uh wtf??

Okay in January I was driving my camero on a ramp to merge onto a highway. My left right tire blew out and I spun out into the guardrail then back onto the road. The police showed up and I told them what happened, they made sure my friend and I were okay and then let us go.(had to be picked up,camero was totaled)

Well today I receive a letter from the state of tennessee saying I owe them 500 dollars for them replacing 25feet of guard rail and labor. The guardrail was BARELY damaged, it had a dent in it, but wasnt bent over or anything. And it damn sure wasn't ****ing 25feet damaged. The cop also wrote in the report that I spun out do to excessive speed. The mother****er wasnt even there, they showed up 10min after the wreck happened. And how can you spin out at 50miles an hour unless one of your tires blow out?

Has anyone ever heard of the state charging you for things like this? WTF, no way I can pay this.

I'm pretty sure I was Hitler in my previous life. I have had bad luck ALL my life.. Like seriously.. And every now and then I get real lucky.. Hoping the next time I get lucky is me winning the lotto. But if ANYTHING can go wrong with me...it usually does.

I was knocked out from my airbag not deploying.. I woke up with my front end blocking me seeing out of my windshield. Like the tard I am i tried starting the car a couple times, and I was about to get out when the cop pulled up.. No idea how long I was knocked out.

lawls camaro camero, same ****.. I have liability insurance and this happened almost a YEAR ago.. Dont think I should even waste my time seeing if they will.
 
Damaging of state (im saying state, as I do not know which road/highway/interstate) owned property. Yes, it is legal for them to send you a bill. And, they have to replace the whole section. They aren't going to cut and wield it back in....

It was a dent, the rail wasnt bent towards the ground at all. They could have hammered it out in 10min if they wanted to.. It really didnt need to be fixed at all, it still would stop a car just as good with what I did to it as it would new..

Never mind the fact there are guardrails that are FUBARD and have been for years... Doesnt make sense.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine, except it was about 10 months later and was the same amount. Weird.I dont think he ever paid, but he was like 45(he worked at my old warehouse) and still lived with mom and pop and didnt drive anymore...Wowzas o.0

Sadly, this is the norm. They have to replace sections of 25' regardless how much is really needed. The DOT protocols require such replacement so that there isn't a weak spot with the guard rail. The engineering side of it makes sense: If a section no larger than 10' is damaged, 25' section must be replaced to ensure proper tension, or pliability. If the section is larger than 10', then a 25' section must be replaced along with 2 additional post per square yard to ensure said balance.

In a nut-shell: Sh*t sucks.

93 hunter green v6. Loved it.. Funny part is I was drinking, and they never said **** about it.. They just made sure I was okay and asked if i need an ambulance and I said no my wife is coming.. Listen to this **** though it just gets better.. The cops called some towing place to get my truck. They call my cell phone and tell me Its going to be 400 dollars for them towing it about 1.5 miles.AND I couldnt get my stuff out of the car or tag before i paid that. I was like you have to be ****ing joking SERIOUSLY.. The car was totalled so why would I pay for it to have it back? So I called another towing placed and ask them is this ****ing real? And they said he was full of **** and the owner told me to drive down there to his place and he would take care of it.. So I go pick him up and I swear to god he looked like chuck liddell. We drive to the place which is a ****ing TRAILER that looks like its been there a hundred years and this old man comes out.. And dude is like i heard you werent gonna let this guy get his **** before he pays anything and your a dumbass and hes gettin his stuff now.. And the guy was like no no I didnt say that so I go and get my stuff.. As we are leavin old man asked me when Im payin that bill and im like next week.. As we are drivin back to drop the chuck liddell lookin dude off he tells me dont pay **** to them, they have to have a certain amount of time to notfiy you by MAIL, and in if they dont send it within a week you wont have to pay ****. Sure enough they didnt send it and i never paid for it.. They auctioned off the camaro and made nice money from it.. Everyone is a ****ing crook now a days its pathetic.

Your insurance should foot the bill. Actually, your shouldn't have been fined for this! That's insane! Take it to court, you'll win.
