I'll be Primed till Xmas (How an old fugger gets down).

Chest and quads:

I decided to try using all dumbells because they seem to be easier on my shoulder I started out with the 90's for six and the sets went very well, I only dropped down to the 85's when I did 8. It's still a bit frustrating as I should be doing 40 more lbs based on how strong I feel now but I have to be carefull. I did incline flies at the same weight as last week and then into decline db press where I added another 10 lbs. I had no difficulty so again I only dropped 5 lbs for my set of 8 and on the second rep I went to wide and felt my shoulder pop. It wasn't serious at all but it was scary. Yah now I have to think long and hard about dumbells because even though they are not as hard on my shoulder it's much easier to get out of position and do serious damage. I guess a reduction in weight and slower reps may be in order.... damn! I am tired of having to be so carefull! I want to tear it up.

I went up another 10 lbs on the single leg presses, I am continually pleasantly surprised on how I am able to handle these increases. I went up another 15 on the single leg extensions and could only hold the first set but the second set I did this week I could only hold for one set last week so I have made good progress. Today my legs are sore as hell though.

I am again a little leaner and looking huge. Hard as a rock as always. I do feel it a bit in my chest but not the way I want I need to find a way to murder my chest so I get the effect I am getting on other muscle parts. Maybe slow reps with a superset on wide pushups. hmmmm yess could work. How about slow high reps with the pushups yah that could work.
 
Back and Shoulders:

It started out not that great, I was my performance on pulldowns wide and reverse was not any better then the previous week. I do have a tendancy to get stuck on this exercise but I am up 30 lbs so I guess I can't complain too much.

Then it was time for bent over rows. What the hek lets throw on another 10 lbs even know things were tight last week. The first set was a tiny bit jerky and I barely missed my last rep. I know this stuff though and I knew my second set would be better and I was right not only was it better than the first but better than any I did the previous week. It was worth going to the gym just for that set. I finshed out strong at lighter weight.

Time for the dreaded shoulder giant set... I did not add weight but was resolved to improve form and intensity. Mission accomplished and what a mega pump.

Weigh in was very interesting I weighed in at 238.8 which is almost 3 lbs up from last week and I look leaner. So lets recap I appear about 6 lbs lighther and I am up around 1 lb overall. So lets say 7 lbs in 5 weeks give or take. Despite my inability to train chest hard as I want I have been able to gain there as well.

Yah I got that email. I am not much of a preworkout supp guy as I am always more intense than I need to be in the gym. Sure there may be some days where a little boost is needed but not enough to make me want to buy something and those days are so few. I can't remember too many bad workouts...

Most of my bad workout days happen when I'm low on sleep, and usually Pre-WO supps don't fix that. I try and use pre-WO supps only 3 times a week so I don't get hooked on caffeine. Once I get in the gym and get going, I find the energy is usually there. JP8 for 1st thing morning workouts has been helping me for the past few months, but that's only if I train right when I wake up.

It's nice to see the recomp effect DW :thumbsup:

Yah if I worked out early in the morning that might change things. Cardio in the morning is one thing lifting would be more difficult for me.
 
One thing I have been thinking about for my next Prime run is they say Prime is not a Test booster what happens if you stack it with something that does increase overall Test. I have been thinking something with Testofen. Any other ideas...
 
Wow quite a battle... it was Hams, calves and arms.

I continue to have a hard time maintaining my increases on these machine lifts with the 15 lb increases not too much to report either way. I did great on calves went up 10 lbs.

Tricep decline extensions were about the same as last week I had no spotter so I took it conservative as there is some pull on my shoulder. I did get an extra rep on close grip bench over last week however.

I did a PR on straight bar preachers 120 X 6 with a drop to 105. The second set was even better as I repeated the feat. Third time around I failed at 4 and dropped the weight tried for 8 at 105 and failed at 6. Those I fuggin heavy sets and my 120 is worth some peoples 170 as I use full range of motion.

I am leaner and bigger and sore as hell. Typing is painful lol

Changing up next week... incidently this is the first time I have been able to be progressive for 5 weeks.

I like the addition of Testofen. I have been using 2 grams per day during my 40 day run of PRIME. I also was using 2 grams of Icariin, and 2 grams of Resveratrol. I think you would like something like that DW!!

Yes, the Icariin is 20% from either Bulk Nutrition or NutraPlanet. The resveratrol is from MegaResveratrol.com and is their 50% Extract. Very good stuff. A little pricey. It is the TransResveratrol which I have read is the best kind to use.

Yup, Trans-Resveratrol is the activate isomer. The NP is 98% trans-resveratrol :thumbsup: Must have been fun to stack with testofen and Icariin. High doses of testofen gave me quite a good libido boost.

Yup, Trans-Resveratrol is the activate isomer. The NP is 98% trans-resveratrol :thumbsup: Must have been fun to stack with testofen and Icariin. High doses of testofen gave me quite a good libido boost.

A libido boost at this time is not a high priority... in fact it is not a requirement at all. :rofl:

No promises on that one DW!! Those big ass guns of yours could go off at any time!! The E-Form/Icariin/Testofen will make a very effective stack to compliment your PRIME. But if you can manage to get some Trans-Resveratrol, that would top the whole thing off nicely! :thumbsup:

I have some but like I said that is part of my bridge, I wanted to run something different. I can't remember if I should be cycling the Trans-Res. if not maybe I'll just keep running it. Hey I just remember I got the 120 bottles and only need 60 for the bridge. So 2 bottles of 120 gives me an exta bottle. I could just run it right through. Thanks you've given me some direction.

Thank You DW!! You gave me the idea to break out my Formestane/Trione Transdermal combo! I used 100 mg. of the Form and 200 mg. of the Trione last night. Then I used another dose the same size this morning. I'm ready to kill some weights!! I can literally "feel" the DHT rising!! I love the way we all help each other out around here. Yah that's the good thing as it's less agressive and there are few pissin contests it makes for an better atmosphere to share honest feedback. Glad I could be of assistance... yah form is magic for guys our age.

New routine, chest and back.

Dumbell incline press slow reps 7,7,7,11,15 super set pushups on the last 2 sets. You don't have to use a lot of weight for this let my tell you I started out with the 70's and by the third set was barely getting it done. Having complete control of the weight is good for my shoulder. Best chest workout in a while I finished off with 4 sets of decline flies ss pushups on the last 2 sets again.

Tbar rows I love these 7,7.7.11,15 I set the bar pretty high with 4 plates plus a 35 was a little tough so I dropped to by 10 lbs and did the other 2 sets then dropped 15 for the 11 and 20 more for the 15. I will really push this next week 5 plates or bust...

Narrow pulldowns 4 sets of 7 210 lbs. Perfect form nice workout. The baseline has been set I will have a fun time trying to improve the baseline is pretty high.

I have to mention recomp is getting pretty exciting some major body renovation happening here. I have never had this kind of success at gaining size and getting leaner. Increased vascularity etc...

Shoulders and arms tommorow night can't wait...

Yah the point is though that it takes very frikkin little to get a pump on this stuff. I mean I always feel kind of pumped but it's so easy to add to that. It may be a bit of a let down when I come off of this stuff.
 
New Workout part deux...

Shoulders Yah I was doing machine shoulder press... before you call me a pussie remember the shoulder injury... The machine is much safer. I was doing 150 lbs, there was pain but it was manageable did 7,7,7,11,15. Then reverse machine flies or reverse pec dec flies (whatever you want to call them). This really helps me strengthen right at the point of injury I was pleasanly suprised as I was able to work my way up to 180 by the third set and finished the 4th at the same weight.

On to arms, I decided to try that machine for tricep pressdowns don't know what it's called but I have to say for a machine it was very effective. It did hurt my shoulder a bit but I worked around it. 7,7,7, 11, 15, I was able to work myself up to 195 lbs.

On to one of my favourite lifts... Olympic curls. I find my joints were very sore during my warmup (go figure) but pain does not slow me down that much and once you get them warmed up it is manageable. I did 3 sets of 7 at 135 and then 120 for 11 105 for 15. My form was impeccable, full range of motion no limbo. I have to admit is was tough which surprised me a little but this is the weight I would start off at if I was doing 5's so I am doing a couple extra reps per set. I have to tell you all the lifts seem pretty high effort wise if I can remain progressive through the remaining 3 weeks then Prime will have surpassed my expectations because I have already been on it over 5 weeks and my strenght has to peak sometime. It's going to be interesting... Stay tuned.

Oh I weighed in at 237.4 this morning... I have given up on trying to make sense of this, I fully expected to be up cuz I am looking and feeling much bigger and leaner. I tell you I am right on the cusp of complete metamorphisis here. Recomp rocks for endo's I mean I can put on mass better than most people and still lose fat with the right herbals but with Prime it's a whole new level.

I am already looking forward to my next Prime run... it's going to be high octane. I am thinking 9 a day for 6-7 weeks with Reservatrol, Testofen and Icariin while still pulsing my EForm. It's going to be more of an all out war... with 3 weeks of bodybuilding type moves followed by 3-4 weeks of power. Hope my shoulder is good by then. It's feeling pretty good today and I feel it is stengthened somewhat after last nights workout. Anywho tommorow is legs I am going to be doing some smith front squats... haven't done a lot of front squats so should be just what the doctor ordered.

I appreciate the cookie recipe you posted in my log this morning. You said we should share ideas to make healthy snacks. Here's my personal favorite: Thundergod's Power Balls Recipe: 10 oz. of peanut butter, 2 cups of skim milk, 4 tablespoons of honey, 10 scoops of Whey Protein (avg. 25 grams of protein per scoop), 2 cups of your favorite cereal ( I like Post Honey Bunches of Oats with Strawberries or Kashi Raisin Bran), and then 2 or more cups of coarse dry oats. Mix together the peanut butter, milk, and honey in a large mixing bowl until it is smooth and creamy and runny. Pour in your whey protein and stir. If the mixture is too thick add more milk. You want it somewhat thin and runny at this point before adding in your dry ingredients. Add in your cereal and stir. Then lastly add in your oats. You may need more than 2 cups if it is still thin looking. You want it thick and chunky! And you won't be able to mix this stuff up with a spoon either. It's too thick. You're gonna have to roll up your sleeves and get your hands into it!! Knead it all around until it's mixed together good. Roll into small balls and place on a large serving tray. Keep refrigerated. If the balls are tacky and don't want to let go of your fingers as you're rolling them, use some wheat flour or better yet, some powdered sugar like I do! Damn they're good!!

Legs...

Well I started with the front squats and my technique will definitely need some work but my legs received a much needed pounding... it was the right move. I can barely walk. I didn't even get up to 2 plates a side and wow what a workout.

Stiff legged deads were awsome I worked my way up to 245 for 7 reps. My technique was very good and I can really feel it in the hams.

Calves were ok, I only really have a problem with the left calf. I try to put most of the stress on the left side or just do single calf raise.

I finished out with some killer core work...

I continue to feel rock hard and am very very sore...I also have some nice bruises on my shoulders from the front squats. I am hoping this will be less of a problem when my technique improves and I'm more steady.
 
Chest and Back week 2 of new routine

Well I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised as I was able to make increases right across the board. I made only 5 lb increases on chest and I have to be cautious but I felt stronger than I did the previous week at the lower weight.

Back was great Tbar rows I was up 20 lbs it might have been a bit jerky but no more so than the previous week. On Narrow pulldown I was able to maintain a 15 lb increase through the first 2 sets.

This is much better than I expected, I was feeling pretty run down the last couple days so I was surprised how Prime continues to deliver into the 7th week. I was expecting it to drop off a bit but it has not. If I can last I guess Prime will keep on delivering.

I continue to see increased definition with minimal to no weight loss. Yah a recomp dream, and I can really see size difference too. I estimate by the end of the 9 week cycle I would have lost close to 3% body fat and bit either the same weight I started or very close to it. From 14 to 11 % body fat is not easy for me to do being an endo so I am very pleased.

I am amazed when I see monsters like Ronnie Coleman front squatting in excess of 600 lbs for reps!! That takes some uber-strong quadriceps muscles! And mind power!!

Another thing I have to say is that I have no desire to look anything like a Pro bodybuilder. I think a lean 220 would be what I am aiming for and I already have the mass for that. Leaner harder and stronger would be nice. I aspire for the greek god look as apposed to the comic book one... lol Norse God for you TG... lol

But you ARE a real bodybuilder DW. I'm the arm-chair athlete around here! I have never competed before. And will never. This is only a hobby for me. I'm very zealous about it, but still, just a hobby.

Not anymore I'm not lol it's a hobby for me to now. It's much more fun this way... The only difference between you and I is that I have dieted down and got on stage. Oh and your much stronger ...:thumbsup:

Yah you have the same intensity I did 5 years ago, I mean identical. Now I have to temper it a bit more with wisdom as my body won't take the smashing anymore. That is why I have shortened my rountines and become more of a technician sacrificing poundage for the quest for perfect form. I am still very intense but I can't let go like I used to. That's how I hurt my shoulder.

Yah I will be off for 5 or 6 weeks then back on... then I'll have to buy more!! I have enough for a 6 to 8 week run depending on dosing... This new surge has got me thinking a long run is still an option. I want to try out a higher dose too so I am undecided.
 
Shoulders and arms...

Started off really well I was able to make the 15 lb increase on the second set of shoulder press, I had to lower the seat to prevent my shoulder from being in an awkward positon. Damn I hate machines but can't risk injury.

Peck deck rear delt flies 15 lb increase missed the last rep on the 4th set. I am not surprised as this was going very well last week. I am glad I am able to put this kind of stress at the point of injury.

Tricep machine pressdown up 15 my shoulder hurt at first but it got better as I went on. Not shocking again as I am new to this exercise.

Now to the real test I went up 10 lbs on Olympic curls to 145 this is a weight that I could not do 5 reps on a couple months ago and I was trying 7 reps I did not make it on the first set got 6. I repeated that on the second and 4 on the third. I finished off doing 120 for 11. I was a bit disappointed but this is only week 2 and 150 for 5 is my PR so I am close. I have 2 weeks to make a run will try again next week.

I seem to have gained quite a bit of size and weighed in at 238 which is a little lighter than last week I believe. I know I've lost a lot of fat but man I got bigger too. Getting bigger was not my intention but my appetite was enhanced so I did bulk some no doubt. Bigger and leaner what am I complaining about lol.

It's not easy to progress when your 50, especially when your injured. I am very pleased.
 
Legs week 2

I was quite pleased with my progress... the first week with front squats I ran into a few snags with technique therefore had to keep it on the light side. This week it was much improved (not perfect), I went up 20 lbs on the first set and then another 20 on the second set and kept 245 for the third set of 7. I will move this up another 20 lbs and see how it feels next week. I have almost got this exercise down now.

Stiff legged deads - I went up 20 lbs and finished all 4 sets. I really got a good workout out of this, could feel it from my glutes on down, so I know my form was spot on.

I finished off with standing calves 20 lbs higher than the previous week.

Then a killer ab routine which contained my first successful Wheel of Death reps...I only did a set of 5 but it's a start.

Still feeling great, shoulder seems to be getting a bit better and I am looking much bigger and leaner every week. I am still planning my mega run in February I am looking to stack 2 out of the following with 9 prime a day, Testofen, Incariin, Turabolin or the Saponis bulk USP is releasing. Haven't decided yet.

I went up 5 lbs a side in incline db press, my shoulder had been holding be back to smaller increments but the dumbells go from 75 to 80's so... whata yah gonna do. Incidently I know this is not heavy (I am still injured) but it's good progress. My shoulder was feeling pretty good and the reps went smoothly.

I then went and did decline flies and increased the weight from 55's to 60's and for the first time since my injury I could do full range of motion without a popping in my shoulder. I got to tell you it was very nice to feel my shoulder holding the weight. Heavy weight is still likely a couple mounths away but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I was reading Volcoms back routine and those awsome numbers of his were running through my head when I decided to go for broke on Tbar rows. I loaded up 5 plates and 10 lbs and tore it apart. I felt food and this is likely a PR but I am not sure as I don't keep track of this particular lifts I did 7 reps twice then 11 at 30 lbs less dropped another 30 and did 15.

My Narrow pulldowns did not improve from last week but it was still very respectable.

This is the best chest and back day I have had in a while.

I really am getting bigger my wife commented on it last night by stating this is the biggest she's ever seen me. That's what I had been thinking but it's hard to tell when your looking at yourself.
 
Awesome report DW!! I'll bet our wives think we are totally crazy for training so hard at our "advanced" age. ha ha I'm training harder now than ever before. I'm more serious about it now also. I'm obsessing here lately!! :twisted:

Yah I think my wife's past that to the rolling eyes laughing it off stage by now. She knows she'll never understand and is content with that. She really is a great support though, has my shake and bag ready when I come home to get ready for the gym. Treats me like a king... not that I deserve it. Lets just say I know how to keep her happy...
 
Well I got my Jacked from USP and will give it a test drive tonight. I am very senstitive to stims so I will start with one scoop at 2pm even though I don't work out till 5pm. I just won't let anything get in the way of my sleep. I have the powerfull samples and a bottle and a half of REM from days gone by.

I have to state that I have never used a preworkout drink or stimulation of any kind to enhance performance, I have always looked at it as unecessary. Being kind of nuts to begin with I just didn't think I needed it. When I saw the price though and coupled with the fact I really won't need to use much I thought maybe I'll try to see what I am missing.

I am curious to see what will happen when on prime with this stuff. Anywho to War!!
