Looking for a good 45ACP. Strong and durable. which should i go with, HK or Glock???
neither...get a sig
Exactly what I was gonna say.
I have a Sig P226 9mm that I'm trying to sell, I'm getting a Sig P220 .45ACP
Sigs are the best handguns in the world, never been one recall, I know Glock can't say that, don't know about HK though.
Black Talons are a waste unless you expect swat to break in your house.
p220 .45 all the way...black talons too! i dare someone to break into my house!

Honestly if someone comes in my house, I'd like to wait behind my blind spots and stab them from the lower back to the heart.
Although I do "clear" my house every time I leave and come back....I have a lot of enemies....![]()
I'm not an ammo expert but last I looked at BT's I thought their danger was in being frangable.
Most SWAT will have level 3 or 4
The negative media frenzy of late 1993 produced untrue assertions that Black Talon was an armor-piercing "cop-killer" bullet. We've fired both 9mm and .40 S&W Black Talon bullets into threat level IIA soft body armor and the armor easily stopped the bullets. The "armor-piercing" myth may have originated from the markings used on certain military small-arms ammunition. U.S. military cartridges with a black painted tip indicates the bullet is armor-piercing.
(Federal Nyclad ammunition is often mistaken as armor-piercing ammunition too, due to the blue-black nylon coating on the lead bullet.)
The black Lubalox coating on the Black Talon bullet is meant to reduce in-bore friction and chamber pressure. Once the bullet leaves the muzzle, the mission of the coating is completed. Lubalox does not give the bullet any special property that allows it to blast through police soft body armor.
Recently, the newer Winchester 9mm 127 grain +P+ Ranger SXT bullet (product number RA9SXTP) has been found to penetrate some lower threat level soft body armor. Second Chance Body Armor Company recalled one of its vests in response to officer safety concerns posed by this particular bullet.
Id rather be shot than stabbed any day.
:clap2: getting your hands dirty is much more noble IMO!:woohoo:
The smaller shrapnel would be pretty lethal in soft tissue though. Don't feel like looking it up but does the deep tissue damage become more lethal over a a ball or hollow-point type of ammunition? Only if you know because I don't expect you to look it up because i'm too lazy lol.
In my experience Ball won't penetrate jack ****. I've shot level 2a through 4a with 9 and 40 ammo and it never made it through. I think in larger caliber it definitely would though.
pretty sure original black talons were considered body armor killers because they had a (black) teflon coating. They were banned because of ridiculous penetration.

had a springfield XD 45 and it would jam all the time. just recently sold it.
I carried a Glock 21 .45ACP through my entire tenure as a street cop and later as an investigator. I have literally shot several thousand rounds of ammo out of the thing, and can count the number of times that it has jammed on one hand (and these malfunctions were due to either shooting practice ammo/reloads, or using a magazine with a weak spring).
The gun is reliable, durable, and accurate. I have nothing but good things to say about my decade of Glock ownership.
I have never owned a HK, but based on my admittedly limited experience with them they seem to be fine guns.
your sooo smart. have my children
no, i am definately considering a sig. its the sig 220 45 acp i want. sucks i gotta wait till christmas though....
Hopefully these holes I've been making in your condoms will do the job, I felt "weird" this morning.
hahaha.... it's possible. This relationship is over if it takes you getting pregnant to keep me around!!!
Why are 99% of cops members of the church of Glock.....:fool2:
I am not a Glock evangelist or anything like that, it just happens to be a gun that I have had a lot of experience with. The OP wanted some opinions, and I am only able to give a valid opinion based on experience with a Glock.
I like HK and I like Sig, but I cant really say anything else about those guns.

True, I just never liked the lighter weight of the Glock, the way it felt in my hands or the safeties on it, the safeties are a major issue.
I carry my 226 with one round in the chamber, it has ZERO safeties except a decocker.
Sprinfield XD
Just got back from the range today.
I voted glock. I had a 22 model and shot straight as an arrow.
I played with my 642 today, havent shot it in a bit.
