Time for a 3some!!!

The question is "did Palin and McCain know before the VP choice" or did the daughter just drop it on mom and dad due to the nomination....

Palin says her daughter is to keep the child and is to get married. I guess we know who wears the pants in that marriage, which goes to show that she'd be running our country instead of McCain. She looks like a hardcore *****, but her daughter is quite an eyeful.

Given the Republican platform on sex and abortion she really has no choice. Any other response would blow their ticket completely out of the water.

she and mccain both new about it according to his spokesman. I agree with their campaign and the Obama/Biden camp, this should have no bearing. I actually feel bad for this kid. First, having a baby at 17 is rough, now having it plastered all over hte country has got to be horrifiying.

Yes, I'm sure the party platform made the decision for her.

I'm sure they checked with the RNC before making the decisions whether to keep or abort her baby that has down syndrome too.

One thing is for sure.... John Mccain should of have done his homework first. I know there is more to come.

I agree with you, its terribly hard to raise kids and the baby is the one I feel for. As far as the parents suffering for her bad choices, how many of you listened to your parents all the time? You can raise your kids and teach them good morals but in the end its their choice.

For once, I agree with BO - families and especially children should be off limits in the discussion leading up to the election.

A 17 yr old getting pregnant is nothing new, and in many cases has no real reflection on the guidance from the parents. Many preachers kids have fallen in the same boat, as mentioned, its something that the kid decides, or has happen by accident without the parents knowledge. You simply can't hold your kids hand for every second of the day and make sure they always do the right thing. Its a hard lesson to learn, but it happens.

What..........no thread about her husband having a DUI 22 years ago?

Both camps were aware of the pregnancy and the DUI. His DUI 22 yrs ago is no worse than BO 'experimenting' with drugs how many ever years ago that was.....

I think the reason for the scandal is that Palin opposes ANY kind of sex-education, believing that "abstinence-only" is sufficient. Assuming she walks the walk of her talk, it is irrefutable sign that abstinence-only education is a GLARING failure and loses all credibility.

I hope they keep harping on it. This is an issue that will completely backfire on the critics.

Looking at the record of public school sex education in the last 20 years, its not doing any better :)

The failures keep Maury Povich employed :D

IIRC, teen pregnancy RATES have been falling for a long time.

Can't we just hose them all down? Or make a massive bet with teens to be masters of their domain until they turn 18?

IIRC, teen pregnancy RATES have been falling for a long time.

Which doesn't say much as the number of overall pregnancies are down by the same token. Many people, including teens, are simply not having babies by choice compared to 20-40 years ago.

You really have to look at the unplanned pregnancies and the number of "baby daddies" walking around.

Economic factors have much more an influence on these things than any public school education system.

My wife and I aren't having kids because we cant afford them. If we could, we'd have as many as possible.
