intra workout supps.

quick question if anyone can help. Ive been using white flood and green mag for a few months now with great results, lots of good clean energy. I started to see these intra workout supps such as purple wraath and purple in train. i figured i would give in train a try and got nothing but the sh*ts after every workout. i discontinued use and resumed drinking the green mag during and after my workout with good results. i was curious if anyone else had problems with intra workout drinks and bcaa's. i get good bcaa's in my pro complex and my torrent. is this enough?

get some LG BC+EAA, its a good blend of branc chains and essentials, cheaper then torrent as well :)

xtend is awesome dump in some aakg and some glutamine and your done son, but im gonna switch over to purple wraath give that a try

I can't believe I forgot to mention THERMOGUM. Although it does not have aa's, it gets you through a workout. Good ****!

All the intra workout supplements already mentioned are great choices my current intra workout supp is Intra-aid only problem with it i find is it gets clumpy a lil but no big deal it profile is great, never tried extend but heard wonders about it. As far as intrain ive never used it either but ive used purple wrath which is very solid and i can only imagine intrain is better then that.

try purple intrain, not only is it a great product, but will get your CL upc code count up ;)

I enjoyed using Universal Intra-Aid.

Intra-Aid is a great choice and is the bodybuilder's workout drink. In one serving you get:

8 grams of high quality hydro whey
10 grams of free form amino's including beta alanine and all the EAA's (these are key to protein synthesis)
a great carb blend
electrolytes

There won't be any digestion issues with Intra-Aid, we use a very high quality protein.

I have used Xtend for a long time too. Recently I got some Chain'd out by ALRI when it was on sale. The taste is awesome (I have berry banana) and the tub has lasted me a really long time. The best thing about the flavor is if you add more water it just makes the taste fainter without being gross. Definetly was not the case with LG BC+EAA, if I drank it with anymore than 10oz of water it was awful, a few (not all) Xtend flavors were the same way.

why is it that TONS OF COMPANIES pair Free Form Aminos with WHOLE PROTEINS????

they dont act the same when taken with whole proteins

best bet is, purple wraath, or chaind out with some carbs added in

AXcell doesn't contain whole proteins.

The Artic Berry is great. I sip on it all day.
The Orange is a little too tart for me.

Cool, that's what I like to do too, mix one serving in a 24-32 oz of water in the morning and at night (addition to my workout serving) for a little flavor in my water and to keep the amino's flowing. Does the flavor hold up in larger amounts of water?

yes, purple wraath is a great choice. with that being said, the protein in purple intrain is hydrolyzed, so its not a typical whole protein source

I mix 1 1/2 scoops in 20 ozs of water and it's pretty strong, so a few more ozs of water shouldn't hurt it. Dosing is 2 scoops for BW of 160- 180lbs.

well my professor and the book only discuss whole proteins and have not discussed hydrolyzed proteins interaction on Aminos any info on this? as when taken with a normal whole protein source the aminos are seen as just ANOTHER part of Protein not as special aminos as they are

In an article I was reading the other week, was saying how hydrolyzed protein, since its broken down into amino acids, is more anabolic than other proteins, and amino acids from hydrolyzed protein are a faster trigger for anabolic response (compared to free amino acids). I don't remember the exact article, but hope that helps

That being said, Purple Wraath + Purple Intrain is my favorite for intra, and using 1 of each extends the value of PW instead of using 2 PW like my taste buds like

Purple Wraath
RecoverPro
BCAA's
EAA's
Xtend

All good stuff that i would recommend for intra.

I dont personally care for protein type drinks during intra.

there is no specific info I have seen, but it wouldnt make sense that this would occur.

mot what i was exactly talking about.... when free form aminos are taken with a whole protein source they are seen as just regular protein and not as independents as they should be, saying that the effects of leucine will not be as effective if taken with food. t

this is why supplement companies always suggest taking aminos away from food, BCAA especially

well you;d have to argue that with the author of every single sports nutrition and nutrition book i have seen, they all say keep your free form aminos away from whole protein sources, and i will assume hydrolyzed is seen as such until i see differently

i was specifically referring to hydrolyzed
