2009 College Football Season

Regardless of the outcome of this Texas-OU debacle, the Longhorns are hands-down the most over-rated team in the top 25. McCoy isn't the same QB as last season. Even with OU's best player on the bench, Texas was losing the time-of-possession battle and had less than 50 yards total offense at halftime.

McCoy for Heisman... are you kidding me???

I don't care if Alabama and Florida both lose two games the rest of the way... Texas couldn't beat either of them under any set of conditions. If the Sooner defense is shutting them down, then they'd really be overwhelmed against the Gators or Tide.

If there's an argument for Boise State... and I didn't think there was... the Longhorns are it.

No they aren't that distinction belongs to my Buckeyes.

Well we got outplayed on both sides of the ball again today. The o-line couldn't block anybody again, we couldn't run it , couldn't throw it and there was pressure on nearly every pass play. There were no holes for the backs to run through either, in summation our o-line sucks ass. Pryor had 2 fumbles and 2 int and continues to regress, the guy has no clue and it's very frustrating to watch this farce week in and week out.
The defense has carried this team to this point in the season but they didn't show up today they moved the ball at will on us today and only a few untimely turnovers prevented this from being a lopsided defeat.
The special teams weren't any better than the other 2 phases, we fumbled a punt and a kickoff.
So it was a total team suckfest, some how we only lost by 8 points, the score should not have been that close a better team would have destroyed us today. We could lose 2-3 more games this year our offense is that bad.

Here's the upside for Irish fans: It took USC an entire 9 plays to get into the end zone. That's a definite improvement.

Just kidding, BH. It's still early.

EDIT: ND just scored their first TD against USC in 9 quarters. Hmmm... the number 9. You know what this means, right? The Irish will score on a 9-yard pass with 9 seconds left for the...

9-point loss.

Its still early, bt we gotta learn to tackle people.Thats high school man. It might reflect different if we would tackle. Stop giving up the d@mn 30+ yd plays. F*ck.

Actually, limiting USC to field goals is a moral victory at this point. Might help if Clausen could throw the ball against this defense. Right now, with 2 minutes left in the half, he's 7 of 14 for 46 yards. That won't get it done. Oh wait, Barkley isn't doin' much better, so...

If clausen had as much time as MB, look out. That aint happenin either. Our line sux compared to SC's. But that fumble recovery with 1 min left should have been ours. Its weird how an intentional grounding call let them keep possession.

There are no moral victories. Even after the Bush Push. You can't go on hopes and dreams. True, it starts there first, but you have to act on it.

Its a shame that our D cannot protect the qb on a 3-4 man rush. If TT's line couldn't do that, FL would be singing a different tune this year. That sh*t is unacceptable. Win or lose, they shoud make adjustments after this season. Hands down. Basics win football games. Tackle, Clock management, Running, Passing...and the biggest yet...NO stupid penalties!!! Thats why Alabama is doing what they do. Its called smash mouth football.

Nah, it was good officiating - horrible announcing. It was definitely intentional grounding. A forward shuffle pass to an ineligible receiver. He was definitely trying to get rid of the pigskin. Those NBC idiots are an embarrassment.

You know, my buddy laughed at me today when I said I didn't have a good feeling about S. Carolina. If the Tide come out today and knock the 'C0cks all over the field, I might be so bold as to call Bama the best team in the nation. However, if they play down to their competition, as they have in years past (last year vs. Kentucky, Utah), then there's been no real upgrade in Tuscaloosa. They have to learn how to win when the stakes don't appear to be high. If they look ahead to Tennessee, then Spurrier will make them pay. Saban's never come close to beating that guy.

WOW at all those Gator fumbles. Even so, I'm shocked at the way the Hogs' defense has played through 3 quarters. Problem is, Arkansas just can't capitalize on the turnovers.

EDIT: Nevermind, Superman just woke up.

Don't get me wrong, it benefits Alabama greatly if Florida goes undefeated... but the Hogs are gettin' some serious help from the zebras in the 4th qtr.

I'm SAYIN'. Can someone explain that unnecessary roughness call 20 yds from the ball?

These soph Hogs are really making me look forward to the next 2 years. J Wright and G Childs are hometown boys.

Gotta give props to the Arkansas defense today. Problem is, Florida's defense is playing lights-out when they need to. A Bama-UF match-up at this point might end 9-6 either way.

Poor Irish.

Congrats on a USC earned win. Good job guys. If jimmy stays...watch out again next year. I say we faired ok against a #6 defense.

You might be the most positive person I know.

Losing at the last second by a TD is being over positive against a supposed #6 D?

Most people including MMay said we wouldn't even freakin score. F*c mark gay and all the f*cking pundits who said we wouldn't come close. We faired decent. Sure, we should
've won, but you can't win em all. Oh well, no moral victories. There's always next year.

Welcome to the thread. :)

My boys were tested; gave up turnovers like it was nobody's buisness; but they know how to get it done in the end.

GO GATORS!!!!!!!!!

Yes. C'mon, man, ND hired Weis to win this and the Michigan game. It's been 4 seasons now. How long do you hold on to these little victories? No disrespect... but you should be furious at that coaching staff.

Ive been calling for Weis head since he got here. WTF don't you understand? What's wrong with finding light out of a loss? None IMO. Sorry everyone can't be Alabama! Your day will come. So will ours. One day we wil be back on top. Its just a matter of getting the right people in the right places.

I hope we get to see an SEC championship of the ages! As it stands, we're on course. GO SEC, Baby!

BH... I empathize with you. You're misunderstanding me. I'm not hatin' on your positivity. I already explained the Shula years to you. No one's proclaiming Alabama champs. Quite the contrary, I give props to Florida at every opportunity. But if Saban continuously lost to Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, and/or Florida... I wouldn't blow sunshine up my own ass over it.

Im not blowin sunshine up my ass. Im trying to find positive after a devastaing loss. I could give a d*mn about Weis. He just earned another f*cking 5 years. I'm more concerned with our program as a whole. The depth, and experience is there. Its just too bad the HC is not all of what he's paid to be. I feel for Jimmy and people who make that d@mn team. People with heart and soul for the game. Playmakers. It's the people who don't get a salary that I care about.

I feel ya... but the players aren't getting "coached up" like they should. It's one thing to have access to top recruits, but it's quite another to be able to coach them into being top-notch college-level players. That's what guys like Carroll, Meyer, Beamer, and Saban are able to do. Weis' salary is on that level, but his results are not. The only reason Clausen has grown as much as he has is more to do with the specialists he has access to in the off-season.

I again concur. I don't like weis, nor do I think he deserves another season. Bottom line. But if I want to try to get good things from bad ones, there is nothing wrong with that. Or I could just f*cking kill everything around me.:zx11pissed: That wouldn't fare to well. So I just find comfort with what I may.

Btw... I'm getting pretty tired of hearing the football media's misuse of the term signature win. It's enough to make me gag. If you haven't had your signature win by the end of your third season as head coach... you missed it. Period.

Well, I suppose my fears were validated in the first half. Besides Mark Ingram, Bama's looking like crap on offense tonight. Not an offensive TD yet on either side.

Hopefully Bama will get better calls than those 2 VERY questionable calls during the game winning drive. A wins a win but this one was definitely wind aided to use a track and field term.

I'll agree those two calls were sketchy to say the least. Especially the personal foul on the Hogs' #96. He was about to get blasted by the Gator o-lineman 15 yards away from the play. Not sure what else he could've done, except to lower the boom.

But I'll say this: Arkansas had multiple chances to pull out a win today, but they just flat-out couldn't get it done. That's a credit to UF's defense, whether or not their offense had help from the officials. No way I could've seen Mallett winning an OT shoot-out on a short field.

OMG!!

It's soooo obvious after today Atlanta will be the real National Championship and there is only one serious Heisman contender.

I'm just praying Texas makes it to the NCG game to be served up to the Tide or Gators like a fat honeydew.

PS - "swim" great game today with your Hogs who took us to the brink. SEC football at it's best.

The way Bama's offense is looking tonight, I'm not convinced they'll see you there. The QB needs to put down the Kool-Aid and realize this only the halfway point of a very long season.

And what the hell happened to Julio Jones?????? I vaguely remember him.

Mallet missed some wide open receivers today 2 in in the end zone and he flat out missed them, no credit to Florida's D on either of them those throws were terrible. Throw in the 2 missed field goals and Gators fans should be thanking their lucky stars(and the officials)

How about the dropped interception by Haden, or Riley Cooper dropping a wide open pass that would have easily been a touchdown? All the "What If's" today. Florida had as many lost oppotunities on offense as they did; however, they gave up 4 turnovers; and guess what, they STILL won the game. That's what winners do; they find ways to WIN games in the end; even when they're not playing at their best. Quit being a passive aggressive whining little b*tch already.

BTW - How was the OSU game today? How's Pryor working out for you, champ? Boilermaker much?

:haha: "Passive aggressive whining little bitch"? hahahaha that made me laugh. I'm not sure how you arrive at that conclusion but ok. I'll take that with a grain of salt from a New Englander who's a HUGE Gators fan.
Yeah we suck and I've been hatin on Pryor forever, that don't change the fact that your Gators got lucky and got a lot of help today. You are a very sensitive fella I gotta say, heavy is the head that wears the crown?

There were a few losses in the top ten this week, if they let me pick the top ten teams (and they should) it would look like this.

(1) Alabama - great defense and running game = championship formula
(2) Texas - Best qb in the country and a good defense
(3) Florida - needed to much help to get a win this week.
(4) Cincinnati - Best team in Ohio. They don't get the respect they deserve
(5) Iowa - Best of the lowly Big Ten probably couldn't beat the worst SEC team but 7-0 none the less.
(6) Boise State - I despise them but they are unbeaten and a good team.
(7) TCU - Haven't watched the Horned Frogs play this year but they are a major unbeaten at 6-0.
(8) Miami(Fl) - Toughest schedule in the country and that makes them top 1 loss team in my book.
(9) USC - Next years national champion, talent at every position but a year away.
(10) LSU -Not an elite team this year in my mind and I've watched them play a couple of times.

Well there's my top ten what do you guys think? what would you change?

Note to the Florida guys: This is strictly my opinion and last I checked Obama had not yet taken away that right(yet) so please refrain from your usual name calling and hurtful comments, I do have feelings you know.

Dear Auburn,

Welcome back to reality. Consider begging Tubs to come back before he takes the TAMU job.

P.S. ROLL TIDE!

It's called a "general observation." Not too hard to come by considering the obvious demonstration. I live in Florida (Tampa). Maybe you should observe that as well? My wife is a Gator alum, so I'm affiliated in every sense. I've been to at least 4 games/year since 2005 in Gainesville. Did you attend Ohio State? Better yet; any affiliation at all with the school?

Just in case you were wondering; I take just about everything you say with a "grain of salt", chief. You can be sure of that. :loser:

Sensitive? LOL! I think you're more likely just the clueless muse my friend. Keep drinking that mystical "Kool-Aid" that has you confabulating as you do.

Have some :flowers1:
