For those that cannot take Ephedrine.

I am one of the unfortunate people that has adverse reactions to Ephedrine. It gives me panic like feelings and rapid heart rate to the point that I feel short of breath. I have been a competitive tennis player for many years and would like to find a supplement that would help with bursts of energy needed during tennis but that will not give me the jitters. I have been pretty successful with No-xplode so far but would like to try some of the similar products. I was thinking No-shotgun but started reading about Jack3d and it seemed interesting until I started reading the details of 1,3 dimethylamylamin. Would anyone here have any recommendations of products? I am also curious if anyone here would have insight as to whether I should indeed stay away from 1,3 dimethylamylamin since I had these reactions to Ephedrine? BTW, I am 38 6' 2" 215 and I eat relatively clean diet.

Any feedback appreciated.

Scott

One additional note. I have also considered taking AP "Drive" or "RPM", or a stack of the two as well since they they are supposed to be supplement free.

You could use any non-stimulant energy product, or one with either mild or a low quantity of stimulants in.

Not sure what you mean by "supplement free". But both Drive and RPM are NATURAL products, with effective herbal ingredient profiles.

RPM is the "energy" product of the stack and provides clean, smooth energy. Drive would help better with endurance and speed endurance. This is a great stack for an athlete, and will help with athletic performance.

Thank you for the reply. I mean't to put "stimulant free" not "supplement free". Thanks for catching that. Do you think RPM would be a problem considering the fact that I have had issues with getting the "jitters" easy or is it a relatively safe bet? I have a feeling either of these or the both of them may provide what I am looking for during a tennis match that lasts 2 plus hours. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply with insight. Getting out on the court and ending up with the shakes and jitters from a product is no fun. :thanks:

Although RPM can be classed as a "stimulant" it does NOT have the side effects of one. As I mentioned, you do NOT get the jitters, but clean, smooth energy. I have never had a crash off it either.

I also just found the 'free sample' section on the AP website and e-mailed for samples of RPM and DRIVE.

Good stuff. Just to note that you should notice RPM right away, but you may not notice much from a sample of Drive as it takes 7-10 days to kick in. In saying that, when you use the samples, stack both of them TOGETHER.

I'd second that ^^^ Both are EXCELLENT products too (especially RPM), the Invalid Link Removed would also meet your criteria too and has had excellent feedback! (Using it myself atm).

Thank you for the advice. I have read some very good reviews on Pre Max. Would it be too much to use DRIVE/RPM daily and then Pre Max just before a match?

FocusXT by SNS is another good mental stimulant. It has the caffeine but it doesn't get you jittery. The mental clarity is what really shines with this product. The Drive/RPM combo gives you a great aggressive energy. This would be awesome while playing competitive sports. Motivate by AI is also a nice combination of mood/energy that you can make work for you as well. The options now-a-days are endless and fun to experiment with.

Scott,
the supps that you want to look out for are the ones that have a hefty dose of yohimbe IMO. It's fantastic when it's one of the "back seat" ingredients in small doses... for example, Redline is yohimbe heavy and makes some of the best stim junkies jittery. Meltdown and Adipo X have real low doses of yohimbe so you get good energy resuls but not the jitters.

RPM is also fantastic for what you are looking for. It's VERY versatile in that you can gauge your dosage based on your current energy levels. Let's say I'm feeling pretty good before a workout, I can get away with 1 or 2 caps. Let's say I'm feeling sluggish, I have dosed 3-5 caps and brought me back to life. All 3 that I mentioned are real good supps.

celc5, thank you for the response. It's interesting you mentioned Redline because that last case of the jitters on court was about a half hour after drinking a Redline that I decided to try. I had the jitters and anxiety that ended up making me leave the court to sit down for a while. After about 30 mins it went away and I was fine.

redline drinks are hardcore-if you have stimulant issues avoid all the redline products, meltdown also. i agree with celc-watch out for yohimbe, it can cause the same kind of reaction you experienced with ephedra. there are some good products recommended that should give you a nice boost/burn some fat and not put you over the edge.

Thanks for all the help and replies. This thread has been very informative for me and it looks like i'm now heading in the right direction with my goal.

procasoniod a great energy and focus product. it's a natural supplement and it doesn't have the negative side effects ephredrine does at all.

Scott,
It looks like you skipped the "starter" stims and went for the hardcore. There most definitely is a tolerance curve when it comes to stims. It has nothing to do with how hardcore workouts are or how talented an athlete is. It has to do with stim tolerance... ephedrine and yohimbe are not for beginners IMO.

Trust me, there's a lot of options that won't make you jittery. You've just been lead down the wrong path so far and it's gonna get better.

Thanks Celc5. Redline is one of the most common drinks available at the club I play at so I just grabbed a couple and didn't realize about the Yohimbe. I now have Yohimbe on my radar and I am convinced that was the issue. I will be avoiding it now since I know that it causes unwanted effects for me.

I'm definately known on some boards as a "stim wuss" So i do have some empathy when a stim wrecks somebody, especially if it keeps them up at night :angryfire: A few more than have worked well for me are Lipotrophin AM and Xforce. They're super mild, especially at 1-2 caps and might give you just a bit of an "alert" feeling that you are looking for... rather than cracked out stim attack that keeps us from performing in the gym.

Motivate by Anabolic Innovations is a good option as well. 1 cap has 40mg of caffeine. It does have Geranamine in it but you can play with the cap count to get the desired effects. Decent price as well.

Vapor XT hands down....very close to ephedrine in terms of energy, but zero anxiety, jitters, shakes, etc.
