It's that time again... To get another bike

Currently looking at three bikes, all 2009

CBR 100RR
Gsxr 1000
Hayabusa

Not quite sure which route I want to take this time around.

ohh Jay how I envy you so much right now.. Suzuki GSXR 1000 FTW!!

out of those three, probably the cbr. better handling although im assuming you dont really care about that if you are looking at a busa.

Those 1000 bikes are really sweet but the majority of my riding will be off the track so having something I can hit in the twisties and take to the beach without crippling myself is a serious consideration.

GSXR will be fine for that.... I've rode Honda's, Kawasaki's, Yamaha's and out of all of them the GSXR was by far my favorite.. light frame, easy handling, great power

I'm digging the style of the cbr. The mufflers of the Gixx thou turns me off a bit. Making the trip to go test ride and sit on each of them to see which feel better. I'm told there's an aftermarket seat for the busa that allows you to sit more into the bike.

I always swap out the exhaust first thing and get some nice aftermarket ones.

how old are u jay and where do you live? my friends are 25 and live in NY with a clean record and full coverage is 1600 a year for them. I have a harley sportster 1200xl custom and full coverage for me is only 382 a year but its not a crotch rocket so thats why its so cheap. I guess if your like 35-40 it could be really cheap thats why i ask your age.

Go for the CBR! I have a cbr600rr and absolutely love it. When I first bought mine I tested them all out and the honda just felt the best. In my opinion they are all beautiful bikes, It's all about how comfortable you feel when sitting on it.

I agree on that!

I'm 34 on the 27th with a very clean driving record and over 15 years with a motorcycle license. My boulevard is 1500cc with the 25 dollar premium which will drop a couple of dollars in a couple days once I fax in my motorcycle safety course certificate. I'm in maryland.

ahhh gotcha no wonder why its so cheap....lucky you. NY likes to rape us!!!!. I agree with low boy i would go with the CBR.

Unless something sways my mind between now and the time of purchase I believe i'm going with the busa... The seating for me is much easier for longer rides. The CBR would be the next choice.

I paid 400 a year on my R6 when i was like 20, in NY.

I would go for an R1, or Gixxer.

Busa's suck(unless you are drag racing)

Lucky you, you can have a bike.. At my age, these bikes are 10 000 a year to insure...

I have a Suzuki SV650S. I'm 20, it's my first bike, and it's not too hard on the wallet. It's a V-Twin sportbike, but insurance companies don't consider it a crotch rocket so they're cheap to insure. Great first bike though, I'd be scared to own a Hayabusa at my age.

This generation busa isn't the same pork as the last one. it really is a lot lighter than you may think.

They are still 130lbs heavier then the gsxr1k, and 6" longer. If you want to drag race the thing, then go for it, but the 1k is going to be gobs more fun EVERYWHERE.

The all black one is sexy as hell

Went and sat on the honda 1000. I'm sold! It basically came down to the look over anything else. Up close I didn't really care for the 1piece fairing of the busa.

You should enjoy it, definitely a better choice then the busa. What color are you going with?

Let us know when you get it!

Well, I want the all black one but the place i'm buying it from only has the Repsol edition. Talked with the guy who sold me my last bike and he's willing to let it go for 11,900. If it's still on the floor in 6-8 weeks when i'll be purchasing. He's also going to give me 5k for my C90(upper end trade in value). Throw in the 2k I have for a DP and i'm only going to have to finance 5k. looking like a real good deal at this point.
