Title says it all. What do you guys prefer and why?

post workout of course ;)

It doesnt have to be just post workout. Just which of the two would you be more likely to purchase and use would be the most appropriate question.

hrs is amazing but far more costly, i heavily prefer both to malto/dextrose/sucrose, etc

palatinose is great too (not so much for postWO though)

From the raw material pricing on HRS, it is not as costly as alot of people have been lead to believe. I dont know whether that is due to a price drop recently or just different sources, but it's really not that bad.

Now, I'm not saying its as cheap as malto or dextrose, but its not astronomical either.

As much as people talked about HRS in the past, I am surprised that this hasnt gotten more attention. :(

I actually through both tubs of WM away. It's nothing more than a simple carb. Corn starch and sugar are cheaper.

I respond much better to WMS than I do to basic dextrose, which is because I store more body-fat off dextrose than most people seem to.

My preference would be HRS though.

Still, WMS has its place and seems decently popular.

I saw a study done about a year ago comparing WM to regular dextrose. They measured insulin levels for several hours after ingesting each product and both followed the exact same insulin curve..

I saw reports both ways on WMS versus Dextrose. I do think its superior to dextrose, but its a matter of personal opinion. Seems to have always been conflicting studies and conflicting feedback on the two versus each other. For me personally, I store noticably less body-fat with WMS vs Dextrose, but that may not apply to most people.

^^^^^^^^^
I agree, a lot comes down to how the individual responds, but theres gotta be a good percentage for wms or rice tho:thinking:

In the overall market, WMS sells well so there are definately people that favor it for some reason or another.

HRS seems to have alot of potential and people talked alot about Omega's ONE. Thats why I am surprised your thread hasnt gotten more conversation going.

Yeah I was hoping to get people talking up in here :( hate it or love it, itd be nice to hear opinions

opinions are :welcome:

do you use any other type of product compairable to WMS / HRS or just nothing?

ive used WMS and i couldnt tell the difference between that and what i currently use a couple times a week, 16-20g dextrose.

of course, im not ragging on anybody using the two 'rapid' absorbing supps in question, im just saying my opinion and experience. that's all.

afterall, some guys can build muscle off of taco bell and papa johns :D

simple, 20 grams dex intra workout and 30 dex + 30 malto post workout with whey. you should look into buying a bag of dex and bag of malto, it may be cheaper than gatorade powder and there are no chemicals or HFCS. 10 pound thing of dextrose costs 20 dollars, same for malto. look for NOW brand, i order it from bb.com usually

thanks for the info!

sounds good brutha ;)

I have actually used pop-tarts in the past, and switched to rice cakes with honey for a long time until I performed more research on honey and decided the plurality of fructose wasn't conducive to my own ambition of lean muscle accrual; with special regard to my freakishly slow metabolism. VPX Stealth is my main stay and has been since early 2009 I believe, and if cost wasn't prohibitive my post workout shake would consist strictly of Vitargo and Hydro. Whey; but due to the patent monopoly held at the moment, prices seem to be situated.

I will admit however, that after an intense workout, based on so many years of research and self evident conclusively definitive findings... it is nearly impossible to store and covert ingested carbohydrates as body fat post-workout with the accompanying insulin release and higher metabolic demand for glycogen replenishment. I am slightly torn, because Stealth has elicited the most powerful effect of ANY post workout supplement I have ever implemented, but I am also a subscriber to the KISS mentality, and based on clinical findings, nearly any carb that imparts an insulin secretion/response and isn't in gluttonous excess will be used primarily to initiate the desired anabolic effect after a resistance bout.

yeah most of the psot work out studies are don on people who eat normal so it really doesnt apply to someone eating 5000 calories a day and I have kinda ame to the conclusion pretty much any post work out high carb, high protein meal will work similar I have a fondness of the pop tarts to usually I drink when concentrate and about 60grams of waxi maize then 2 pap tarts. Generic pop tarts are so cheap 1 dollar a box I actaullt here the pop tarts a lot I am sure jelly and white bread would be similalr. But I no it sounds totally stupid but it seems them pop tarts do work great and at a quarter for 2 what the hell lol
