Quest for Success vol#2 - Pumpin to the Ahhhnold

Note : I am totally beat and my only day off this week is tomorrow, so I am going to head to bed and update in the morning right before I work out. Thinking of doing a fat burning workout tomorrow so it should be a fun workout :)

i'm not sure if she used them or not yet. Sammy sure does love the FidOmega though, haha
I decided somewhere in my retarded mind that I wanted a puppy! So I have the dogs that live outside the supersized monsters. Well of course If you have a massive dog then you want a tiny dog..yes!

Well I got a chihuahua pup..OMG the worst monster I've had. More energy than an energizer bunny, tiny needle sharp teeth that only want to bite me. She growls savagely as she launches herself through the air to sink teeth in. She goes to the bathroom daily in her crate and doe not want to be cold so she fights going outside..sigh! Shoot me now!

Oh man that sounds awful!

Sammy still has a minor issue with the teeth...but it's not that bad. He's good with kids so thats a plus. However, he plays with some other animals...and others he tries to beat up.

There is a dog down the block thats the size of a small bear...Sammy lunged at him and bit his neck last time he was near the house...haha.

Well on a good note, she is cute:) She is a goofy tri color with a merle head and one blue eye. She is going to be on the larger size of chi, maybe 6lbs? She is great with my kids and loves the cats, however they don't feel the same!

One of them plays with her , the others pull out the claws..lol!

I'm hoping as puppydom ends she will mature into a decent dog.

For your sake, I hope so too!

I think Sammy will be okay...he just gets so damn fired up over anything..lol. When I get over to her place he won't leave me alone for like 2 hours, haha

11/9/08 - Day 35

Overview : Finally a REAL day of recooperation!!! Work was slow so I got to relax my muscles a bit there, and I took the day off from working out to relax there. I feel good...and my next workout will be a lot of fun!!

^^^ What a show of athleticism last night. As the Giants went on to beat the Eagles (which is a big deal to me being a Giants fan living in Pennsylvania), Kevin Boss had a hurdle leap over someone who was standing almost straight up. His vertical on the leap must have been over 6 feet high. Thats a tight end.

*** just a quick note :
The Gut Health really kicked in today. I don't want to go into details because that is naturally disgusting....but wow....awesome addition.

Gut Health is awesome! I enjoy(ed) it. I use it in frequent intervals. Ziquor found it great, too! Something else: How much Phosphatidylserine (active) do you get from the two capsules/tablets you consume daily?

1100mg from 2 pills. I take 1 pre w/o and 1 post w/o. If it's an off day I usually take 1 upon waking and 1 mid day.

Wow! That's 550mg per tablet! Is that 100% PS? If yes, then it must be best-in-class!

^^^Here is my OFFICIAL before picture for Virile Mane. I took a few others that were posted below but this is an actual perfect overhead shot. You can see that I am receding at the "peaks", thinning everywhere, and right in the "crown" area I am getting the normal pattern balding patch.
its not receding.

keep things positive - think of it as a strategic retreat!

There is a few "other ingredients"...but the dosing per pill is exactly phosphatidylserine 550mg.

It is quite a product...its the only thing I still order from that company.

11/10/08 - Day 36

Overview : Today was a good day! It was my day off from work so I woke up in a good mood (I don't have another day off until sunday because they changed my days off *again*) and stayed in a good mood. Had fun today all day basically. Played some wii with my girlfriend and her brother...and just kinda hung out most of the day.

The workout I am posting below was completed in just about 35 minutes. It was...AWESOME! I was doing a set of KB swings before each seperate exercise and supersetting them all with 30 seconds rest in between the end of one superset and the start of another. I was sweating like mad and my muscles were hating me something fierce ;)

^^^This is our puppy Sammy. He almost got a kick to the head today when my girlfriend's daughter went potty (which she is still getting used to) and when she got up for me to wipe her, Sammy decided to come over and make Pottytime into Lunchtime. Yuck.

*** just a quick note :
Today was very light on supplements in general. Maybe because I wasn't at work at all so I wasn't thinking much of it...but I barely took anything at all. Definitely a change of pace for me. Workout was awesome though...and i'm hoping for another tomorrow morning!

Dogs are crazy, they'll eat anything and then proceed to lick your face. Sammy looks like a good dog though.

11/11/08 - Day 37

Overview : Okay...I don't know what's up, but my appetite was non-existant today. Maybe because I hadn't used Hardcore Shred Xs in a few days and then jumped on again today...or maybe because I felt like I may be getting sick today..but it was something. I was far under cals. It was an off day though so i'm not stressing TOO hard. Only reason it was an off day was because my AFL hopeful cancelled on me. I hope he gets his head in gear soon...i'm worried he will slack too hard and not be ready for the tryouts. I told him i'd give him the tools but he has to provide the motivation. Let's see if he can keep up with me.

*** just a quick note :
Contemplating a re-dosing of Virile Mane but am not totally sure yet. Talking over options with Matt from RPN so I will let you all know if it changes at all. Going to be ordering the shampoo soon as well!

Im sure you have heard this before but you can think of it this way...
you aren't losing your hair you are just getting more head.

haha yeah I suppose that's true. I am definitely losing my hair though....and I would look absolutely terrible as a bald guy so I have very high hopes for the Virile Mane. Let's see if it pulls through :)

Well Matt is really losing his hair, more so than you even;) He is totally receding and has the spot in the back and sides gone. He has used it 2 weeks now I think with the shampoo and he is getting new growth. So never fear I won't let you go bald!

I apparently missed this thread. However, better late than never and I caught up.

I like your logs.

More than me?! Thats intense!!

Let's keep in mind that i'm 25 years old :(

I am not showing signs of fear....I feel like it will work. I DO need to go get some shampoo though ;)

11/12/08 - Day 38

Overview :Once again I had a fantastic "quickie" workout. My whole workout was completed in about 25 minutes and it felt great. My rest time was not large at all...and my lifts felt good. Used a lot of force from my legs today to drive the KB's up. I also had a "semi-cheat" meal today *pic below* and still managed to stay right around the cals I wanted to hit. I was however a little higher than planned on carbs...but overall i'm happy with the day! Tomorrow the girlfriend and I are going to my bank to see if they'll approve us for a home loan so there won't be a workout more than likely.

^^^ My buddy Jimmy got bored and made a hot sauce for me to try. He often does that because he knows I love spicy and he tries to get me all amped up. This sauce was a winner. He threw it in a wrap with jalapenos, mushrooms, onions, and cheesesteak meat. I couldn't turn it down It made the most of my list of awful items ingested for the month, haha...but it was tasty!

*** just a quick note :
I could tell that I was eating poorly tonight. The numbers don't show it, but I feel it. I have become very in tune with my body and can just feel when i'm taking in things that I should not be having. That will be changing now. This log is for sheer results...and i'll have nothing but results (and maybe some banter:lol:)

What's up CT? Your meals always look so freakin awesome.... I gotta say that I'm quite jealous. When I look down at my chicken breast and brocolli I die a little on the inside :D

BTW, I was going to mention that earlier about your carbs but I got busy and forgot to post it. Just by guessing I'm thinking that you may be slightly more carb sensitive than most (I'm the same way). Because of this I prefer to keep my carbs around 100-150g per day, 2/3 of which are part of my morning meal, the last 1/3 is in my first meal post workout. I would like to see your ratio to be something more like protein 45%, Carbs 35%, Fats 20%. Calories between 2200 and 2500. Since you want results I would reduce these by about 100 calories every few weeks leading up to "showtime" but definitely do not drop below 1700-1800.

I'm at work right now so I don't have the time to go into more detail but if you want I can definitely find the time to get much more detailed.

Thanks about the meals :). You're definitely right about the carb sensitivity. I am sure thats what I need to do...and those numbers that you posted seem like what I need to be around for sure. I'd love to talk about it in more detail!

Sounds good, I'll get on it. I have a number of "cut" diets that are geared towards BB competitors but are easily modified for anyone wanting results!

That's crappy news about Spaceclown....

Great advice! Very helpful. I tend to fall into the carb-sensitive category as well; however, P-Slin is helping me with that right now. I've been taking in 120g pre-wo in my shake, and about another 100g post-wo. 400mg P-Slin with each and it's treating me VERY well. Beyond that, I have about another ~80g in the day.

Deuce, that wrap looks DANK!

I vote for recipes and instructions. Lol

Sorry guys...it was not my creation, so I am not at liberty to give it away.

I will however make a meal for this log by the end. For my last log for Blue Gene I created "Controlled Crab" hahah...so this one will be MST geared because...well you know...i'm awesome

11/13/08 - Day 39

Overview :Today began my first day of my reduction of carbohydrates. I gotta tell ya...I actually feel better tonight. I'm missing a bloated kind of feeling that i've had for a week or two now...i'm wondering if that was it? Either way, my numbers are MUCH closer to where they should be now...so i'm happy with that so far.

Today was kind of a mess all around...but ended well. The highlight of the day was probably playing a word association game at work to pass some time right at the end. I wasn't actually playing...but I kept spitting out answers low enough that one of my buddies could hear, haha. It was funny. The low moment of the day was probably the 12 more 90 day reviews and 1 more annual review I had to do today on top of the 14 or so I did yesterday. Blah to paperwork!!

^^^ Here is my lunch/dinner type meal today. It is bringing the variation to lower carb for me. I had some carrots which have some carbs, and the yogurt used to make the Chicken Waldorff has some carbs. There is a VERY minor amount in the stock on the meat...and there you have it. Absolutely delicious dinner!

*** just a quick note :
I'm on track...and I plan to stay there. Aside from the "Rewards" meals i'm allowing myself around times like Thanksgiving, My Birthday, Christmas, etc...I will be on point from here on out. This means a lot to me...and i'm glad I remembered that.

agreed. im actually a fan of 40/40/20 p/f/c.

CKD was also a huge success for me. and its a lot easier than some might think. 5 weeks, and i probably dropped 1 whole percent in BF. it was awesome.

Note : I had planned to do a fat burning style routine this morning but due to some recent circumstances...getting a home has become a very big priority right now so I ended up using the morning before work to look for homes and the best rates on mortgages. I will move the workout until either tonight when I get home from work, or tomorrow morning.

11/14/08 - Day 40

Overview :Well originally I told myself I wasn't going to get my workout in because I had to look for homes to move into/mortgage rates/FHA stuff/etc. Well....when I got home from work I wasn't quite exhausted yet so I blasted out a 40 minute workout :) Felt really good...and i'm happy I did :)

Work was crappy as usual...but I made good use of my time and elements. Numbers for nutrition are good today. I'm getting the hang of my reduced carbs much easier than I thought I would.

^^^ Here's to the KB Snatch...not much more to say about that ;)

Okay...maybe you can say something like "damn it deuce...you need to lose some more fat" or something like that!

*** just a quick note :
Phosphatidylserine has really made a change for me as far as recovery goes. It's really amazing how much faster I get back on track than I used to. A rigorous KB workout (like double of what I did today) used to sideline me for a few days for recovery. Lately I feel like I could launch that same workout again the next day. Truly Impressive.

If fiber is too low you could always try adding in some psyllium husk or inulin fiber into your diet between a meal or two. If you haven't tried psyllium before, I'd say mix it in juice/crystal light as opposed to just plain water. The taste of it by itself takes some getting used to.

I'm sure it goes without saying that with 270+g protein you're drinking A LOT of water every day? Don't need kidney stones at 25.

That's right, I can bust your chops too. :whip:
