still very new to this, thanks.

Hey Brother. You came to the right place. Welcome! Props to you for coming here for some adequate info first before jumping into anything.

First off....DO NOT do the Ultra Mass Stack. You are correct that it can, and very well may, screw your endocrine system up. Just check out a recent thread started today...some kid did a 2 week cycle of M1T (an extremely potent and toxic PH) and now he's having a lot of trouble. At 6'6" 200lbs I couldn't imagine you having too much of a problem with midsection fat, but hey...you might. I would increase your cardio and make some adjustments to your diet first before jumping on a fat burner. A fat burner alone isn't going to do jack sh*t, your diet has to be in line first. So I would definetely start there before taking anything else. Your already taking a pre-workout (I would imagine this contains stims) and T-911 (yohimbine)...so I don't think you need anything else jacking you up at the moment. Dial in your diet and training and the fat will melt away. Or you could look into something like DCP or Forskolin (non stimulants that help to burn fat).

Also, watch out with your T-911 and your pre-workout drink. I see you say "preworkout creatine supplement". Is this just plain creatine, or is it a "preworkout" supplement? Pre-workout supps often have stimulants in them. The combination of Yohimbine and certain other ingredients often found in some preworkout supplements can have an adverse, and sometimes dangerous, affect on your blood pressure.

Ok. Thanks for the advice man. Maybe it's all in my head, I'm in no way shape or form fat, I just really would like to have abs of steel lol. The creatine I take now is just some kind of sour green apple creatine, I don't believe it contains any stimulents. I use to take SuperPump250 which does though but that **** made me too jittery. I take 5-HTP too because I've had some problems with depression too, and I was just reading that 5-HTP by itself doesn't do anything and that I should take melatonin also? I guess I should research DCP and Forskolin.. and I definitely need to get my diet in check. My personal trainer told me to just stay away from fast food and butter while I'm bulking up. I eat alot of sushi.. but somehow I am gaining weight in my midsection I feel like it gets bigger every day. He recommended Yellow Thunder but I figured I'd ask around first.

you may in fact just be holding water from the creatine. i mean if you're eating lean, that's your most likely variable.

and yes, staying away from prohormones at your age is the best decision you'll ever make in your life, seconded only by living a healthy lifestyle. welcome to AM my brotha.

Well I only mix 1 1/2 scoops of it with 16 oz of water 3 times a week pre-workout with my trainer, could it make that significant of a difference?

creatine does help you hold water weight, leading to a somewhat puffy look. if your calories have gone up for example by 1000 since you started working out, you're probably expending 500 calories in the gym during that hour of training, and your newly ramped up metabolism. that leaves only 500 calories to get bigger, which is considered a "lean bulk", which should not equal much if any fat gain.

while its possible your diet went up a lot more, and possible you are gaining fat, i think it is more likely to be water bloat.

Yeah, I think I just need to start running more often, lately I've only been running about 2 miles a week at about 6 mph. I bet that's not enough cardio for me. I got your PM and am going to read that post of yours as soon as I get done studying, though I cannot reply to PMs until I have posted 7 times so it seems.

its all good brotha. there's a ton of very intelligent people on this board, so i hope you stick around :)

u have to run at least longer than 20 minutes before u burn fat, your body only burns carbs the first 20 minutes of any cardio activity

Would you mind posting the source for that information? It seems unlikely.

OP, welcome broham. You made an excellent choice to come to AM seeking answers to your questions. As was said above, stay away from any PH including Ultra Mass Stack. Sage wisdom from my brothers. I would agree also, that you should focus on tracking and making changes to your level of cardio involvement as well as your diet composition. Small incremental changes can have a big impact. Stick around bro, you'll like this place and be infinitely more intelligent as a result.

does this still apply to HIIT cardio? I can do around 12-15mins of this and it kills me every time better than a long 'steady' jog/run

try HIIT, theres a new study that say that if you use HIIT i think it was 3x a weeks you can gain up to 2 pounds of muscle without even picking up a weight of course your training so you can easily gain more. its very good for the Lean look. im about to start doing it soon so good luck and remeber to consult if you have any doubts. also trainer dont know everything as you kinda almost learned first hand. if you would like to see some good diet plans check out the diet section which is a wondeful place to start. food is the number 1 supp!

HIIT really is the popular form of cardio right now it seems from what i understand its better then low intensity cardio at say like 50 minutes because your basically sprinting for 30 seconds taking a break sprint again, and your not only burning calories during the HIIT your burning them for some time after you even stop running which makes it so valuable. I usually do HIIT 3-4 times a week either after my workout or during an off day since im not trying to bulk whereas trying to just be physically fit this system is working for me.

Man this makes me angry, if your trainer would pay more attention to your diet and training and less time trying to shove drugs down your throat you wouldn't have to ask such questions. He's an a$$, drop him and drop him now. Any trainer that doesn't know your not ready for this kind of supplementation is an idiot. 19 years old you will grow without supps, protein powder and clean diet will get you where you need to go. Find a trainer that knows this and get him to teach you the right way.

Fugg!! If you were my son I would wipe the floor with him!!

deffinatly true, i would drop him. if you like his workouts then you should drop him and you can always use the workouts that you have been using. hes using you like a guinea pig.

hey bro reps for u for being smart and realizing that the ultra mass stack is a combination of prohormones and u will get effed up. as for the yellow thunder i wouldnt recommend it if ur not fat why do u need to take an ephedra based fat burner? like others have suggested try hiit cardio. and if ur worried about gaining to much fat, do it in the morning on an empty stomach but drink 15-25g of bcaas before you do so . also if u work out in the morning then set a carb cutoff at like 4-5pm and just eat fat and protein after that. it sounds like u have some decent supplements im guessing the creatine is Green magnitude ? good creatine. as for the t-911 make sure u dont take it for more than 6 weeks without a break.

I'm 17 and to get strong for powerlifting I did a cycle of finaflex (2 pills a day for 30 days) before the ban and used revolution pct for pct for 30 more days I stacked it with size on used animal pack and ephedra and whey and I had greas gains in stregnth lost prob 10 lb in fat and gained 10 lb muscle but ever since if I use any tipe of test booster or anything I breakout in pimples and I know it's cause somethings not right in my body so I just need to detox and take a break from serious supps for a while but if ur Gavin great gains and don't needa increase ur lifts for anything fast I would not reccomend taking anything that fools with your hormones or anything yet cause your gunna get stringer on your own still and u don't needa alter stuff... It's now worth it... Not yet anyway

It doesn't matter if he's not having great gains or not...he shouldn't be taking any type of PH at this age. Flat out...doesn't matter...end of discussion. If you want to increase your lifts...switch to a different type of training or alter your diet. It's as simple as that. You should grow like a weed at the age of 19.
And if you decided to run the Finaflex by yourself at the age of 17 then shame on you. You either didn't do your research or you were too stupid to see the obvious. YOU'RE part of the PROBLEM.

At least now you see that you shouldn't be running any of that stuff for some time to come.

im a sports science major in college u can find that simple information anywhere, even online. i also am a marathon runner. that the only way to burn fat without supplements is cardio for 20 plus minutes u ever want to find the information where i got it from its is

if u dont keep your heart beat up for 20 plus minutes steadly your only burning carbs after 2 hours your burning protein

get rid of your trainer if he is advising you to take hormones at 19.

and learn the rest by yourself it really is better if you learn stuff yourself. Diet is everything in the game. Learn every thing you can about diet. Diet needs to be learned even before some one lifts. If they lift and do not feed the muscle your simply wasting gym time tearing your body down

gains do not come overnight man it takes years to build a foundation with heavy weights and intense training then just maybe you'll be ready for hormones by the time your 25 if you decide to do that. I am not recommending that that is a personal choice

The best body fat is 10-15 % from a health standpoint. Currently since I am competitive in the bodybuilding world it is a whole different story and I have been where you are at at once time so i can look back and relate

ask yourself right now

what would you rather be strong and big with out a six pack?

or a six pack and adding muscle super slowly?

In my opinion and this is what has worked for myself if I keep my body fat lower I do not add muscle when take in excess calories I gain more muscle(and more fat) and when I lean down the next time (provided no injuries) I have added more muscle

To add massive size and strength surplus calories are required

My first nine months I started I got big and strong then cut for 5 months lost a lot of size and strength and wondered where all my strength went. After you get the size you can drop body fat down later. Keep that body fat in check though as long as it does not get too much.

Caveate on this too, the right amount of cardio for the right body type. Cario is, just an extra tool in your arsenal cuz you can't lift all the time. I burn a lot more fat lifting than I do with cardio. Diet is the most important thing. I know one person who gets to under 4 % and does 0 cardio. I have to do a lot cuz I am and endo. Were bodybuilders we don't want to look anything like marathon runners. I don't mean any offence but I would be remiss if I held my tounge.

Furthermore I would not recommend long cardio session as it tends to be quite catabolic. Running is one of the worst exercises for a bodybuilder, in my experience. I ran for years and wasted so much muscle.

Another exception for cardio; The practice of doing morning fasted cardio can circumvent the need to do sustained aerobic exercise for 20 minutes in order to begin the process of fat burning. At this bodily state there are no glycogen stores for the body to draw from so it immediately begins using fat for fuel. Just remember to stay in the fat burning zone so you don't burn protein instead. Doing cardio immediately following an intense weight training session also negates the need for a primer so to speak, as your glycogen stores will again be at a minimum if not totally depleted. It is all about timing in this case. Thus, 20 minutes of sustained aerobic exercise is not the only way in which to initiate the fat burning process.

Morning fasted sessions are helpfull yes. There is actually fat already in the bloodstream upon waking and an insulin spike will redeposit this fat. You have the opportunity to burn that off and some additional fat. With the use of BCAA's higher intensity cardio can be used as well.

Ok, gotta late bump this thread. If you live Bossier City like me (I'm assuming if you're in the 318) DO NOT JUMP ON THE MORON BANDWAGON. Sorry, I didn't read all the other posts and I'm sure there's been a ton of "don't do its", but I just have to look out for a fellow city member. Send a PM my way if you ever need a workout buddy.

Sounds like most trainers and nutritionist I know. They push the pills and supps to make money as they get a commission. A trainer that is worth a grain of salt will should be able to get your the desired outcome without the ph and over priced supps. Your in good hands here.

"OnMyGrind" Do you know if your trainer has anything at stake here. Does he have any connection with any of these products. He certainly is advising you to use a lot of stuff that is risky for you.

My experiences with 9/10 PT's is they are no smarter than you and I when it comes to nutrition and supplements. They just took a course and got a certificate. At the gold's gym I go to, the trainers actually turn to me for advice on supps, nutrition and juice. If your trainer can't get you on a solid diet/lifting regimen to help you then dump him. All that sH*t should come after you nail down your lifting and diet.

Absolutely. I have a hunch that this guy works out at the same gym I do. There is a trend going on around there, set by trainers of course (not me, not this trainer), and that's a bunch of people putting SD, PP, Tren, etc etc in their bodies without having the slightest clue of what they are doing. I have asked these people countless times what they have for a PCT, and the only thing they can come up with is an OTC AI like AromX, Novadex XT, and others. Then of course I ask "Why not a SERM?", and they say "What's a SERM?"

It's sad. In a few months this place is going to have a bunch of flabby chested "men" walking around.

LMAO .. this is exactly the same BS that I deal with on a daily basis.. A bunch of DumbA** think poping some CEL products everyday is going to get them jacked. And then they all turn to me for advice, having ZERO knowledge of what to do.. I'm so fed up with ignorance I'm just going to start telling people you need to dose SD at 100mg/Day to see results..

Ignorance is an epidemic. I've already turned a couple pre-21 people off from these products. I've actually pissed off one trainer because his client returned some PH that he sold him!

More and more people are coming to me for DS/PH advice. It's satisfying to see people trying to seek advice, but then again it's worrisome to have ALL THESE PEOPLE ask me for advice!

Try doing your run after your weights. You will deplete your carbs during your lift. then the run will be all fat.

It's scary how easy people turn to hormones instead of realizing their natural potential. And how they want the results but put no time/effort/concern into how this stuff can effect them. And like that trainer too many guys are out to get theirs selling this stuff to kids who look up to them bc they're bigger or stronger. But it definitely gets old repeating the same advice over and over as it often falls upon deaf ears.

my gym buddy[chubbinmuffin] is a bright kid trying to learn everything he can about these subjects. so he can save some of these kids if they have the smarts to ask around. usually just pointing them here and telling them no does the trick. oh yeah the PH epidemic at the gym is dumb.NO YOU ARE YOUNGER THAN 21 GTFO!

i think im gonna print out some fliers and take them up there that just say. "NO YOU ARE TO YOUNG PUT THAT DOWN!!"
