Raw Milk

Anyone here drink it? I have read that it doesnt cause lactose intolerence. Any truth to that? I might give it a try.

The pasteurization process destroys enzymes and bacteria. Interestingly it's not a lactase enzyme that is denaturated, but rather bacteria that can digest lactose that are destroyed by the heat. There doesn't seem to be a definitive answer but it might be worth a shot. A great article that discusses this issue Invalid Link Removed

That was a great read. I will just try it and see. I will report back.

I've been drinking raw milk for the last 2+ years and have had no problems with it.
Before getting my first gallon, I read up on all the info (including lots of scare talk) and finally decided to give it a whirl.
I did buy it from a farm in TN, now I live in CO and have a cow share and the people that run the farm are vets (and test the milk) so I'm confident there won't be any issues.

Yes, I drink primarily raw Goat Milk. Was a bitch to source, but its amazing.

For those with milk allergies, the offending protein in cow milk is alpha S1 casein protein. It may be that people are not lactose tolerant at all, but
instead is one of the 1-in-10 people who are allergic to the major
protein of cow's milk (alpha S1 casein protein.)

The symptoms are almost identical to those of lactose intolerance. Both goat milk and
human milk lack this offending protein.

if you watch dr. oz, apparently goat milk can make you live longer. forgot the reason, but some country which uses it as its main source of milk has one of the highest average life expectancies. i bet it tastes really good. tried that oryx goat protein a while back... best tasting stuff around but it was expensive.

I have heard the bacteria in raw milk breaks down the lactose, so theoretically if you are lactose intollerant you should be ok, so maybe give it a try, but start with a small amount...I hear raw milk while bulking is very good, and that this type of milk has a lot of anabolic properties that are not completely understood.
