My first PH/log... ***THE ONE***

Wow, Noah. A definite difference in your upper body for sure: chest is wider and thicker; traps are a lot bigger and thicker; delts have gained size; back is thicker as well. Not a lot of change in legs. But yeah, looking from 'before' to 'after' upper body, you went from almost looking scrawny to looking think and full :thumbsup:

Thanks ;) Yeah, I'm just gonna have to keep experimenting with legs to find out what will make them grow, although if I haven't figured it out yet, I don't know if I will hahah.. My leg strength definitely goes up, but they never really get 'bigger.' This last week I just started squatting a lower weight (5-10lbs lighter), but I am repping out more (12-14reps ATG), so we'll see how my legs respond. Any input from veterans would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Wow great job definitely bigger in the upper body all around.

As far as legs go i find mine respond better to higher reps 10-15 obviously as heavy as possible, also maybe throw in some single leg variants if your not already lunges bulgarian split squats etc.

Just wondering, I don't need to add an estro blocker into my PCT, do I? I've never had gyno before, and would like to stay clear of it. My PCT stack is already pretty big as it is though...

Now:
2nd Gear
IGF-2
Drive
Cycle Assist

Starting in about 2 weeks:
Sustain Alpha
TOCO-8

'The One' review..

So here it goes, time for my final review.. Just so everyone knows, I had my blood work done a few hours ago, so I should have the results within the next 3 days; I will post the results immediately. Also, I will have follow up blood work done a month after completing PCT. Today was my first day on PCT, I will keep the log updated with results (gains, sides, losses, weight, etc).. Now, onto the review..
P.S. Thanks Jawhawkk for the review layout ;)

‘The One’ Review
by CrownRoyal

Starting dry weight: 170lbs
Ending dry weight: 181lbs (FINALLY broke an almost yr long plateau)

Muscle Hardness
Honestly, being my first (and probably only PH), I have nothing else to compare this to but.. my muscles have NEVER felt harder. It was truly ridiculous how hard my muscles felt to the touch, it was absolutely incredible. I really hope my muscles continue to stay this hard, I have faith in myself, I will keep up my training/diet/pct to the T.

Muscle Gain
As you can see in the pictures, I definitely gained muscle mass. Unfortunately I took those pictures a short time after eating, but I can assure you that I had more abs AFTER running the one, than I did before starting the one. Also, I don’t do any ab work, haha, I let compound lifts work them, I just don’t care about ‘em that much. In other words, I believe the one cut down my body fat, and promoted lean muscle mass development. As of today, I’ve gained 11lbs of dry muscle mass from the one which I am definitely thrilled about; my lean mass gains have been noticed by my family and friends.

Pumps
The pumps while on the one were SUPERB. I really had some skin breaking pumps going on; I never left the gym without a pump in whatever muscle(s) I was working. The only downside to the pump was a few times when I got it REAL hard in the lower back… already having a history of minor lower back issues, I believe it was easily irritated by the pump the one provided. Fortunately, it got a bit better as time went on, I just had to warm up a little longer, stretch a bit more and take a bit longer of a rest period in between sets. But, overall, the pump on the one was awesome no doubt.

Strength
Not lifting very hard/consistently for a few months before starting the one, I was really surprised how fast my strength shot up. A few of my lifts weren’t as heavy as they were last ‘season,’ but many of them surpassed previous numbers, and I felt SOLID on every rep. That’s one of the thing I really enjoyed about the one.. even on days where I felt like I was ‘tired,’ and really had no desire to lift, I was blown away by how easy it was to rep out the weight that I was focused SO hard on pushing the week before. I made some good strong gains while on the one. Since I was doing more of a volume training routine, I could only imagine how much stronger someone could get using the one while strength training. Awesome!

Endurance
Since I don’t partake in cardio anymore (just 3 years ago I was running 90 miles a week, weighing only 120-125lbs; my metabolism is still a racecar), I really couldn’t test the one in terms of cardio from running, swimming, biking, etc. But I can tell you this much, I have been off of pre-workout stimulates for over a year now, and working out on the one kept me in the zone, in the gym, just as long as when I would be ‘wired’ on a pre-workout stim, except this time I was focused and not feeling cracked out, racing heart rate, etc. So I would say that my ‘muscle endurance’ while on the one was definitely stimulated in a positive way.

Motivation/Focus
The first few days I really noticed a GREAT increase in motivation and focus. As time went on, it became less apparent, but I am assuming it’s because I just got used to the effects. In the gym, my focus was through the roof. While listening to my IPOD, I could EASILY get myself pissed off and REALLY focus on my lifts, I felt REALLY strong, and VERY motivated. Thinking about it now gets me way stoked, I wanna smash some weights!

Mood
This was one of my FAVORITE changes. Prior to the one, I was feeling kinda ‘down and out,’ I was literally taking blow after blow and life pretty much seemed like it was really going down in the dumps, until.. I started the one. Honestly, I haven’t had ONE mood swing, or felt horrible AT ALL since starting the one. I’d say I’ve been more ‘on the ball,’ ready to take on the world. I don’t know if perhaps my feelings before could be in correlation with my ‘lower’ total test levels reported on my pre-cycle blood work? Perhaps. If so, I really hope my PCT helps to kick test production in big time and keep me up in the zone. It sucks feeling like a zombie! And really, I could say that I have a better overall feeling of myself now, almost like a new level of acceptance, a new level of freedom, a new level of confidence. Thank you AN!

Appetite
In the first 2 weeks, my appetite was THROUGH the ROOF. It felt a easier to put away more food down the hatch most definitely. As the days went on, it seemed to level off, but every few days or so, I would be craving large amounts of food once again. The problem with me is, sometimes I don’t have time to spread my meals out, so I have to force a few LARGE meals in, instead of spreading it out into multiple meals throughout the day. Thus, I would get to the point where I would almost gag because there was so much food inside me.. talk about appetite killer! Not to mention, the more food in my stomach, the longer it takes to breakdown, so it takes longer for me to be able to recover and eat more. As far as intake, I stayed around 4000-4500 calories daily; before I was taking in around 3000-3500 daily. My average daily caloric intake I’d say was around 1k over how much I was previously taking in.

Health related/Side effects
Really, I didn’t notice anything. I had a few paranoid episodes of gyno (never had gyno before), hair loss, etc. but really, I didn’t experience any of the above (besides some minor facial acne from increased oil production). Hopefully during PCT I won’t experience any of the above (besides expected minor acne). As soon as my blood work comes back, I will compare my pre-cycle values with my post-cycle values, as well as my final values (which will be taken a month after PCT completion). Also, I noticed a few people talking about how their ‘core’ felt like it was heating up big time. I actually didn’t notice this even once while on the one, maybe mine is always heated up? Or maybe it just didn’t affect me. Other than that, I experienced some minor joint discomfort, which was taken care of by increasing my fish oil intake (along with taking joint support). Therefore, as previously stated.. Side effects were virtually non-existent.

Sleep
I really didn’t have any sleep issues; I usually toss and turn for 30min to an hr before I fall asleep in bed. Once I was out, I was out for the count hah. The one didn’t seem to really interfere with my sleep at all. As far as lethargy from the one, I usually become tired in the afternoon after eating a big lunch, in which this never changed while on cycle. Therefore, I didn’t really notice any change in sleeping while on the one.

Summary
In conclusion, I am very happy with my experience using ‘the one.’ Again, this was my first prohormone (possibly the only PH I will ever run) and I was extremely satisfied with not only the science behind the product, but AN as a corporation and as a ‘supportive family.’ Being able to receive help/information from AN reps regarding the cycle really made this whole experience that much more ‘personal.’. I honestly thought I would never run a prohormone.. that is, until I found out about ‘the one.’ I’d like to send out a special thanks to Jeff from AN for talking with me about ‘the one’ at this past body fit expo for probably over an hr; Jeff is a very nice knowledgeable dude, thanks a lot man. I’d also like to send out thanks to all the rest of the AN reps/staff that helped me out (EasyEJL, Guejsn and others) and a special thanks to Dirk (rms80) for answering my seemingly never ending questions regarding the one starting back in January.
So would I recommend ‘the one’ to others? Absolutely. But do it right, prepare yourself for the cycle, make a game plan, make sure you have everything laid out and ready to go. As Dirk initially told me, once you get into the game, it’s hard to get out. In other words, be smart about it, separate yourself from the crowd and do it right. Don’t be a tool bag! Anyway, looks like I’ve come to the end of my review. PLEASE, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, please feel free to ask. I love to help out others, just as others have helped me out. Also, keep an eye out for upcoming blood results, updates, etc. Thanks!

Lower reps, higher weight may help with gaining muscle mass in your legs. Otherwise, doing a couple of Legs sessions a week may be something to think about (on TOP of eating enough for an army). Changing your Legs exercises to include front squats, back squats, sumo squats, deadlifts, lunges; and othjer exercises that include use of legs, such as power cleans, clean and press, clean and jerk, hang cleans, etc., may also be something to think about.

:thanks: That is the most comprehensive and detailed review ever, Noah!!! Thank you for selcting The ONE for your first hormonal experience, and for taking the time to log it as thoroughly as you did. I'm stoked that you broke through plateaus; your gains, as I mentioned before, were very noticeable in your 'before' and 'after' pics. :wave2:

Soon and very soon I will have the blood results.. hopefully tomorrow! If not Monday. I really hope my test levels are/were SKY HIGH haha

Well, today's the day, I SHOULD be getting my blood work results. Also, today is my 5th day on PCT. I haven't lost any weight, and my strength seems to be the same as it was before. I'll have a better idea after tonight's workout for sure. I also went ahead and started using sustain alpha (transdermal; smells like ****!) as well as toco-8. I also seem to have a small amount of body acne, I am hoping that is a sign that my natural test production is jumping back up into place. Other than that, I am feeling great, and my mood is pretty damn stable. Any questions, comments, concerns, please feel free to ask.

Awesome gains. You look like you could eat the "You" from before.

With you taking your PH's so early what sort of time were you working out? Would you say 10 is too early your first two with the third one a lunch if you were going to work out at 4/5?

I was consistently working out at around 5-5:30pm every evening. I would either take all 3 capsules at 9am, or 2 at 9am, and 1 at around 1pm.

UPDATE ON BLOOD WORK:

Wow, I don't even know what to say. The doctor just called me and told me my blood work was in, but that there was a PROBLEM with the results. He said that they were able to get the SHBG level, but not the total or free test levels because there was a MISTAKE and the blood needed to be drawn in an additional vile. So he promptly said I could come in to have it re-drawn for the test levels.. WHAT THE ****? IT'S TOO LATE NOW. Wow, how ****ing unprofessional, do they have nujacks working there? I can't believe this, I am VERY pissed off. I am about to leave on my way over there now to pick up a paper copy of the results, I will post them up when I get back. He said my SHGB level was 8, which is very low. I am assuming there was significant suppression than? Correct me if I'm wrong. Arghh, this is completely upsetting, I can't believe they ****ed up this hard.

This sucks, I feel like the whole thing just went out the ****ing window. This was what I was looking forward to, seeing my test levels, higher than normal, next level findings... now ill never know what my test levels would have read. Bullshit.

That's not cool at all, re Total Testosterone and Free Testosterone. However, if you PAID for them, then you should be able to get them redone!

As for your SHBG levels; it depends what they are measured in. The normal values for an adult male for SHBG are 6-50 nmol/L, so yes, 8 nmol/L IS low. However a low value for SHBG does NOT mean that you had suppression; it means that less of your Total Testosterone was being bound, therefore creating more FREE Testosterone in your system (which is what you want, since it's only FREE Testosterone that can help you gain muscle mass; having high Total Testosterone levels are useless, because you cannot use it if it is BOUND). If your Total Testosterone was lower than your initial values, then THAT would mean suppression.

Well, they already refunded me the money for the test level failure. Does it really matter now to even get my test values? Iv been on PCT for a week now.. My next schd test is for 1 month after finishing pct.

I would. If you got it now, then you might have some idea.

Alright, so I will be getting my Total Test, Free Test, and SHBG drawn once again tomorrow. I decided to get SHBG done again to see if there is any difference and to perhaps get an idea of what my test levels were at before (in correlation with my SHBG values). Below is my pre-cycle blood work, with my current post-cycle blood work values aside in red. If there is no red value next to the entry, that means the doctor 'screwed up' on the post-cycle results and didn't provide them.

Lipid Panel:
Triglycerides = 66 / 69 (<150 mg/dL)
Cholesterol, Total = 133 / 159 (125-200 mg/dL)
HDL Cholesterol = 48 / 33 (> OR = 40mg/dL)
LDL Cholesterol = 72 / 112(<130 mg/dL)

CHOL/HDLC Ratio = 2.8 / 4.8 (< OR =5.0)
Testosterone, Total = 554 (Adult male: 241-827) / 518 (LCMSMS; 250-1100)
% Free Testosterone = 1.65 (1.5-2.2)
Testosterone, Free = 85.7 (35.0-155.0)
Estradiol = 31 (13-54 pg/mL)
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) = 8 (7-49 nmol/L) / 22 (7-49 nmol/L)

Comprehensive Metabolic:
Glucose = 83 / 89 (65-99 mg/dL)
Urea Nitrogen (BUN) = 26 H / 22 (7-25 mg/dL)
Creatinine = 1.15 / 1.09 (0.50-1.30 mg/dL)
BUN/Creatinine Ratio = 23 H / WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS (6-22)
Sodium = 142 / 139 (135-146 mmol/L)
Potassium = 5.7 H / 5.0 (3.5-5.3 mmol/L)
Chloride = 104 / 103 (98-110 mmol/L)
Carbon Dioxide = 25 / 26 (21-33 mmol/L)
Calcium = 9.6 / 9.5 (8.6-10.2 mg/dL)
Protein, Total = 7.6 / 7.3 (6.2-8.3 g/dL)
Albumin = 5.0 / 4.6 (3.6-5.1 g/dL)
Globulin = 2.6 / 2.7 (2.1-3.7 g/dL)
Albumin/Globulin Ratio = 1.9 / 1.7 (1.0-2.1)
Bilirubin, Total = 0.3 / 0.4 (0.2-1.2 mg/dL)
Alkaline Phosphatase = 75 / 52 (40-115 U/L)
AST = 15 / 33 (10-40 U/L)
ALT = 15 / 45 (9-60 U/L)

UPDATE: So as you can see, I FINALLY got back the rest of my test results.. Please keep in mind, the added results (2nd total test level, % free, free test, 2nd SHBG level) were done a week into PCT, since the results from the day after finishing the cycle were 'screwed up' and unavailable. Although, one of the tests that came through from the 'screwed up' batch was SHBG, you can see that from there, to when I retested it a week into PCT, it rose from 8 to 22. Score! Also, another thing I'd like to point out is that the 'total test' level was measured in a different reference range the 2nd time, so the numbers don't exactly correlate.

Please, I would love some expert/veteran insight on these values. The first things I notice are, my HDL cholesterol level dropped a lot, will it rebound? Why did it drop so much? Also, both of my liver values (AST/ALT) went from 15 to 33/45.. Will those rebound? What should I do to help get my levels back down? Also, what other things are of importance after examining my blood results? Thanks in advance everyone.

Resveratrol, Phosphatidyl serine or choline, NAC, ALA or RLA, Tocotrienols, judicious use of those and time will help bring everything back to baseline JMO

Well, I know at least I have some resveratrol currently running through my system, as far as the others, I will have to do some research. Here's what my PCT stack looks like:

2nd Gear
IGF-2
Drive
Cycle Assist
Sustain Alpha
Toco-8

Just got my blood drawn, will have my total test/free test/SHBG levels in a few days. Anyway, can some reps/vets/etc please chime in on my blood work results, I'd like to get some input. Thanks.

Will do once they're all up.

Totally normal on any cycle for that to happen. You could easily see those liver values just by working out before getting the blood draw :) so its not bad at all.

FINALLY, ALL THE BLOOD WORK RESULTS ARE BACK! Please look above for the info and please post accordingly, thanks for all the help thusfar.

For the HDL decrease and the LDL increase- yes, this is just temporary- readings like this this are pretty normal for oral PHs. Your liver, triglyceride, total cholesterol, and kidney values were in the normal range, and so were all the other physiological markers- this is good bloodwork for having just done an oral PH. This is why you cycle these compounds- everything will normalize within 3-5 weeks.

Take the Biomend, Omega Essentials, and taking some niacin would not be a bad idea- you will have your levels normalized in no time

Everything was within normal limits. Dirk already touched on the lipid profile changes.

Other notes:
* I would not have expected your SHBG to become elevated that much. It is possible that it increased because your body was not producing as much of its own androgens.
* It would have been interesting to see what your Free Testosterone was PRE-cycle, as it most likely would have been higher than it was post, due to the lower SHBG and higher Total Testosterone levels.
* If your hormonal bloods were taken later in the day, then your Free Testosterone would have been lower than if you'd had them taken first thing, so that could also be a factor. ~2% Free Testosterone is optimal, but you're still well above the minimum of 0.3% (yes, it should be 0.3-5% for normal values).
* Increase in AST and ALT is most likely due to to increased muscular cellular damage and muscle trauma from training, as opposed to liver damage (although if there was some small acute damage, your body will repair it), since your values are still within normal limits. However, once PCT is over, the next values will tell us more.

All in all, as Dirk said, good bloodwork. Thank you for having it done :)
