with face pulls, i sit down on the floor, and brace my feet against the machine. from there, its a bicep curl that turns into a reverse fly - moving the elbows till they're in line with your head.

Hmmm never thought about sitting down? Good Idea! Ya i felt i was leaned back pretty far, when i got it pulled in i would hold for a sec and release slow! But thats when i kept wanting to tip forward lol

Will Do! Some ppl like one of the big 3, but i like all 3 more then any other workout. I think its cause i know that those are the main stays of building mass and getting stronger, so thats what i enjoy them lol

Your right. I was just suprised when i stepped on the scale? I was like wow i actually lost weight yet am still gaining strength. Im not complaining in that regard by anymeans tho!

Nice w/o Teg. The grip strength will come with time. Do you use an overhand or underhand grip for the BB rows. I go underhand just because it seems to force me into using more lats than upper back. Just drop your rear and arch the back...pull to your upper belly. Sunny has the right idea on the face pulls too. Do them sitting and pull with your elbows. Keep the momentum going here Teg!!
Yes, i just like everyone else hate havin a weaker part that relies on another part to work. Like my Pull Ups! Owell, as you said, in time..... I was using overhand. Ill swap next time and try it that way. Overhand has always felt awkward even at light weight. Ok for sure, ill try the sitting face pulls see if i can get them down!! Thanks AZ! Face pulls - just get into a nice deep stance and lower the pulley a bit...
Ya i thought about getting a set. Of course use them only for heavy sets and work on forearm strength in the mean time.

Teg - invest in some wraps if you want to increase your deadlift numbers. It isn't going to help your grip, but it's not really a grip exercise. I do them w/out wraps because I am nuts like that, but in reality my last sets should have wraps. I suggest you do just that, and use wraps, but just for the stuff that you need them for.

True and i have heard that before! Guess ill pick up a set, cause i do want my DL numbers to go up. You just sealed the deal! I know if i have a strong back, itll help with other lifts as well, not to mention weight gain! I do look like a twig still so i wanna get my baby wings to grow as well!

Ok Sooo im happy with todays over all workout. But, i just didnt feel good again and i think i know why. I forgot to take my Iron Pill early in teh morn, and then i had some gatorade and it didnt agree with me! ARG! Sooo i FEEL like ish, but my lifts still went well and so, im happy about that!

***Heres why im a total N00B and feel DUMB! So i had me a spotter on my 165 BB Bench which was one of the Trainers there(who is very strong and smart) Anywhozzle, ive known him for like 4yrs now and hes seen me in my ups and downs and said wow man your coming back really quick and i told him ya i hit my maxs already on RDLs and he goes nice, and for some reason he goes, "you do know all these new bars are the 45s right?" i go, "So which ones are the 35s and which are the 45s they all look the same cept the silver one" He goes, "we got rid of the old ones that were bent and so there are 4 45s and 2 35s." I got wow, i feel really dumb right now" He asks why? I say "Cause i calculated my lifts wrong then for my DLs. That would mean i blew my old RDL numbers outta the water" He asks what they were i told him and so NOW, REAL numbers are 225 for my RGLs!

You should feel safe assuming that any Olympic bar is 45 pounds. The 35's were probably bending because they were either hollow - or a cheaper alloy.

True. They look almost exactly like the old ones, cept the lil end pieces(were the plates hit against) are bigger, NOW that i looked at them. I dont think there hollow, prob. cheaper alloy tho :dunno: There are quite a few guys there who reg. used them and put 400+ on them for DLs, Squats ETC. and some just "let it fall" on the safty rack or floor and i know over time that it does wear on them if they are treated like that.

Guess the main thing is, Now i know atleast!

Since they have built this newer and BIGGER gym, they have upgraded ALOT of stuff tho! Everything from the treadmills, bikes, to the plates, mats, DBs, and benches! Guess BBs werent at the top of the list???? Ya i hope they get some of the 55s in. I would just like to try them! Thanks Bradda! Today "seemed" hard, yet was still soild!

BTW im feelin a lil better now! :)

this reminds me of a story of a powerlifter that was never able to break 500 pound bench. the trainer (this was in the 60's, before powerlifting suits), told the guy "okay, this is 496, just like you did last time. after the powerlifter got a clean rep, the coach said "count the weight, you just did 501".

moral of the story - your mind will give out before your muscles will.

anyways, nice progress man.

Soooo ya went to the opthamoligist(sp?) this morn for my eye appt and did lots of testing and what not. Well between all the dyes and testing, my eyes started wiggin out the time i left, walked outside and was blinded! I got to my car put on my sunglass's and by that time i had a pounding migrain!!! ERRRR Drove home which i prob should have being that i could barley see, but went in my room shut the blinds and ya...... Waited and Debated about goin to the gym, well at about 230 the migrain started to die down and i said well im goin to the gym regardless if i feel like crap or not! Still had/have a slight bit of a headache still and eyes are a bit sensitive buuut im much better!

Ok now............... Im laying out my new log and getting everything ready! Ill post it up in a few mins and itll be ready! Ill start my candy on either Sun or Mon ;)

I was getting "made fun of" last nite by my friend(went to her graduation). Shes goes your so small, i have bigger "guns" then you. I said well put em up and lets see! So, she did, I loled and said nice, but i still have you beat and flexed. Shes was all WOW, it doesnt look like you have muscles but when you flex it shows! I said ya, i have those long lean muscle bellys so they dont show!

True... Im trying to get as much in me as possible... I think ill start throwin down some black hole to help! I pretty much dont stop eatting. Seems like i get maybe 2hrs or so were i dont eat during the day... Im always downing oats, trail mix, granola, pb, and cheese during the day.... chicken is usually in afternoon and eve.... We have some duck and goose in the freezer actually.... Hmmm
