4 Week H-Drol Log

Day 10, 50mg-ABs/Cardio

Did about 18 sets of situps, ball situps, machines, leg raises etc. Stomach feels nice and tight...almost painful lol.
Ran 35 min on the eliptical...was pouring sweat, like more than usual. Felt good though
Overall greatworkout.
 
alot of cardio for being on cycle, more than I've heard of but I may do it too on my cycle coming up

Dude, 18 sets of anything is too much. Hell, there are days I don't do 18 sets total of all my exercises put together. No wonder your stomach is painful. You are going a bit overboard. 90 reps in the squat rack one day, then 18 SETS of abs. I don't think this is going to give you good gains. On cycle you need to train the same as off cycle, but with more weight and intensity.

Unless you are involved in some kind of endurance sport this kind of overtraining is counterproductive. Especially since you were planning on lifting six days a week.

35 min is not too bad IMO. Best if he's doing intervals though.

I admit, I've become slightly over zealous about gains...which will probably negate what Im striving for. I'll tone it down, I just want to get in shape for the beach ! :D
35 min may seem like alot but I only do that once a week, and really want to lose some BF, which i know is diet, but once a week cardio helps, esp in conjunction with my clean eating.
 
o once a week is fine, I thought it was EOD or something, Ill prob do moderate intensity or walking for 20-30 min

Started of with squats and set a new PR of 335 :D - Cut down the reps/sets and focused on perfect form and max weight. I was extremely tired and unmotivated as soon as I got to the gym but it didnt seem to affect me workout too much. Hit the leg press for some widow makers (2 sets of 8x8x8 with feet positioned like so: ||, \/, \ / ...after those I got the most intense burn of my life. It was f*n awesome.. finished of with light leg extensions/cavs.
Tris- nothing crazy b/c chest was still sore. Pulldowns, close grip negs, light dips, extensions etc. Got an awesome, "skin popping" pump from the light tri workout.

Problem: I hadn't thought about this b4 but my cousin is getting married on Sat, and it will be extremely hard for me not to have a drink b.c of the environment/occassion. I know its very stupid to drink on cycle, but I feel like I will ..b/c uh its a wedding lol. Should I still take my dosing that day? Or just O.D. load up on MT, take throughout the day with alot of water... ??

First of all, much better approach to lifting. What you did in your last workout will give you much better gains than what you were doing before with all those crazy reps.

My advice about the drinking is don't do it. Everyone reacts differently to drinking on cycle and having just two drinks may give you a horrible hangover the next day. Have a Coke instead (you're not supposed to have caffeine either though) and nobody will know if there's alcohol in there or not. If they have non-alcoholic beer drink it in a regular glass and nobody will know the difference. Tough it out if you can, it will make you work that much harder when you're lifting.

If that just ain't gonna work for you then don't skip the h-drol but do take extra MT. I don't know how much is too much, you'll have to research that but take as much as is considered safe. Drink lots of water. Pray you aren't hating life the next day.

On cycle I went to a music festival where 20 friends and EVERYONE around me was drinking like fish (and where I customarily do as well). I wouldn't drink caffeine either during my cycle so for the entire weekend at this festival I drank nothing but water. It sucked but it made me stronger. If you need an excuse tell people you're taking Lamisil for toenail fungus and most people know you should never drink with Lamisil. Or just say you're taking medication that you can't mix with alcohol and most people won't be nosy enough to ask for further details.

If you use the Lamisil excuse know that typical treatment is 90 days, just in case someone asks you about how your treatment is going. But if you man up and avoid the drinks the next day you'll feel awesome about the self control you had.
 
why are you even questioning drinking? that's a bull$hit excuse, Im sorry, but seriously...drink water, if it matters to you and your serious, you can do it
 
drinking is stupid on cycle.... I honestly drank every single weekend for at least one night for 10 years of my life and once I went on cycle I went 4 weeks clean. Slipped up one time, took extra cycle support, drank water throughout the night to make sure I was hydrated.... and like a gallon when i got home!!!!

Also promotes estrogen, less test, nothing good can come from drinking on cycle bro
 
I expected these responses b.c they're right. On that note I'll suck it up and drink a diet coke :D Thanks 4 the concern guys. And TomCat it wasnt an excuse, it was just the situation... no alcohol 4 me though.
 
Day 12-Bi's, 50mg

Did the usual. curls, preacher, close grips, isolations, reverse curls etc. Noticable strenght increase on the reverse curls. Got a sick nast pump that lasted awhile.
-Overall sense of "wellbeing"
-Libido kinda lacking

...feel like a cold is coming on >:0 gonna take mad Vit C/water to combat it, and take tomorrow off.
 
Ahhh, ok , so I'm def getting sick. I took around 8g of vit c throughout the day, and drank a ton of water...may skip the gym tomorrow depending on how I feel. Any suggestions ?

That follows my same plan, superdose vitamin c, loadup on water, and then allow myself to rest fully. When i get sick i still train about 90% of the time, if it's a cold I can still lift, put tissues in my pocket if i need them... so i think you should train if you feel capable of it.

If someone blowing their nose a few times during their workout and disposing the tissue in the trash makes you get sick, your immune system is pretty weak. And if having to blow your nose during a workout prevents you from getting to the gym, that's a pretty weak lifting strategy. So I lift when i'm sick and I can still lift just fine, my strength is rarely ever diminished. I remember the first time i hit 3 plates on bench i was pretty sick. I keep lifting and recover just fine, and then keep lifting. Gotta do what it takes to get to the top. I understand your view about getting other people sick, but it just doesn't happen, I should know when I go to the gym 5x a week for years without taking a week off...

anyway, OP, good luck with the recovery.
 
then you are a unreal machine, Unreal Machine LOL. Last week I got a nose bleed after doing deadlifts... :dunno:

Thanks for the encouragement. Thas pretty impressive that being sick doesnt inhibit your workout. Im already starting to feel a little better thanks to the C. Hopefully some shoulders tomorrow :D

As far as the dosing...should I take 50mg in the morning, and 25 at night? or does it not matter. ? tnx
 
what time do you workout? I would try to keep the dosing centered around the workout and the morning, and not dose at night. The reason for this is that your test production is highest overnight, so it makes no sense to suppress that daily natural rebound by dosing at night. If you instead dose more towards the morning and midday (i like to try to center it around the workout, presuming the workout isn't at night), then you can allow for some recovery overnight. Overall this should have the effect of decreasing shutdown just slightly over the course of the cycle. It follows the principles of a pulse just on a smaller scale.
 
hmm.. usually I hit the gym around 2pm. When I was taking 50mg, I was taking 25 around 11am, 3pm support supps, 7pm 25mg, 11pm supps. I didnt take it right b4/after the workout b.c I was trying to spread the doses 8hrs apart and didnt know that you should take it right around the workout.

I usually wake up around 11ish. Should I wait to take 50 right b4 the workout at like 130?

If you think that people get sick because they come in contact with the germs of other people you coudln't be more wrong bro.... people don't get sick from germs, if we did we would be sick every single day of our lives. we get sick when our immune systems don't work properly to fight of those germs. So, if you are healthy you shouldn't ever have to worry about getting sick, yeah you can take extra precautions by washing your hands.. but as long as you eat right, get plenty of sleep, vitamins, and water you will be fine regardless of the germs you come in contact with.... im so confident in my immune system right now i'd let someone with swine flu spit in a cup and i'd drink that ****. Cause im healthy and I know it :)

I dont think it really matters...its half-life is 7 or 8 hours, I think...

Hmm if i were taking 2 pills i'd do 11am and then around 3:30pm right after your workout. You could take them both preworkout, but you won't notice it as much because the half life is a bit longer.

for 3 pills for your time frame i'd do 11am, 1pm, 4pm something like that.

Just my dosing strategy anyway. Some people take everything preworkout, i don't know how everyone does their spacing, but i really feel that this way will minimize shutdown, not saying it'll make a huge difference, but it makes more sense to me because it's more like a pulse... I know when i did that, the off days really did give me time for my balls to bounce back, even in week 8 of my epi pulse the size was there... you can really see the fluctuation when it's a pulse. Some would argue against the hormone fluctuations, but in my experience there hasn't been any negative sides.

We're going to have to agree to disagree.

We catch cold by coming into contact with a strain of cold virus for which our body has not developed the antibody. We don't get sick from "germs," that's a generic term rather than a medical term.

So no matter how strong your immune system is, if you get the swine flu virus up your nose (and past physical defenses like nose hairs, mucous and such) you WILL get swine flu. Now, how fast you recover (or if you recover) is totally dependent on how strong your immune system is. That's because unless your body has developed the antibody to a particular strain of cold virus you are essentially defenseless against it. But once you are infected then assuming a healthy immune system, you will be immune to that same strain of virus in the future. But the first time around your immune system can't defend you.

Also, unless you are often sick there's really no objective way to self-evaluate the strength of your immune system. Most people who aren't sick will likely report that their immune system is strong because there's just no way to know, it's completely psychosomatic.

Bottom line, IMO it is irresponsible to go to the gym or anywhere you'll be in close contact with other people if you are sick. And if you don't protect yourself by washing your hands and such you are more likely to get sick.

In theory, yes, i could make everyone sick.

In atuality, nobody else gets sick. This is based on the all of what... 3-5 times i've been significantly sick at the gym... Even my closest friends in constant contact don't get sick. It's not a sure thing.

Therefore i'm not going to waste my life at home because i'm afraid of the slim possibility that other people could get sick... from a cold that's spreading around anyway. No, i'm going to hit the gym anyway... Life's too short to stay at home being afraid of unlikely scenarios... I get one shot at life and i'm lovin it... No fear.

Day 15 (Week 3) Mon: Back, 75mg

Took my dosing at 11, 1 and hit the gym at around 2. I could DEF fell the difference in the 50mg pre workout. Felt a surge of strength on all my back workouts, rows, lat pulldowns, cable crossovers, and set a new PR on deads (315x4). Veins are starting to pop in places I've never seen before. :D Overall, a sickk workout. -Muscles are starting to feel harder , and my body is leaning up nicely.
Weight: 181.5

As of right now im following the 40% carbs, 40% protein, 20 % good fats. My friend who's a nutritionist set up a working plan that looks something like this:


Meal 1 (8AM)

1 cup of dry oats mixed with water
3 eggs (2 whites)

Meal 2 (10 AM)
Meal replacement shake (six star products - which has a 40/40/20 nutrient ratio) mixed with water or a protein powder (52 grams of protein) mixed with 40 grams of carbs from cream of rice, grits, or oatmeal.
1 Tablespoon of Flaxseed Oil

Meal 3 (12 Noon)
1 cup of brown rice, or medium sized baked potato, or 1 cup of oatmeal
2 cups of green beans, broccoli or any other desired vegetable
6-8 ounces of chicken, turkey, or lean fish

PreWorkout
Peanut Butter

-GYM-

Post workout Shake


Meal 5 (6 PM)

Holy Sh!T, strength is wayy up. Last week my dumbell military press maxed at 70x6, yesterday I hit 80'sx8 and felt I could have gone higher. Strength was limitless, and got a sick pump.... enough to start the questioning hehe.. It was very hard not to overdo the training b/c my energy/focus/intensity just felt HIGH.


side note: I found a bottle of dhea in my room that I forgot I had... I've read mixed reviews on incorporating this in with a cycle, or saving it for PCT. Any thoughts? Dosing? Thanks guys
 
I would throw it in there with your cycle. Of course I have never tried it myself, but DHEA didn't do **** for me when I took it alone - not sure about you.

Another thing to conisder I guess is, do you even really need anymore. It sounds like things are going great for you so far. Maybe it would be best just to save it for PCT.

Good job man - you think it has 'kicked' in yet??? Hahaha, things will only get better for you so keep pushing yourself to the limit, keep your protein uptake high, and make sure you are replenishing your muscles with good slow buring carbs my man. Have you been getting a lot of sleep???? Around my 4th week or so if I wasn't getting like 7-8 hours of sleep every night I was run down the next day.... make sure you are sleeping for your 8 hours at least every night i would say. Remember that is when you repair your body and GROW, GROW YOU WILL MY FRIEND!

Great words of advice bro... I'll keep it at the front of my mind when lifting.

On that note, I killedchest today.

Did flat bench 110x8, inclince/declines, flys etc. Strength is wayy up from 2 weeks ago, more vascular, up about 2.5 lbs.

Anyways, im in my 4th week and have been feeling VERY lethargic...like to the point of not wanting to do anything. I started taking DHEA in an attempt to combat this, but have yet to notice a difference (Im taking 50mg a day of the dhea).

Day 23, Tue. Shoulders, 75mg

Had a quick workout, which gave me a nice pump, and im def starting to look alot more cut up. Strength is starting to level off. Weight is up about 4 lbs. But again, the lethargy really killed my motivation at the gym today. Any advice?
 
the only advice I can give you is to give it time, DHEA isnt a miracle worker...how much are you eating and hows your sleep?

Hit up some Ephedrine/caffiene before workouts that will really help.... Not so sure about mixing it with the hdrol though, but I have started that, I am into my 2nd week of PCT now and I lost all motivation to do anything. So this has givin me a nice boost. Enjoy your cycle while it lasts, fight through the lethargy, you will be ok!

EDIT: Also I want to add - make sure you are getting enough sleep 7-10 hours would be right where you need to be. Anything less, would be uncivilized ;)
