Man, two of my buddies bought stun guns at a gun show back when we were about 20 years old. All of us have been zapped at least once because of it. I didn't find it humorous at all.
 
LOL Well I have never had to use it. But I did have a cop that goes to my gym tell me to hit myself with it several times to deaden my response to it. That way if anyone ever takes it from me I could still function...uhm no thanks!

However the noise from it makes a good dog attention getter. When the Mastiffs are being bad all I have to do is hit the button and they stop! lol must be the noise. Now I had it turned upside down once and got my fingers...that hurt!

yeah she had to get shot with it too so that if it ever was turned on her she would be able to tolerate it. A pretty interesting night... I always used to play with my dogs shock collars though so i enjoy pain.

i had one in my pocket once,and i reached in to grab it and accidentally grabbed it by the button,and omg!..i tassed myself through my pants,and did the james brown foot dance on my tippy-toes!..BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!:lol:

I imagine it would take more than 5-6 times before it would deaden your response to it. I don't know if I could hit myself that many times with one.

That damn crackling sound it makes scares the sh*t out of me now every time I hear it. That blue arc of electricity is serious business.
 
lol, The only thing I have been shocked with is the makeshift tasers made out of cameras. My friend left it charging for 1/2 hour and then shocked me while I was on mushrooms. Oddest experience of my life.

I was way to high for it to ruin my trip. I recall it just made my legs feel like cement, and then I laughed for about half-an-hour straight. I still have the tiny scars, actually!
 
OFF DAY

This is that one day of the week that I have a total rest day. No weights, no cardio, NO FUN!! :aargh:

I will say that I now have 2 very nice, agreeable, and compliant co-workers with which to work with!! :lol:
One bought my supper last night. The other brought me some DVD's. Amazing the changes one 24 hour period can bring forth. I may have to get evil more often. J/K

When I got to work, I asked them, "So, is this where we decide to get along, or where we decide to get it on? Because I am ready for either scenario." Surprisingly, they said they didn't want any problems with me and were sorry for any misunderstanding! Wow, just freakin' wow. ha ha

As Bugs Bunny said, "Humans are the craziest people!!" :toofunny:
 
I'm glad it worked out with no fighting and nobody losing their jobs.

I have an EMS (electro muscle stimulator) device I used to use after every workout. Some powerlifters and bodybuilders use these to help their muscles recover after intense exercise. And Lee Haney (7-time Mr. Olympia) said that it helped to harden his muscles.

I need to break it back out and start using it again since I'm training very intensely now. It has 4 large pads. And I can set the pulse frequency for either short, quick bursts or a steady and fierce contraction hold. My wife would watch me use it and shake her head in disbelief. It does cause incredible pain! It looks as if the muscles will jump right off the bone!!

I was using it for chest one afternoon and watching a little television at the same time, when the door bell rang. I left it going on a slow but intense pulse and answered the door. It was my brother. I opened the door and his eyes looked like this....:eek: LOL He said, "Brother...what in the Hel are you doing??!!"
I said, "Drinking the lightening, little bro!!" :lol:

Have you done any measurments or weighins since the recomp started? It seems like you are making some serious progress man!

Not measurements. I will take those at the end of the recomp in 8 days from now.
This morning's weigh-in: 237 lbs.
Pre-Recomp weigh-in: 248 lbs.

I feel like I'm looking rather flat at this point. My muscles are harder and more dense in appearance though. I will continue with low carbs until 2 days out from the end. They will get even lower over the next 5 days. Then I will up the carbs for 2 days significantly to fill out my muscles before taking new photos.

Nice progress on the weight TG. Yeah, you'll go thru periods of flatness for sure; this is psychologically debilitating to a lot of ppl, but do not worry bro. Necessary steps in the process..

interesting. i know bruce lee swore by those EMS pads. i assume they work by building a pump - not necessarily tearing the muscles like weights do. provided enough nutrients are in your system, a pump should shuttle more nutrients to the muscle based on the increased blood flow.

have you noticed any increases in muscle size from the EMS, or not so much?

My old trainer used to use them, he would sit down and use them all evening, he swore by them.

I remember back in the late 80's, those EMS things were touted as the 'next big thing'..obviously it never took off.
I think TG/Suncloud hit the nail on the head: the stimulation might have some benefits in recovery perhaps, but certainly, you're not gonna get big & develop the muscle with this..
 
I could see where they would encourage more blood flow to the muscles to aid in recovery but, not enough stimulation for any breakdown to cause growth.
Timber, do you remember in Jacka$$ when Pontious put them under his sack? That was some funny stuff...

I will tell you from experience that it's a bad idea. Yeah, drunken nights with my Unit when we returned from our first tour was a blur. The shock to my nuts is the only thing that I remember... that and some Mexican chick named Quinta and her ping pong. Don't ask. :D
