Severe Adrenal Fatigue

I have abused caffeine for a year and a half now. Using at the very least, 300 mg's a day. In all forms from Redline Caps, energy drinks, and sometimes straight up caffeine pills from Wal Greens.

It was great until I saw the downward spiral, I was constantly being stressed out by little things that had previously never bothered me. Things that are everyday occurances overwhelmed me. I googled adrenal fatigue after reading about it on here one day, and have every single one of the symptoms.

I have ordered Reset A.D. but I'm making this thread because I want to know if this is ok, I'm substituting horny goat weed and maca root for caffeine. To my knowlegde these are stimulant free in the sense they contain no caffeine, right?

ween yourself off your you'll prob develop some nasty anxiety... had the same thing happen to me last year and even being off stims it took a couple months to get back to normal

I would recommend PLCAR as an alternative for stims. It increases the body and heart's mitochondrial output and is a valid treatment for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Combine this with Reset AD and you will see a world of difference.

reset ad and simply tapering off stims until you no longer use any will remedy your situation. I was a hardcore stim/fat burner/preWO drink addict a few yrs back, stopping sux but its certainly better than a rapid heart rate and elevated blood pressure.

The real trick is finding some...

Pro,

Maca and Rhodiola Rosea are both very protective of the adrenal glands, but usually taken to keep the fatigue from starting.

PLCAR can still be found, but at over three times the cost Nutra use to sell it for a while back.

The Reset and maca should work and you might add ALCAR, although it's not as good as PLCAR.

Surprised no one mentioned plain old creatine monohydrate to keep the OP going in the gym

You guys are hardcore stimmers. I start feeling burned out after about 10 or 12 weeks and it takes me about a 2-3 weeks to start feeling "right" again. I can't imagine going for a year straight.

This stack knocked my Adrenal Fatigue out QUICK:

-Vit C 1-3g a day, in .5g doses evenly spread. (dose depending on personal stomach tolerance)

-B complex; 1 w/ breakfast and 1 w/ dinner

-Reset A.D. - As Directed

-Lugols Solution, or Supplemental Kelp - (for Iodine)

-PLCAR/ALCAR - 1.5 g each morning and late afternoon

- If budget permits other adaptogens such as Ashwaghanda and particularly Rhodiola Rosea.

I am currently trying reset-ad and I believe that it is having an effect. I don't do stims (to sensetive now that I am stim free) but was feeling very lethargic. After reading up on my issues I added reset to my supplementation and things are beginning to level off. I ordered my second bottle so that I can make it a longer trial just in case something else was temporarily boosting me.

Get ready for one hell of a headache. I quit drinking coffee for a few weeks and the lack of caffiene gave me a bad one. But once it is gone you are fine. And Reset AD works very well.

I second all of these choices..particularly the vit C. Do not skimp on it as your adrenals have the highest levels of C in the body.

Ashwaghanda sorta worked for me. I could not find a dose that worked "just right". I recommend Holy Basil and this stuff is great at about any dose.

Sorry man but 300mg caffiene a day is childs play, literally. most children these days can take 300mg in from soda alone. Nevermind adults drinking coffee. When I am "off: caffiene I probably take in 300mg and on high period when cutting may take in a gram with 125mg ephedrine, 9mg yohimbine and other goodies like geranium...

Soda does not have anywhere near 300mg of caffiene. It generally has about 1/5 of what a cup of coffee has. One cup of joe = about 200mg.

Bacopa is a fantastic choice, and helps thyroid output as well.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm on day 4 of zero caffeine and it has been a ride so far. My Reset AD came today in the mail.

300 mg's was my off day dose, on training days I pounded my pre workout to, and on most off days I used way more then 300 mg's. Basically, I used at least 300 mg's a day for well over a year. I feel it has really trashed my adrenals.

I have had some crazy hormonal side effects, I've felt depressed and fatigued so badly. But I decided to stop using caffeine because I started feeling down all the time, and read that poor functioning adrenals can cause this.

Even after sleeping 10 hours, I wake up tired. Hopefully the next couple of days with Reset AD jump start my body back to a well state again.

Maca is great. I've been having it daily as a mid morning shake with some whey and saw palmetto for a year or so now. I don't even include it when mentioning supps anymore.

I don't feel i have adrenal fatigue but i've recently decided to have a rest from the stims and been getting good results using Rhodiola Rosea, Green Tea Extract and L-Tyrosine (500mg of each) as a pre workout stack. I do have 1 cup of coffee though.

I think ACSlayer mentioned B-Complex which i've also recently added.

I'm going to start a HUGE adrenal, thyroid and hpta recovery log soon... It might be interesting to you.

Long story short I messed up every system in my body including adrenals ha.

Talking about vitamin C I went to the doctors yesterday and got hooked to an I.V. of vitamin C drip of 50 grams and 200mg of glutathione all I can say is.. WOW! it was pretty crazy you are in the room with about 10 other poeple all in sitting in recliner chairs reading books and having I.V in our arms. it was freaking nuts...lol Vitamin C is becoming huge in the medical field now or at least I am just noticing it.

Cool. Been curious about that therapy since I read some of Poliquin's articles on it.

Feeling any effects??

Not really sure they said it would make me feel alot better but can't really say I do yet. I went there to do the chelation therapy for the 40% blockage in my left artiery in my neck because of high cholesterol for years and I am only 33 years old. but ended up doing the vitamin C due to the time it takes for the chelation.
