Shred Matrix: Evening Workout

I didn't end up taking a second pack of Shred Matrix. My primary reason was that I had TONS of adrenaline rushing through me, due to a couple of unusual activities that occurred throughout the day. I felt like taking another pack would put my heart rate up too high and that I'd feel overly stimulated. So I stuck with one. :)

3x14

Step Ups: first set w/ 30 lbs DBs, Body Weight for following sets
supersetted w/ DB Arnold Presses: first set w/ 30lbs, following w/ 25lbs

Wide Grip Pull Downs: 105 lbs
w/ Seated Calves: 90lbs

DB Bicep Curls: 20lbs
w/ Cable Tricep Extensions: 70lbs

When I started with my Step-Up/Arnold Press superset, I really thought that I could use the 30 pounders for both movements. But after I completely that set I felt completely drained. :sorry: More drained than usual. I think that this mornings Deadlift Maxout really shot my entire body. I decided to take the rest of the session easier. I'm still feeling pretty worked out and I am certainly looking forward to some deep sleep tonight.

For your information, I weighed in at 158 this morning on an empty stomach. Also my waist has seemed to go down about 1/2 inch since I last measured it, although I think it may be because of the time I measured it. (I measured in the morning this time, rather than afternoon. Therefore it is probably more accurate.)

Shred Matrix: Day 26

This mornings workout was rough. I am exhausted from all of the difficult compound movements that I had to push through. Blech... I just want to sleep now! :tired:

Shred Matrix gave me a little kick that helped get me through the workout. For that I am thankful! :) I'm looking forward to going back to the gym tonight, after I've taken a nap and am more refreshed.

4x6

Swiss Ball DB Squats: 45 lbs (PR)
w/ Rear Deltoid Raises: 20lbs

BB Cleans: 80 lbs
w/ DB Bench Press: 40lbs

Lunges: 30lbs
w/ Cable Curls: 70lbs

Last time I did Swiss Ball Squats I used the 45 lbs dumb bells for 3 reps. so I increased the weight by 20lbs overall, for twice as many reps! It was killer! The cleans were very difficult as well, and by the time I got around to the lunges, I felt like I could do no more than 30lbs. I really pushed myself. It is a great feeling!:smirk:

I agree. :) It is great that we have the opportunity to workout together all the time. We don't have to sacrifice time with one another to make our bodies feel, look and function better. Thanks for helping me out all the time, R. ;)

How do you two pull it off? I only have the chance to work out with my girl maybe... 2-3 times a week because of schedule conflicts.

Well, our schedules are pretty flexible right now, so we just coordinate things accordingly.

I'm set up so I only work on non-lifting days most of the time and that really helps.

Wow homie. Congrats. I would absolutely love a schedule like that.

Shred Matrix: Day 26 Evening Workout

I got in an amazing workout tonight. Shred Matrix paired with Assault is a winning combo! :D I had endless energy, high stamina and great strength. The flavor of Assault is so delicious! One of the best supplement drinks I've ever had.

4x10

Leg Press: 200, 220, 240
w/ DB Bent Rows: 35 lbs

Cable Press: 45 lbs
w/ Leg Press Calf Raises: 270 lbs

NG BB Decline Bench: 80lbs
w/ DB Hammer Curls: 30lbs

Shred Matrix: Day 25

This morning I took a pack of Shred Matrix about 45 minutes prior to lifting. 45 minutes seems to give it just enough time to hit my system and give me an extra boost for working out. In the mornings I am particularly tired and I really appreciate the endurance and stamina that SM provides.

Fat loss is coming along nicely. My stomach area is really getting smaller and more defined. This is my trouble area, and so making progress in my tummy is a good sign! Also, I've noticed fat loss around my collar bone and shoulders. Veins are more noticeable, they aren't popping out, but I can actually see the little blue beauties, which is a sign of some more fat loss progress. :D I will have to post some pics for you soon. I will make an effort to get some up this next coming week. Unfortunately, the camera that I am borrowing from my family isn't high quality, so a lot of the time the pics come out a bit blurry. I do the best that I can with what I got- some are better than none.

Morning Workout:

5x5
BB Romanian Deadlifts:165 lbs, 175lbs
DB Standing Military Press: 35lbs

5x5 Supinated Wide Grip Pull Downs: 120, 135
5x7 Cable Pull Through: 100lbs

5x7
EZ Bar Reverse Curls: 45lbs
DB Front Raise: 15 lbs

I wish my fatloss was coming along like yours! Things have seemed to back off a little for me. As of yesterday, I changed my diet up a bit to include more carbohydrates and less fat.

I wish my fatloss was coming along like yours! Things have seemed to back off a little for me. As of yesterday, I changed my diet up a bit to include more carbohydrates and less fat.

Hopefully that will work for you. It usually takes me a week or two before my body starts to noticeably burn the fat off.

I have carbs in the morning, a shake during both workouts of the day, and a bit of carbs in the form of solid food after my evening workout. It seems to be working pretty well for me. I am carb cycling. moderate carbs on my workout days, low on off days, and high on Fridays. I usually have a cheat meal on Friday nights, and it seems to help boost my fat loss. For some people having a cheat once a week hinders them, but it seems to help me out. And makes me happy! :D :pizza:

I'd go nuts if I didn't cheat now and then. Sunday afternoon In N' Out runs are my bad habit of choice. They are gonna be going by the wayside in less than a month... gotta enjoy it while I can.

Resolve and I are going to BJ's for our pizza cheat tonight, and have planned to do so for the past week. Well, last night I was dreaming about all of the delicious carb-filled foods that they have: stuffed potato skins, chips and bruchetta, santa fe rolls, PIZZAAAA..... :pizza:

I took a nap this afternoon, and the whole 2 hours I was dreaming of the same thing. :684:

Well this is great...I'm sitting here slamming the blandest of meals, and you're dreaming of cheesy-treats.

Seriously.

Lol, but hey if it works.. it works.. right? How thin are you trying to get BW? We're not talking runway are we?

no way! I do not want to be a "runway model"/"fashion model". I'd have to lose at least 15 lbs of muscle as well as a lot of fat. I could be a fitness model if I got to a low enough body fat, but I don't even want to go there at this point. Too far ahead for me to think about. :/

Right now I'm aiming for 15-16% BF. I'm making good progress, I'm at about 17% I'd say.

Shred Matrix: Day 25, Evening Workout

4x12

DB Romanian Deadlifts: 60 lbs DBs
w/ Incline DB Press: 35 lb DBs

Cable Cross Overs: 45 lbs
w/ Rotary Calf Raises: 170 lbs

DB Tricep Extensions: 22.5 lbs
w/ DB Bicep Curls: 22.5

I pushed myself so hard this workout, particularly on the RDLs. I set a PR here. :) I believe that I lifted 55 lb DBs last week, so that would make it a 10 lbs increase altogether.

Yeah, she did, and she's only lost 1-2lb of weight - the rest she has totally recomped. I've said it before, but BW is the ultimate mesomorph, and it makes me jealous.

But's it's also a testament to the efficacy of total body training and a moderate carb diet.

Wow! 17%! Didn't you start at 23% in your X-Force log?

Yep :)

You are making some good progress as well! you have gained a lot of muscle, and you are looking leaner. ;)

Here are some pics! Tell me what you all think of my fat loss progress.

Wow!!!! HUUUUGE difference, BW! You look amazing! Great job!

Thank you! I have been trying. :) Sometimes I go overboard with my cheating, which isn't good. :sad3: It is usually only once a week though, sometimes even less.

This week I will probably be changing my routine around a bit. I'll be working out 3 times this week, but only doing one workout each day. I'll still be doing those body weight circuits though!

Shred Matrix: Day 26

Today, Wednesday, and Friday I will be doing only one workout. Afterward I'll most likely be finishing it off with sprints. At least 2 off days this week I'll be completing a body weight circuit.

I took Shred Matrix about 45 minutes ago, and am feel it kicking in right now. My heart rate is a bit higher and I'm feeling very alert. I'll be working out at around 1pm today, and will take my second pack around then. I'll let you know how the workout goes! ;)

I just realized that I've been on Shred for 5 weeks! this stuff has lasted me a long time. I've been thinking that its only been 3 or 4. Time has flown, and I have seen some great progress thus far. I've lost about 1% in body fat, and I believe that I am still going strong! :D

Shred Matrix: Day 26 Workout

4x6

Squats: 155 lbs
w/ Supinated Cable Rows: 105 lbs

Dips: body weight
w/ Unilateral Leg Extensions: 75 lbs

3x8

DB Flies: 20 lbs, 25 lbs
w/ Seated Calf Raises: 115 lbs

Cable Rope Tricep Extensions: 80lbs
w/ Cable Bicep Curls: 70 lbs

Sprints

I was disappointed with how much weight I used for my squats. I really had hoped that I would have been able to do 165 lbs for at least the last 2 sets, but I new that in order to do so I would have had to sacrificed form. :( It made me sad. I just tried to hit rock bottom with good form instead of bumping the weights up. I've been feeling a little under the weather lately, and I am sure that this has something to do with my lack of strength.

I had no problem with my dips. The last time that I did 4x6 it was difficult to pump them all out with a good range of motion. This time I went past parallel with them all. It was difficult, but I'm getting stronger.

I had some funny looking bald guy staring at me while I did my curls. My arms were about the same size as his, but his were primarily fat. I had a huge pump going as I completed my last set, and I think it kinda' scared him!

Anyway, I went directly into my sprints, and that is when fatigue began to really hit me. I was soo beat, and still am. I took my second pack of Shred Matrix right after I finished my workout and it is surely the reason I am awake right now! I got home and post workout made myself an oatmeal pancake with yogurt and berries on top...yum, yum! :yumyum: Resolve made up the recipe, and I modified it to make the texture thicker.

I tend to have good and bad days on every exercise. Don't let not hitting your PR get you down. And you are very smart to keep form rather than sacrificing it for a increase of weight.

Shred Matrix: Day 27

Today I have been off from lifting. I went on a 45 minute fasted walk.

I have a couple notes to make on Shred Matrix: I prefer taking one pack of Shred Matrix on my off days, while two work better for lifting days. It seems like on the days I lift I can use extra energy, and two packs of SM seems to be just right. But on the days that I don't lift I am not as tired and one pack is sufficient for the day. If I take two packs on my off days, I tend to have a more difficult time getting to sleep in the evening.

I think I will stick to taking one pack on off days, two packs on lifting days, and Saturday and Sunday being my break for SM all together. What do you think?

Whatever works best for you is what you should do. Fat loss has more to do with diet and cardio than any supplement. So if you sleep better with just one packet, then use just one packet. Sleep in itself is immensely important, definitely more important than a fat burner.

Shred Matrix: Day 28

I've noticed this past week that I haven't had any cravings for junk food or unhealthy carbs. I've really been enjoying my usual healthy diet. I'm not completely positive that it is Shred Matrix, but I think that is. :) And I like it very much!

Workout:

6x3

BB Deadlifts: 165, 175, 185, 195 lb
w/ BB Push Press: 95 lb

Chin-Ups: Body Weight
w/ 6x7 Leg Curls: 90lb

4x7

Leg Press Calf Raises: 210 lbs
w/ Lat Raises: 25 lb

Overhead Tricep Extensions: 22.5 lb
w/ Hammer Curls: 30 lbs

Shred Matrix: Day 29

Today was very eventful! I took one pack of Shred Matrix in the morning, and did a fasted circuit around 11am. After that I was up and about cleaning the house until 3pm, then went grocery shopping for a couple of hours. I haven't had much time to sit down- but the activity is certainly good for fat-loss. And I am certainly tired! :08:

I've enjoyed eating healthy foods a lot today, same as all this week. I had some home made Chicken and Beef Curry for dinner with broccoli, sprouts and green onions stir fried into it, along with some kim-chi. Wow, was it good.

I have about 1 week left of Shred Matrix... just giving everyone a heads up. :)

Shred Matrix: Day 30

I took Shred Matrix this morning like usual. I was feeling very energetic, and excited about lifting even though it was earlier in the morning than usual for me. I was able to get a great workout, and set a couple PRs even. :D

DB Swiss Ball Squats: 55 lb DBs (PR)
w/ DB Rear Delt Raises: 25 lb DBs

BB Bench Press: 95 lb, 100 lb (PR)
w/ BB Cleans: 90 lb

4x7

DB Lunges: 35 lb

Cable Tricep Extensions: 60 lb
w/ Cable Bicep Curls: 70 lb

I was very excited with my Bench Press! I was happy to increase my weight. :) The ball squats were absolutely killing me! I squat all the way down with body weight to pick up the DBs off of the floor, and I could barely get back up with the 55 pounders. With the Swiss ball I get amazing range of motion- ass to the grass. And my ass is torn apart right now! :sigh: I increased my ball squats by 20 lb overall. :woohoo:

LOL... I wasn't gonna go there, but yea, you set yourself up bigtime BW.

sounds like a great plan!
I havent been checking in on this log as much as id like, I have so many subbed logs its hard to keep up really. Sorry about that, looks like things are going well. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask.

BW, I think you totally crushed me on our little deal we had going...I don't see myself Squatting 405 anytime soon, and you've already crushed 225 on Deadlifts.

Nice work!

Thanks Piston! It is nice to have you checking in. :D

And IC: Yeah, I know. :p It made me happy... and thank you for challenging me to that.
