2009 College Football Season

I'm here. It should be a good game next Saturday. I'm thinking LSU may pull the upset but I am a little biased. The Tiger's offense will finally come out firing on all cylinders next week and pull a major upset to the tune of 24-7. :sorry:

Mike will be dining on chunks of elephant throughout the week in preparation for the slaughter.

Bama scoring only 7 points -- I can definitely see. LSU scoring 24 -- not so much! Whether it's a Tide win or a Tiger upset, I'm thinking along the lines of 16-13.

I know everybody despises Lane Kiffin and it's obvious why you do, but does anybody besides me think that 2 years from now he will have that program near the top of the SEC? Especially if daddy hangs around to coach the defense.

Shhhhh. Quiet, man. That's crazy talk!

Unfortunately, yeah. As long as the Vols play in the SEC and Neyland stadium seats 100,000+, Knoxville will provide appeal for 4 and 5-star recruits. He's got the staff, and Alabama provides the only real competition for recruiting within Tennessee. (Bama owns Memphis right now.) His pops is a defensive genius, so you can forget running up points on 'em like at the end of the Phat Phil era. Yep, they'll be scary... and I'll demonize Lame and hate him with great enthusiasm. Should be fun!

Vols will be back to battling for dominance in the eastern division in the next year or two. A Monte Kiffin defense is a scary thing and I'm sure it is a great job for him getting to spend time with his son everyday so he will be around as long as Lane is or whenever he decides to retire.

Sure. Tennesse was always a great program, so I'm sure they will be back Kiffin or no Kiffin.
Just one small problem in the near future - they've got no quarterback after Crompton (not that Crompton was anything special).

Ya as long as Monte is around the Vols will be competitive in the near future. After that I don't see them doing so well.

That hatred that everyone has for Kiffin is going to make for some great football, football is soooo good when there is a mutual dislike by the teams involved. As a football fan I look forward to seeing this unfold in the next few years it should be interesting.

alright bucknuts... lets talk smack. ohio st at penn state. I hope your practice game with NMst paid off...hahaha

I'm optimistic that we can win this game and the Iowa game both, I'm also realistic enough to say we could lose both and finish with 4 losses for the first time in a while. The NMSU game was a joke I was amazed at how little fight there was in that team. In spite of that though Pryor still barely managed to complete 50% of his passes. The best pass of the day was DeVier Posey's 30 yard strike to Dane Sanzenbacher, after that I kept yelling "put Posey in" after every bad Pryor pass.

PSU has had an entire season of these scrimmages time for your 2nd test, you failed the first.

really?? michigan in the "big house" a scrimmage. We beat ourselves in the iowa game. yeah, we had akron..temple..and E Illinois and we played terrible in those games. I've noticed a huge improvement in the O-line the past few games. If we keep pressuring pryor, the game is ours.:flowers1:

plenny did you see meatchicken saturday against the illini? that's not a good football team. We beat Illinois like a red headed step-child and we are an average football team offensively. I do agree with you on Pryor though if our line doesn't play better and he is forced into making quick decisions that doesn't bode well for my Buckeyes.

3 days until LSU vs Bama. I can hardly wait.

TIGER BAIT! TIGER BAIT! TIGER BAIT!

As far as Les in Michigan I don't know. I've heard his wife HATES the cold weather up north so that could be a huge influence on whether he goes or not. I'm sure if they threw enough money at him his wife could buy enough fur coats to deal with it.

He makes a pretty decent salary at LSU though and Michigan isn't known for throwing huge amounts of money at coaches.

Sup everyone, long time no chat. Just stopping by to pass along a couple of vids... Enjoy

I enjoyed the smack guys. But I cannot talk smack to obviously superior teams. There is nothing that I can say to justify a d@mn thing that this f*cking team is doing. I need a break. Maybe Weis fat @ss will be gone and we can regroup in a few years. For the talent....we suck. Im still a fan, but this is just putred. F*ck weis and his f*cking super bowl rings. That ain't sh*t in college. Looks pretty, but has no place. Good luck to Bama and FL, even though you can't both have it...and Penn State too plenny my man. Hang in there.

Here's a topic for later discussion...
Why do teams with talent play DOWN to sorry @ss teams? The world may never know.

Well, I guess if I'm going to take the glass half-full approach, I'll find some comfort in that Bama just played the worst first half of their season on both offense and defense -- and they're only down by 4.

To the Tide OC: Give the ball to Ingram. Repeat.

It's scary to think how much better Alabama could be if McElroy continues to gain more momentum and confidence the next few games...

Phuuuuuck... the injury to Cal's Jahvid Best didn't look good at all. Thank God the most recent report included the news that he has movement in all extremities.

While I agree with you about Ohio State, don't be so sure about Iowa. Iowa's offense won't scare anyone either and our defense is better. I'm pretty sure we will beat them in Columbus, Ohio in November along with Penn State and Michigan in their buildings to win the Big Ten title again and to the horror of all go to yet another BCS bowl game. :nana:

Step one complete and after we beat Iowa next week in Columbus, and Michigan in the big sh!t house in 2 weeks we will be playing in our 8th BCS bowl in 11 years and claim our 5th consecutive Big Ten Championship. GO BUCKS!!

2nd test = 2nd fail for Penn State. Bucks defense was awesome today, if not for the Clark touchdown that wasn't it would have been shut out # 4 on the season. Pryor played better than I can remember him playing, and we ran it well against Penn State. Penn State's schedule was a joke this year and created an inflated ranking and inflated statistics.

See you in Atlanta, Florida Gators!!! S-E-C! S-E-C!
So, for the 4th year in a row, the "National Champion elect" will emerge from Atlanta in a battle between undefeated #1 and undefeated #2. CBS loves the SEC.

alright bucknuts my arms are tied behind my back and my mouth is duck taped shut..now let me have it.
BUCKNUTS wants you to get on all fours like in Pulp Fiction.

I'm real happy for ya. Do you get a really, really big trophy for winning that Big Ten thing????

Not to worry BabyHulk. I can't imagine that loss to Navy not putting the nail in the Charlie Weis' coffin. The talent is there so he either can't coach or can't motivate (I think it's both).

There is no way the ND faithful suffer this fool another year - and they shouldn't have to. (Just stay away from Urban Meyer thank you). :wave2:

I tried to tell everyone that Navy was a good football team when they gave my Buckeyes a scare early this year. Go look at their past 3 years and you will see they have upset ranked team 3 years in a row now and have been to bowl games 6 straight years.

My dream scenario would have both teams lose a game and miss the NC game that would do my heart some good. I don't think it will happen but hey dare to dream.

That's disturbing to actually think about.

I know we get no respect because of our performance in the NC games against Florida and LSU, but our record stacks up against anyone the past 10 years. In the bcs era we are top 5 in totals wins, bcs bowl appearances and bcs bowl wins. Say what you will, hate if you want to I couldn't care less we have been and will continue to be a factor on the national scene.

I'm just glad to have you back to talk smack BUCKNUTS!

And I'm a little pissed off that you dressed down the Lions (my 2nd favorite team). Complain all you want about Pryor, but Clarke is the real Jekyll and Hyde. What the hell was he doing yesterday???

I'm just glad to have you back to talk smack BUCKNUTS!

I can't help myself I have a lifelong addiction to this team. I told my wife wife once that the Buckeyes were my first real love, she rolled her eyes and made some comment about my maturity level.

If you told me one of the QBs in that game would look clueless and the other was going to play as well as he ever has, I would guessed it would be Pryor who looked clueless but it was def the other way around. The defense had a lot to do with that though they have been big for Ohio State all year. I really do think their easy schedule had a lot to do with the outcome of this game. You have commented on what a joke that schedule is, it does nothing for you in my opinion to schedule doormat after doormat non-conference and then play really bad Big Ten teams Illinois and Minnesota. PSU has only played 2 teams worth a crap and lost to both, I wouldn't be suprised if they lose to Michigan State in 2 weeks.

Yep. I've always said that their strength of schedule was detrimental to them, although next year they do schedule Alabama (talking about going from one extreme to the other!!). I admire teams that schedule elite non con opponents early on as OSU did with USC and Oregon with Boise State.

Going forward though, nothing will help the Big Ten as much as getting another team on board - splitting into divisions - and scheduling a Conference Title Game. When other teams are playing at their highest level into December while Big Ten teams are sitting around eating Thanksgiving leftovers - that's their real Achilles Heel IMO.

I couldn't agree more and there are no shortage of teams either Cincinnati comes to mind immediately and there are other good candidates as well. All that time off before bowl games is brutal. I think a conf. championship game and even a bye week to extend the season a few weeks would be a great idea.

Cinci, Pitt, or West Virginia would be great additions.

yeah we had a soft non conf. schedule, but the problem for the lions most of the season was the o-line which was inexperienced. What about the almighty Gator's soft OCC schedule?? (((crickets)))

The most disappointing part of the OSU/PSU game was how ohio ran 200+ tds on the lion defense. The iowa loss was a result of turnovers..We outplayed them otherwise. Anyway we have a nice return of players for next season, so look out Alabama!!!!!:13:

Just called Alabama to warn them about the 3rd-best team from the world's most over-rated conference returning mediocre players, and here's what I got:

"Hi, you've reached the University of Alabama football program. We can't come to the phone right now, as we have a conference championship game to play in, a national championship to compete for, and we're relevant. Please leave a message... ((Elephant roar))"

Face it Plenny, Penn State is G A R B A G E. Now that the trash has been taken out, you can watch Alabama vs. Florida in the SEC championship game. The SEC sends its warmest regards.

ENJOY!

Noted and agreed about 200 posts ago. But it was also noted that this year's soft non-con schedule was the exception rather than the rule for the Gators, unlike PSU where it is THE RULE.

LMAO

Ryan Mallett will break the Razorbacks single season passing record this Saturday. I feel that next year all of you SEC guys should be nervous.

EVERY SEC game makes me nervous!! That's what makes the SEC so special! It's rarely automatic, unlike, say, some of the Big Ten mismatches like Purdue vs Ohio State (oh, sorry BUCKNUTS, that wasn't a good example).

No Penn State doesn't play in the SEC rubbering they are in the Big Ten the conference that everyone loves to hate.
