Tyler4's First Log **P-Plex+Epi+DC=Mass!**

Diet Update

I have changed some things aorund with my diet. I dont neccesarily eat the same things everday, but more or less just shoot for proper nutrition.

My afternoon snack is now brown rice and ground beef. And my lunch has been 8oz chicken and 2 WW wraps. I'm trying to only consume fruits either pre or post w/o. Other than that, it's mostly the same.

I get bored easy when I eat the same things so I change it up often.

Day 29

Tri Pushdown: "100" 8/5/3. The weight is weird on this machine. I remember when I worked out at the fitness center near me, I was WEAK but my sets were with "100." And trust me "100" on my current machine is waaayyy more than that. But we will just call it 100. (Still up 10 from last week.)
Tri Stretch

This always irritates me cause I go to different gyms alot... Each gym has their own preferred set of machines with different leverages. I can leg press 800 in one gym but only 500 in another... Whatever, they can't change the leverages on my squat rack :laugh2:

True that! I feel weak when I reference my cable machine weights, but I KNOW they are different than normal. "100" isnt a typical 100lbs.

Bro you are gettin really strong!! 15lbs up on bench?! Also I thought you discontinued the cycle :scratchchin:..and whats with the funky epi dosages?

I thought it was Metroba for a second.

hahaha...I can appreciate the humor

No, I'm still on it. I had thought about cutting it short from 6 weeks down to 5. But I think (as of right now) I'll start PCT on 8-19. That puts me at 5.5 weeks total but only 3.5 weeks on PP. So I may toy with 40mg next week.

Epi dosage was a typo:) But today is my last day on EPI, for a total of 4 weeks.

To be honest, I was dissapointed with my bench yesterday. I wanted to get my normal 8/5/3 reps but I didnt :(

Give yourself some credit bro..damn..15lbs is nutz! I would've done a back flip after my first rp set!

I mean I'm cool with it...but I have gotten 260x4 before so i'm not really stronger than I have ever been on BP. But I'd say I'm right there.

It's crazy too, because I used to always dog on BP. Mainly because my arms are long (basketball player) and BP just never suited me and I was weak as hell on it.

Funny (and pathetic) story. I was in a competition my senior year for the best athlete in Knoxville. And I was winning all the different drills and such (speed and agility, vertical jump, etc) but when we got to bench press, all the guys were doing 135 for reps. And when it was my turn, I couldnt even get it one motha frikin time!!! And after that, my total points dropped bad and I lost:(

haha I couldnt help find this funny...260 is awesome man! Sounds like you are on your way back! Were you on anything when you hit 260?

damn! TO didnt do so well for me. What gains did you make on TO?

Well, I love AN and Dirk is a super nice and smart guy, so I dont want to seem like I'm degrading their product. But, IMHO it (as well as many other PH/DS) acts as a great "muscle pump." What I mean by that is, it enables to muscles to suck in a ton of glycogen and thus providing a good amount of weight gain for most users. And is also why they suggest a high CHO intake while on cycle. I was able to gain 8lbs and get somewhat leaner during the cycle. My strength went up as well.

But as far as a muscle builder, I'm not sold on that. I mean 15lbs in 15 days...that's not muscle...that's glycogen. BUT, I'm not saying that the compounds that I am currently on are any different. That's why I'm more of a slow and steady guy. "Weight Gain" is no longer someting I place all my faith in.

However, I will say, with an uptake in muscle glycogen, strength will increase. And when that takes place, muscle hypertrophy occurs, so this could lead to more of an anabolic effect.

I dont mean to sound like an A hole expert guy who thinks he knows everything. I know very little. But, this is my opinion (since you asked, lol) and it very well could be wrong. I just like learning :)

Having said that, AN is one of (if not #1) top supp companies. I have used almost all their products and love them :) I cant wait for their new products.

Nice post man. I can't say I disagree

I think it's safe to say that my strength is really kicking up. I only increased weight a little today from my previous B1 w/o but its was only because I really needed to take some body movement out of my curls. I still upped the weight on EZ bar curls, but only 5 lbs. And I stayed the same on Hammers but got more reps.

BUT, my smith squat went up 30 lbs!! I know this could be a combo of strength and undershooting my weight last w/o, but either way...it's cool:) 275 x 5.

I'll update me w/o later.

Squats was an exercise that I could always do more than I thought. If I thought I could only add 25lbs, I'd add 35lbs...Then kick it up to 50lbs the next set for the same reps. Something about Squats I could always do that. With Bench I always OVERshot it. I could never do as much as I thought. Haha.

I take your squat approach to bench press. But, since I have never pushed big weight for squats, I dont have a good feel for my capabilities.

Man, this lethargy is really kickin my tail. That, along with the fact that I messed my back up either sleeping or w/o, has made for a crapy day.

My neck is ganked, too. I can't even accelerate in my car without that initial kick back of the head hurting my neck

Whatever illness I have has given me the worst neck tightness and pain I've ever felt. Cant sleep in any position to make it comfortable either. I've read it's a sign of strep which I think I had prior to taking my anti biotics. Now its just healing time.

Tyler, I agree stims on cycle is risky but for what's its worth. I took Meltdown on an Epi cycle and checked bp everyday, hr too. HR and BP were unchanged throughout the entire time! just sayin...maybe im just lucky

Yea, I say a small amount is cool and thats what I have taken. But they havent helped too much at all. So this means in order to get a more noticeable effect, I would need up the dose....and I dont want to do this.

Oh well, I think I'm just a sucker for lethargy. I can stand almost any other side but that. And other than lethargy, I havent had any sides at all really. Besides some minimal back pumps and acne.

I know lethargy is primarily an energy issue, but in thinking outside the box, since caffeine is not a desirable path, maybe some herbal mood boost (adaptogens) may alleviate some of the attitude that comes with lethargy, which in turn may help in the big picture.

#1. Rhodiola rosea may be effective for improving mood and alleviating depression. Pilot studies on human subjects[2][3][4] showed that it improves physical and mental performance, and may reduce fatigue.

Rhodiola rosea's effects potentially are related to optimizing serotonin and dopamine levels due to monoamine oxidase inhibition and its influence on opioid peptides such as beta-endorphins, [5] although these specific neurochemical mechanisms have not been clearly documented with scientific studies.

Rhodiola is included among a class of plant derivatives called adaptogens which differ from chemical stimulants, such as nicotine, and do not have the same physiological effects. (NOW Foods sells a 60 cap of 500mg for like $8.99).

Combined with....

#2. Ashwagandha: Latest researches reveal that Ashwagandha, if given in proper dose, can restore the neurotransmitters and hence can be useful in various mental disorders. Ashwagandha can be used by both men and women and it acts to calm the mind and promote sound, restful sleep. Ashwagandha works as an adaptogen, promoting the body's ability to maintain homeostasis and resist stress. It prevents or minimizes imbalances that may lead to disease, whether from poor diet, lack of sleep, mental or physical strain, or chemical toxins in the environment. It is especially beneficial in stress related disorders such as arthritis, hypertension, diabetes, general debility, etc. It has also shown impressive results when used as a stimulant for the immune system. Ashwagandha is a unique herb with anti-stress adaptogenic action that leads to better physical fitness and helps to cope with life's daily stress. (NOW Foods, 60-90 caps, 450mg, $8-$9.00)

If you really want to get buck wild, you can go as far as adding...

Phosphatidyl serine
: Phosphatidyl serine has been demonstrated to speed up recovery, prevent muscle soreness, improve well-being, and might possess ergogenic properties in athletes involved in cycling, weight training and endurance running. Soy-PS, in a dose dependent manner (400 mg), has been reported to be an effective supplement for combating exercise-induced stress by blunting the exercise-induced increase in cortisol levels.[3] PS supplementation promotes a desirable hormonal balance for athletes and might attenuate the physiological deterioration that accompanies overtraining and/or overstretching.[4] In recent studies, PS has been shown to enhance mood in a cohort of young people during mental stress and to improve accuracy during tee-off by increasing the stress resistance of golfers.[

It's basically an anti-cort, homeostasis, stress adaptive, mood improving and mental acuity stack. You could even add Relora to the mix, but Relora is like $20 a bottle, which I consider too expensive if you're looking for "patching up" issues.

^^Thanks a bunch man. I like how PS improved some golfers tee shots! ha. I will add those to my cart at NP. But I may try to stick it out for the rest of the cycle. More than likely, it will be over next Wed, so surely I can make it until then.

Day 30

Weight: 183 +9

P-Plex: 20mg/10mg

DC Workout B1

Workout was OK today. Didnt have much energy until I got to squats, but they went well. Looked pumped in the mirrors fo sho. Although, I dont care too much about that anyways, it's just cool :) I think I'm still getting used to the AM thing. I may be getting a partner next week. He plans on working out with me from now on but I'm not sure how long it will last. He used to be nasty strong but hasnt lifted much in the past few years. Either way, it will be nice to get a good spot on some things.

Went up on reps or weight for all exercises and on smith squats, I went up 30 lbs.

EZ Bar Curls: 95 8/5/3
Stretch

Incline DB Hammers: 40x12
Stretch

Calf Raise: Lots of weight x 12

Leg Ext:

Smith Squats: 275x5
Stretch

Sides/Thoughts:

-Like I said yesterday, the lethargy is killing me. I'll see how these next few days go but I'm not scared to call it quits early if I need to considering I have been on cycle for almost 4.5 weeks.

-Getting more True Protein in today :)

-Body comp is still looking OK. Def getting larger but it could just be glycogen/water.

-DOMS is almost non existant now. I suppose this is a good thing (quick recovery due to cycle) but I dont think I like it since I dont feel like I have been "worked" as much. Oh well.

-Call me crazy, but I want to start doing some yoga on the weekends. I really feel that it's important to keep felixiblity up to par, and mine is no where near it.

-I need to go shopping this weekend. College football season is coming up and I need some new Gator gear :)

-I still want a Newcastle

So I know I sound like a whiny little beeyotch but this lethargy is kicking me butt. I went home for lunch and I fell asleep on my couch. Sad thing is I got like 9 hours of sleep last night too.

I just sent off my Testosterone test yesterday so I should have the results e mailed to me in about 5 days so I'd like to make it until then before I start PCT. Plus, the weekend is coming up and it would be easier to deal with then.

?????

Nah, the lethargy sucks man. I know how you feel. It shouldn't be much longer, though. Now that you're off the Epi, the PP should really take effect and your lethargy levels should diminish. I always felt great on PP. Tons of energy. It was the closest thing to Test I've ever taken.

Oh, if you could feel what 200mg of Test Prop/day felt like! :18:

Damn you for teasing me like that!!!! Did you run any Arimidex on your test cycle? I bet you did but I dont remember you saying anything about it.

I'm still slowly but surely working on convincing my gf. It's just not one of those things you can keep bringing up all the time.

No, I used letro or tamox. Tamox has always treated me well on cycle, but if I ever did that stuff again I'd probably use anastrazole.

If I DID do it, it would be a mild but long cycle. Like a 24-30 wk Test E cycle @ 500mg/wk.

Yummy!!! Seth Roberts also recomends Tamox on cycle, but I dont know if I would run that or Adex. I'd like to keep the water down to have a better idea of the real gains.

Water isn't so bad and you can gain so much more size and strength if you have a little extra fluid. Worry about the water after wards imo

True. plus you keep the libido going w/o Adex. It really just comes down to personal preference, I think.

Thoughts on Epi Cycle

Well, my 4 week epi run is over so I figured I'd give a quick summary of my thoughts. I know everyone already knows about Epi and it's results but I figured, what the hell, and will give my .02.

Strength: Def saw some increase here. But since I started DC at the same time, it's hard to attribute what to what.

Hardness: Noticed this from day one. Big increase here.

Weight: I was up 8 lbs when I stopped the Epi, but I was also on PP for a part of that. So again, hard to distinguish the difference. Plus, I was coming of a low carb diet, so the weight is mainly glycogen replinishing.

Sides: Huge amount of lethargy lately but it could be from the EPi/PP combo. Other than that, some slight acne and small back pumps, nothing much at all.

All in all, I have to say I'm rather neutral on my Epi opinion. I mean, I cant say I'm dissapointed since I havent had many sides at all, but I didnt have an "on" feeling that some describe. My strength/weight did increase but like I said, it's hard to attribute what to what. And I undertand this is my fault, but to be honest, I dont really care.

Let me put it this way, I didnt experience any gains that made me think to myself "man, there's no way I could have done that naturally." I mean, my diet and training were on point, so I would have seen results regardless. But would I have seen the same scale of results? I dont know for sure. My guess would be that my strength would have not gone up quite as far w/o Epi.

thanks man, i always find the end of cycle summaries interesting to read. looking forward to the results from your blood tests too.

Up to 186 lbs today. +11 since starting the cycle. I have a good feeling I'm starting to hold some water from the PP, but oh well. No biggie.

Day 32

P-Plex: 20mg/10mg

Weight 186 (+11)

DC Workout A2

Good w/o today for sure. Weight wasnt increased by a whole lot, but it increased nonetheless. My energy was 100% for the first time in a while. I had been having trouble with this since switching to an AM w/o, but today was good. Nice Tri Pump going, felt nice while in the gym. I def feel "larger." now, weather or not I am, not too sure.

Incline Smith: 195 8/3/3
Stretch w/ 35's for 60 sec. I know I need to get this to 90 sec.

Smith Shoulder Press Front: 145 8/5/2
Stretch

Skull Crushers: 85 10/5/5/
Stretch

Rack Chins Front: bw + 45 8/4/2

DB Rows: 45 14/5/5
Stretch

Sides/Thoughts:

-Just as I thought the lethargy was going to get the best of me, it's doing worlds better today.

-Holding some water in my midsection. I dont like that at all, but I'm sure it will go away fast. Coming off of a cut, it's depressing for my stomach to start losing ground, but it should go away after cycle.

-Feeling much better today and I'm looking forward to one more good week.

-As of now, I will be starting PCT on Thursday of next week. This will have put me at almost 5.5 weeks total. I'd like to hit deads one more time while on cycle and I will do this in Wed.

-Still want a Newcastle....bad

Ah, Deads! I have to remember to do those today. I think I'll do Full Body with a concentration on Lower Back and Legs. :) - It's nice doing whatever the heck you feel like doing. Haha

That's what I used to do and loved it. But I just couldnt seem to get a good disciplined routine going. I get off track easy.

I've actually been doing pretty well with it. I hit what needs to be hit, and go light on body parts that feel fatigued.

I'm running super late. I have to hit it. I'm normally into my first few sets by now! Eek.

Nice weights man! You really made the best out of this cycle! Props!

Volcom and Tyler, I had to put this in your log after seeing it on another website. It was a user comment in response to an article about BJ Penn wanting the Diego fight soon:

""Diego Sanchez? No, I said I'm ready for 'Chorizo Sandwich,' to hell with getting back in the gym..."

LOL!

Ha ha. I did see that article. He sounds like he wants to get back into the gym ASAP, becasue he doesnt want to get out of shape and then have to get back into shape.

Guys, I had a couple thoughts run through my head today.

I will start PCT on Wed probably. But I was wondering if it would be worth it to preload the PRIME any? I dont anticpiate my strength dropping off any when I stop the cycle, but I dont know. I thought about starting it tomorrow????Could be a dumb idea..

Also, IC, you ever ran PP at 40mg?? I thought about bumping it up for the next 3 days but I doubt I will. I havent noticed any one who saw a big increase in benefits and I dont think I can handle any more lethargy. But, it has gotten better since I dropped Epi so PP alone doesnt seem to bother me.

On another note, once I dropped the Epi, I started to bloat up like crazy! I knew it was possible but I dont see it being a big problem since I will be finished this week.

I have also put on some size in my arms. The last measurment I have is from March, but they are 1/4 inch bigger now. I can def tell a difference in the mirror in my arms and other places as well. I even got a compliment from someone saying "I have put on some size."
