No problem, Bolo van Sam I Am. Always entertaining in here.
Personally, I'm thinking another 2 days of rest would be enormously beneficial bro..

I agree. Why not just make it the full seven days, bro? Not only will you be BEGGING to hit the weights again, I think your body will thank you. That's a long time you have gone without rest.
Oh no you didn't!! Tell me you just didn't say that!! :afro:No problem, Bolo van Sam I Am.

I missed what first sparked this rest period. What happened?
Soldier, you are to remain grounded, I repeat, confine yourself to quarters on the double!
I think you should give it a bit more rest bro. Honestly, I think a week off would be appropriate for you, but at least 5 days is in order imo..
:toofunny: :toofunny:
HAHA, I had to digg this one up Snag, hilarious ! Rest is such a necessary evil Invalid Link Removed
Good to hear you are getting back to your old self Sam but I also agree with Snag and IC, few days rest for common mortals, a week for cyborg-Sam![]()
If you want to play hard you got to rest even harder, otherwise the old saying '" what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" turns to: "what doesn't kill you now, will eventually..."

Jean Claude van.. Damn, what happened to that dude?? Agreed Viking, he was the man 15-20 yrs. ago. It sucks that ppl feel the need to construct false backgrounds tho..
Nagging aches & pains. Lumbar issues. Pec distress. CNS beatdown..
Your basic Volcom madness. :bruce1:
Good to make sure your functioning a 100% before getting back bro. Take your time, we'll all be here for your return!
Ong Bak and the Protector are some of my all time favs!!
Damn, V, sorry to hear you've still got that pec strain . . it seems to have really stuck with you ! Perhaps it was a little worse than initially assumed ?
Lookin' forward to seeing you back in action; until then, keep entertaining us with random YouTube clips ! Lol
Thanks Renegade. Today is my last rest day bar none. It will be an official 7 day break total. I haven't had a 7 day break in years, literally years.
First day back! However, it's hard to have a "triumphant" return on a gimp muscle group, but I did my best.
I kept it simple today, basic 3 set pyramids. I can't perform any incline presses at the moment. Incline motions DIRECTLY aggravates my left pec. The strain is really high up on my pec.
Everything felt heavy today, but not because I was weak, it seems like my mind had forgotten how heavy everything was, so the initial lift offs were the most eye opening.
It also felt great to take a larger dose of White Flood in one setting again. My energy and focus was great and I was sweating like crazy.
I'm pretty sure that I'll be relegated to flat and decline movements for a little while, but that's fine with me, it far outweighs NOTHING!
You mention that the strain/pain is high up on your left pectoralis major. Is it over close to the anterior deltoid tie-in? Or more towards the middle of your upper pec region? Be very careful if it's near the delt tie-in. That's where my right one popped. You don't want the permanent dent that I have marring my otherwise beautiful physique!I kept it simple today, basic 3 set pyramids. I can't perform any incline presses at the moment. so a funny event has sparked a serious question:
just got back from doing deads, part of westside for skinny bastards. i hit 365 x 3 (**** yeah!). however, i puked mid set again! i laughed after, of course.
however, it got me thinking. am i doing something wrong that is making me do this? second time in a row doing it. first with 315 x 8, and now with 365 x 3. maybe breathing is off? im not sure. or maybe im just a sick mother fukker haha.
sam if you know, or if anyone has experienced this, im all ears.
either way, im going to start bringing the trash can to my deadlifting territory.
Deads do that sometimes. I seem to get the puke feeling alot with heavy ass deads. Don't worry about it.so a funny event has sparked a serious question:

Dude, I don't know if it's cus I'm high, but I couldn't finish that clip right there . . unbearable to watch !
Good to see ya back in the gym, V!
well if its highly anabolic, im going to start spewing on the ground in front of me midset. i want EVERYONE to know im building me some meat! haha. good to know that puke is a GOOD sign. thanks for the info sam.Damn, your making consistent progress on your deads! That's fricken awesome!
There's actually a term for that upchuckery response. It's a natural response from something highly, highly anabolic. The windgate test, which assesses lower body power, is a ONE MINUTE test, but because it's so anabolic, the "natural" response is to throw up. I've never thrown up from working out, but I almost threw up on the windgate test. Throwing up while your performing 15 rep curls would be hella off and partly gay, but for heavy, near maximal deads, that just means you gave it some legitimate effort.
If it makes you feel any better, sometimes I go temporarily def and extremely dizzy from heavy deads.
I deeply sympathise with you Volcom. The only way for me to have any longer than 3-days off is to suffer an incapacitating accident. In the last 4 years:
1. Bike crash&knee surgery, I was out of real action for 4 weeks :aargh: :aargh:
2. Slipped disc&sciatica: umm, no I wasn't REALLY out of action, I still rode my bike 2-3hrs every 2nd day because being on the bike was actually the only position where I felt no pain.
3. Invalid Link RemovedInvalid Link Removed: bedridden for four days, couldn't take any liquids or food during that time,
day 6 (2nd day of recovery) I was back in the gym deadlifting Invalid Link Removed
First, Invalid Link Removed for making it through 7 FULL DAYS OF REST :box:
It is always hard after a long time off but the body bounces back quickly once it has been reminded what it is supposed to do![]()

Good workout man, i've been waiting for another poundage update
