Anyone feeling shut down from Prime?

with or without supps, discipline is the key, give yourself a certain amount of gym time and stick to it.

Eat well and make sure you get adequate rest.

I have been following all the logs, and as some of you know I watched my son do 1 month of Prime with some pretty spectacular results.

There is a caveat however, my son and many others experience a significant amount of fatigue, and strain which I have attributed to overtraining. Two things to watch out for are increased volume or frequency of exercise and increased intensity. Now some increase in these fields will probably be manageable but with the strength and endurance increases experienced when on prime it seems very difficult to not overdo it.

There has been a log or two where less burn out was experienced when a plan was used, and adhered to. So as long as you gradually increase your intensity without going overboard you should be good for a long run. The trick is to make a plan and stick to it despite the urges you get to do more. Most of us know how much we can take before fatigue sets in and how much stress we can add. I plan on slowly increasing the amount I lift, without significantly increasing volume so I can last without burn out.

I can attest to what you said. As you may have seen from some of my prime threads, I always have to be mindfull of not over doing it. I will take your advice and set a plan and stick to it. Maybe even get a small alarm clock to help keep me on track.

I kid. :)

But consider this: there are compounds in soya bean that mimic the effects of estrogen. So there could be plant compounds out that mimic testosterone as well. If you guys have hit the Holy Grail and actually found a 'natural testosterone' compound, continuously taking it could lead to the body decreasing its own test production (from some feedback loop mechanism). I have ordered a bottle of Prime, but I have not been using it regularly. For a while, just 1 pill would make me go crazy with energy. It makes me feel 'stimmed', but not in the 'over-caffeinated' sort of way. I am have a really sensitive nervous system.

I can see how a person would overtrain while on Prime. I think I did read somewhere that overtraining can result in a decrease in testosterone, too.

what was the JW incident? Why would it get you banned? Maybe I am clueless?

That would be true if LH and FSH were decreased as well because that's what happens when your own testosterone stops. Your hypothalamus signals your pituitary gland via GnRH(Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone) to secrete LH(Luteinizing Hormone) and FSH(Follicle Stimulating Hormone). When you are in negative feedback, your hypothalamus releases less or even no GnRH and so you don't produce LH and FSH. This is what happens with steroids.

Since LH was tested on beta testers of Prime and from the tests it was not affected in any significant measurable way, I would say the likelihood of being shut down due to the negative feedback mechanism is low.

Some of the stuff being said about this product sounds absolutely ridiculous. The positive and the negative. All the haters are making me want to try this even more to see for myself, and all the people that love it are making me want to go to GNC right now and over pay for it just so I can start it sooner. But I think the haters have sold me on running Prime. And Im not much of a supplement kind of guy.

were not haters were just speaking the truth

Essay,

Man, I have to say I am feeling the same exact thing. Check my log. The strange thing is this though, I wake up with major wood. I mean if one is starting to shut down they would start to see a reduction in that area also but I'm not, just a lack of interest for snatch, but I sure have made some stupid gains. I mean rediculous really for a guy who has been lifting since the early 90s.

Yea thats about right...good power and gains feel awsome in gym, morning wood...but you couldn't throw a piece on me, maybe I should run with Diesel Test I don't know? For now I taking a break from Prime to re-group.:dl:

Thats exactly the way I feel! I usually think about rubbing one out oh, 40-50 times per day normally and couldn't list how many times I think of pussy(no offense to any women that may be reading, just being honest here), but neither has even crossed my mind over the past week or so and this is just the end of my first bottle. I'm usually plagued with the want to look at porn too but that hasn't even been a thought either.

and now that we are on the subject I believe I may have even lost a little in my berries. And no this ain't from overtraining or undereating carbs or any of that stuff.

In respects to both your concerns, let me share a known element of PRIME: It does not cause endogenous suppression of Testosterone by either primary or secondary means.

Now, this is not to devalue any opinion expressed within this thread - as they may be anecdotally valid - but merely to state other factors may be at play. For example, Fabulous One, I have seen you comment in other threads about the sheer increase in the both total weight and volume of your regiment since beginning PRIME; such increases in both Volume and Intensity do not come 'free of charge', so to speak: While the the skeletal-muscle system can handle constant adaptation, the Central Nervous System cannot. Overtraining can easily produce incremental increases in Cortisol, thereby affecting the Testosterone:Estradiol ratio - indirectly decreasing TT serum levels.

I would venture a guess that both of you have increased weight and/or volume since beginning PRIME, and have most likely not increased rest time and/or calories; not even steroids can repair the CNS.

Ok you are probably on to something but what can be done to correct this because if I train lighter and less I loose my benifits of Prime right? If I increase calories will this fix I'm cool with bulking it's what I do best it's low calorie/carb B.S. that screws everything up.

PRIME keeps you in the gym so you have to be aware and almost force yourself to go home. The CNS cannot keep up with the muscular endurance.

I should develope a CNS cocktail specific for PRIME.

I would be extremely interested in this- for use even w/o Prime.

No, one just needs to be intuitive with their body: If you feel rundown, you are overtraining, and subsequently need a few days rest!

Mullet, I shot you an email and a PM if you can get a chance to check it sometime soon and let me know whats up. Thanks again, Larry.

Mullet,

You may be spot on the money, but like Essay what I am feeling is real. I'll be looking at all aspects over the next month. the gains are very much worth what I am experiencing for sure.

And nobody is questioning the reality of your symptoms; not at all! I am merely saying it is highly unlikely they are being caused directly by PRIME.

As I said, vastly increasing volume and/or total weight can induce prominent Cortisol release; thereby affecting Test:Estradiol ratio, and with it sex drive, motivation and so on.

Yeah man my squat numbers have increased around 40lbs or so for my work sets and my pressing exercises have both jumped around 20lbs for working sets.

Don't let what I am saying deter anyone from trying Prime, because in my eyes I think its the bomb for sure. Its just sort of like I'd rather lift than screw right now!

I don't think its shutdown though as I got good wood, I just want to save my semen hahaha!

Well, as I stated, if you have increased intensity that much without a) lowering volume; b) lowering frequency or; c) increasing calories, than you are setting yourself up for overtraining! I guarantee a few days rest and/or an increase in calories will be a proper remedy.

Think of it as follows:

Let us say that your 40lb Squat increase is 10% total weight; in order to remain in caloric balance, you would have to either; a) increase calories by the adjacent number, or lower volume 10% (this is NOT at all how the body ACTUALLY works, but merely using this as an example). Without doing either, you have increased your body's necessity for energy by 10% and done nothing to remedy it. It is like fuel in your car - you supercharge your vehicle, and it will need more fuel; increase the demands and keep the fuel the same, you will run out of gas.

EDIT: And, in this case, 'running out of gas' necessitates further fuel vis-a-vis catabolism - i.e., Cortisol release; this in-itself could be the primary cause for any lack of sex drive.

Ok, fair enough, then the people that took it and didnt notice anything make me want to try it for myself. :)

I was only kidding; that particular individual has never actually used the product. Suffice to say, it is strange how he is so affirmed in his position!

None use of product + Critisism = Hater :hammer:

It's not rocket science lol
