Do you take/drink a supplement DURING your workout?

Like many others, I take a preworkout energy booster and also get some protein into my system.

After my workout I drink a high quality protein drink.

However, I see some of the guys in the gym drinking during their workouts. What could that be?

One guess would be distilled/filtered water (maybe they don't like the water at the drinking fountain).

It's also possible that they are consuming some sort of supplement, and I was wondering what that might be.

Any ideas?

Do you take/drink a supplement during your workout? If so, what is it?

I drink Body Mortar during my workout.. alot of people do this (BCAAs) during their workout.

Purple Wraath or RecoverPro. Minimum dosage required, usaully.

I have tried a few actual intra drinks with protein, and I just cant stomach them during a workout.

It's most likely BCAA's as everyone has stated. Scivation Xtend is some great stuff (I personally love it and the taste is amazing). Also, Purple Wraath is great stuff.

Agreed, BCAA's.

Might I add, AXcell and RecoverPro are solid products also.

If you are consuming a pre workout drink and a post workout drink, than an INTRA is really pointless and silly. You're probably better off without in regards to hormonal response.

Intra-Aid here, it's the bodybuilders workout drink.

There is a lot of new research that supports the use of intra-workout drinks and how they are beneficial to both performance and anabolism/anti-catabolism.

Depends on my goal at the time, if bulking something with a little carbs and protein + EAA's/BCAA's, or if cutting then just EAA's/BCAA's.. I stocked up on a couple tubs of Wraath, definitely a staple.

I personally dont bother with BCAA's Intra workout i have a tub of Intra-aid and i only use it for my long workouts that are like 50-70 minutes or so. But normally i get it done in 30-45 minutes and with the Preworkout supps and post workout nutrtion i dont feel the need for it. But to each there own.

intra workout i've been just using electrolytes lately... using the bcaa's before and after in pre and post workout drinks- MusclePharm's Recon (post) has a great amino acid profile...

purple wraath (or purple intrain) during the workout is priceless, thanks for the support guys :)

Many drink a mixture of dextrose and some type of quickly assimilated protein source.

The simple sugars are supposed to blunt the rise in cortisol brought on by resistance training quite significantly.

chain'd out all the way, better for the buck than xtend and i don't like all the beta alanine in purple wrath
