Calipers say I'm around 11%

Yea I would say 11-12. You hold your bodyfat in the exact same place I do, my lower back and lovehandles... and for me at least, the love handles don't go away until I hit about 8% or under.
 
Sweet. I'll hold off for more epinions, but I'm feeling pretty good about this thus far.. Looks like my efforts have been paying off!

Damn.. That is loooow. I'm on my way though. I plan to get as lean as possible before about mid-ferbruary.. Hoping to cut 2-4% by then.

Figure you can cut about 2-3% a month... 4% would impress me in 2 weeks. That's 6.8 lbs of bodyfat... probably not impossible, but might be at the risk of losing muscle. I would say a 2% loss by mid-feb would be a great goal, and 9-10% bf is nothing to sneeze at.

I'd surely be happy to be on the lower end of 10% by then.. **** yes!

Good luck bro. I would say to hit cardio every day, and to mix it up as much as possible.

45 minutes uphill SSCV walking in the morning, fasted, and HIIT sprints in the afternoon 3-4 days a week... you can mix up your HIIT.

Another great way to get a thin waist is to overtrain your abs... I know it sounds funny, but if you hit them faster than they can rebuild, you'll lose some size around the waist. This isn't always best if your workout involves a lot of compound movements though.

I was quoted at 12% and carry more visible fat than you in my abdomen area. So, sure I agree.
 
The fewer sites you take, the higher the error. I have used to do a 3-point test and it was usually 2-3% too low (e.g. it gave me readings at 4-5% and I was closer to 7-8%).

Nearly certain doing fasted workouts has really kicked my fat-loss into gear.. I think that's what has made the biggest difference.. Oh yeah, and the Paleo Diet!
 
I was pondering things the other day..

once I'm sub 10% with 5-10 more pounds of lean mass... I'm thinking I might look for some part-time work as a fitness model.

Any thoughts?
 
If I were you, I would get my BF% pretty low before I started... probably <8%. You should ask Russianstar about it, I know he does fitness modeling. His physique is pretty appropriate of where you should be to do that kind of modeling.

I was actually serious, they pay $1400-2000 for a days "work". I know at least 3-4 guys who have been propositioned for that from their bb.com bodyspace pics. crazy stuff :D

i'm actually managing to stick to my cutting plan this time, i've now hit week 5 or 6 and i haven't given up and decided to go back and bulk or recomp. Still a while to go to even hit 10%, but i'm feeling good about it this time.

Go that route and you'll never work anywhere else in the modeling/entertainment business... it's like signing up to be blacklisted.

Actually if I get there too i may be interested. Probably some market for older guys in that sort of shape, and less of them to go around :D

How long did it take you to get the hang of things doing a fasted workout? How long it took for your toleration level to kick in...it would take me quite a while to get use to doing it.

I honestly didn't notice much of a drop-off in total strength, however, ability to maintain strength set-after-set was affected most certainly. Now after about a week (3 workouts) I wound up adjusting in both aspects.

So it really didn't take long!

haha nice! your holding body fat in the same place I hold it too. I can be down to 11 % like you too and the little love handles will still stick out like that.

I'm under the impression that this is the worst possible place EVER to hold body fat.. Looks bad, and it's unhealthy.. why me!!

Most guys hold their fat there. Look at it this way, you could hold your fat in your chest and have man-boobies. Probably more annoying and unattractive than love handles.
 
What type of photography do you do? Do you have an online portfolio?

I shoot mostly commercial and event photography, and when the job comes along I will do glamor work... not really my cup of tea, and honestly it doesn't pay nearly as well as the event photography does.

I hesitate to give out my websites on this website because I don't need my clients knowing that I have used steroids... it would be potentially harmful to my image, especially in event photography where many of the events are weddings or religious events, in which how the client perceives me is a big selling point.

Ozarka - I am gonna PM you with some tips/pointers about getting started in the modeling world, I just have to find some free time today. I'll probably send it later this afternoon.
