Next Cycle H Drol

Yeah, I think using a somewhat lighter weight is much better for vertical than going heavy. Light to moderate weight with higher reps helps the fast twitch muscles which are what's employed in jumping.

I hear you about aging. Even though I'm only 32, life's strangely different than when I was in my early 20's. Even though in my head I've been mentally stuck at 23 for 9 years.

Good to know about the moderate weights, I'll give it a try and see, I'll try a 5-12 set and see if it helps.

Hey Timber, jumping cars is out of the question, unless I'm driving it.

Just wanting to stay competitive, I've been in denial about my age for as long as I can remember. You know how bad us old people's memory is.

Took the weekend off to rest and get some R&R, diet slipped a little, but nothing to get upset about. Felt good this morning on my chest and shoulder routine, still pushing hard. Wanting this to be a great cycle, time is my enemy, so everyday its a battle, never give up, just keep on trying.

Looking forward to my Friday weigh in, it will be 2 weeks, so I'm haveing high hopes for a good number. 5lbs would be a very good start, so until then.

Thanks for the replies guys, its good to know some people are watching the old man, at least you all will keep me fom straying.:pizza:

Thanks Timber for the reps.

I hope these are a good thing, some time when I've developed a rep its not been so good.

LEG DAY

Well decided to try the advice that has been given me.

This was my routine for the day.

Squats ( Heavy for me ) 3 X 10
Calves 3 x 12

Leg Extensions 3 X 8

Step ups 3 X 12

Squats with moderate weight ( Explode up and slow down )
4 x 12

Not a lot of sets, remember I have a bad knee, so don't razz me to much.

I thought my legs were going to fall off, the old quads felt like jello and my calves actually were trying to cramp.

Not sure if this routine will help my vertical, but time will tell.

Tomorrow is my weigh in day, so its time to see how the cycle is going.

Don't expect too much weight initially.. :)

Week 3 really is the magic number, especially if you're eating a lot. Pick your cals up around then.

Day #15

Update for my H-Drol cycle.

Starting weight 172.4
Todays weight 180.1

Daily intake average:
Calories 3000
Protein 280
Carbs 250

Surprised at my weight increase so soon, some of its due to I just came off a 9 week cut, so my body is absorbing nutrients quickly.

No change to mid section so far, so thats a good thing. Just curious if this is mostly water weight, but H-Drol is suppose to be dry, so it shouldn't be. Keeping the diet very clean, arrangeing my meals the night before to avoid the fast food run, so just have to keep my focus.

Today's workout was chest and shoulders.

Strength is still increasing and my recovery is very good. I know this isn't suppose to kick in until week #3, but its working for me now, even if its mental, its still a positive. Muscles feel fuller and have that tight feeling, so if it keep getting better that will be very good.

Increaseing my Vitamin C and Erichinea to help my immune system, want to avoid getting sick during the cycle.

So far no sides that I have noticed, so 2 weeks in and things are looking good so far.

Almost 8 pounds at 50mg in the 1st 2 weeks = AWESOME

i know you're alittle way in here .. but just my two cents and to back up the posts regarding cycle length. I did recently an 8 week cycle of BCL Super Halo... varying doseage up to 100mg for a couple of weeks.

Excellent gains ..no apparent sides ... and was extremely chuffed with what i thought was a hassle free cycle that i could use for a reasonble length of time...

unfortunatley after 3 weeks of PCT i was pissing blood.

NOw this was a short term ( CT scan showed up nothing wrong and liver and kidney blood tests cleared me of any lasting apparent damage) .. but it was worrying enough to make me re-think the label mild methyl.

Certainly for me anyway .... perhaps my constitution is alot weaker than others ... but still ...

For some i believe that you can probably do this in their sleep ... but i wold certainly agree with the 5-6 week advice...

best gains incidently were in PCT...and all gains were sustainable too...

so enjoy fella!!

Thanks Ziquor

Been busting my butt during my lifts.

Diet has been as clean as I can keep it, main goal is to get plenty of protein and minimize my simple carbs. If I do take some in its early in the day or post workout, also just before my volleyball matches.

I was quite surprised with the weight increase, and also how much my strength and recovery are comeing along, I wasn't expecting it until week # 3 and later, so I hope it continues since I'm now at 75 for the next 3 weeks.

I'm definantly feeling tighter all over, only takeing measurements at my belly and watching those scales once a week. Until my next update, take care.

good news :head:

End Week #3

Well today was my weigh in after 3 weeks of hard work and wearing my grill out.
Weight:
Beginning 172.4
Current 182.8
Increase of 10.4 lbs.

Checked waist line today and right at 1/8" -1/4" increase.

Daily intake average
Calories 3200
Protein 234
Carbs 245

Increased carbs a little to see how it afffected energy and weight gain, may drop them a little and see.

So far no sides that I have noticed other than a little acne on my back, but not much. Been on 75mg for 1 week, planning 2 more weeks at 75.

Strength is still holding strong and recovery is very good. getting a little mentally tired during lifts, but I'm pushing very hard during my lifts, not use to the intensity.

Doms kick in from time to time, so I'm increaseing my glutamine and taurine a little to see.

Overall body feels tighter, I'm seeing improvements in my legs and my arm shape is improveing as well as the shoulder area.
Thanks guys for the tips on the legs.

I'm doing heavy squats and then at the end of my legs I go back and do a modified jump squat with moderate weight, it seems to be helping my leg strength in my vertical, which that is my goal.

Very pleased with my weight increase, actually surprised. My target was 10 lbs in 5 weeks and I've reached my target in 3 weeks, so I'm going to continue on.
Diet has been 99% clean with good protein choices and complex carb. Actually this is the best I have ever done with my diet, so that may be why my weight increase has been so succesful. Hopefully I can maintain most of the weight after PCT.

So I'll be gathering advice on how to have a successful PCT, not on supplements, but on diet and routine advice. I've read different ways.

So I'm thinking to continue with high calorie and heavy lifting throughout PCT to try and hold on to my gains and then that will put me at 9 weeks of trying to gain. Then take 1 week off to let the old body rest and then do a 4 week cut and go from there. So any advice or opinions on this please let me know.

It doesnt make sense you would be peeing blood after 3 weeks of PCT and not during the cycle. Anyways, this is pretty atypical but sucks none the less.

Unfortunately theres no way to tell if the SuperHalo caused it but considering your bloodwork came back fine I'm willing to be it was something else.

I am 34 / 5'11/188. I ran a hdrol 5 week cycle at 50/50/50/50/75 with a great PCT and nice results. That cycle ended in mid-May. Does anyone think it would be too quick to do another 5 week cycle of hdrol at the beginning of sept? My dosages and PCT would be this...

HDROL : 50/75/75/75/75

PCT
Stoked(PCS): 4 caps/day
Lean Xtreme: 3/day (start day 15)
6-oxo: tapered down starting in week 3 @ 300/200/100/100ed
I3C- 400-600mg ed
ZMA

Obviously plan on having diet dialed in really good and would try and do cardio 3x a week while running hdrol.

Loved this compound on my first run, wow. Strenghth gains and recomp were very evident. I think 3 months off is going to be ok since it is a fairly mild compound.

thoughts/suggestions.

thanks

I'd probably go for it. I've ran Halo back to back with a 3 month break and still rocked it.

The 'typical' is cycle length + pct length = time off. So a 5 weeker, plus 4 weeks of PCT = 9 weeks off

9 weeks. Then i should be pretty good to go. Thanks. How does the setup look? I ran 50/50/50/50/75.....I believe i will go to 75 in the second week....like this...50/75/75/75/75

thanks

Awesome news DMAC! Despite the extreme amount of positive reviews / logs I've seen on H-Drol they never get old. Keep up the hard work and keep us updated

Hey guys, I've got a quick question.

I'm nearing the end of my 4th week on the H-Drol. The first 2 were at 50, and now I'm at 75. I've been noticeing since I have been at 75, that my body temp is increaseing, I tend to stay hot all the time and when I exercise, I sweat more than usual, is this normal??

Also my heart rate is up a little, haven't checked my BP, but just resting I can feel the difference, not anything extreme, just something I have noticed.

Always like to listen to what my body is telling me, so I thought I would ask the people who have experience.

So what do you think.

Oh yea, for some reason over the Labor day weekend, I lost 2 lbs, my calories dropped somewhat but only about 500 per day, which was still above my maintenance level. I'm thinking it may have been water weight, due to my increaed body temp, and I did a lot of manual labor outside in the heat. NO rest for the married guy. ( HONEY DO'S ) LOL

Any ideas???????

First of all - don't worry about the weight. Just take in a little extra food over the next few days to compensate. It was probably just water from being outside and sweating - perhaps a drop in sodium levels.

Get your BP checked and make a proper assessment off of that information. Soundsl like your fine. I definitely felt the therm effect while on - didn't bother me in the least. So long as you're not running a temperature - I would just enjoy it while it lasts.

Thanks Timber.
Not to woried about the BP, Just trying to document any changes that I feel, just in case someone else is reading and wants to know what to expect on their cycle.
Yea it just seemed strange to drop the weight that fast, I usually only weigh once a week, but my wife was weighing and she wanted to know my weight, and didn't beleive me, so I was showing her. Still up 8lbs, with no change in waist line.

I was thinking though, isn't H-Drol suppose to be dry gains, it seems strange to have some water weight gain, but I feel like I'm drowning with all the water I'm drinkingLOL

Thanks for your sanity check.

It's supposed to be relatively dry... But I'm positive that I was retaining 4 or 5 pounds of extra water... can't say it was entirely the H's fault - as I was eating carbs like a motherf*cker too... I mean, I weighed in at 194 after meals in the 5th week - and now I'm 186 / 187 midday and handling heavier weights than when I was on cycle - and I look better.

I agree with you on the carbs, I have increased mine for the energy, if my carbs go to low I get lethargic, and my cycle doesn't have very good results. I was planning on 5 weeks, but I may end it Friday at 4 weeks, starting to feel a little tired. Going to play it day by day.

Quick question on PCT( not about supps )

From what I've been reading, its best to keep lifting heavy and keep your calorie intake high to hold onto your gains. Is this the way you undertand it? I was planning on maybe dropping my calories about 250 - 500, which is still above my maintenance needs. Currently I'm working a body part every
4th day, when I start my PCT I willgo to every 5th day to avoid over training. I've found that more than that off cycle and I wear my old body down and make myself sick.

Thanks again for your input.

Yes, PCT should be active - with a lot of compound movements / lifts... Natural Testosterone.

Calories should still be fairly high as well. You have the right idea.

4 week update

Weigh in today

182.9lbs.

No real changes in weight this week, as I mentioned before I actually lost 2 lbs over the Labor Day weekend, but got it back since then. Probably a little water weight. But I appear to look bigger in my chest and shouldeer areas.

As far aas the cycle so far.
Workouts have been very good, strength is still increaseing, I have put up Personel best in almost every exercise. Recovery is still very good. Finally at the end of my workout I'm starting to feel a little tired, but I am busting my butt, and doing at least 2 sets to failure on each body part.

My overall body shape has improved, only measurements I have been takeing, is at the waist, and it only changed about 1/8" so not much, actually seeing some better definition in my upper abs and my shoulders and arms are getting a fuller look with an overall improved shape.

Throughout the day I continue to have a good tight feeling in whatever body part that I worked out that morning. I'm still doing stretching exercises at night to keep my flexability.

Starting to feel a little more tired than I was at the first of the cycle, so I'm going to only do 5 weeks. But compared to my other 2 cycles, by now I was very lethargic. I have been takeing antioxidants and improved my diet to prevent this as much as I can.

My diet continues to be the best I have ever been able to do, man I am craveing chocolate so bad,. LOL

Dude! Have a little chocolate!

Find some dark chocolate with low sugar - or just f it and have a couple squares of your favorite.

Best to eat it post workout (immediate)... Might actually help a bit.

I made it a point to not eat any candy for 5 weeks, so next Friday, my reward will be 1/2 a candy bar of a Hershey's bar. LOL
I'm sure I'll have a sugar high WOW:head:

Yes it will be with my post shake. Then no more until I complete my PCT.

Just a way I like to challenge myself, it helps me stay focused on my goals, may seem trivial to some, but its a mental thing.
Its so easy to stray from a healthy diet, so any deviation is harder on an older guy, our metabolism just cann't handle the simple carbs as easy as you younger guys. Or at least for me thats the way my body does.

Nah, I'm right there with you. I used to eat a couple bags of Skittles a day. I haven't had candy in a couple of years - lost the urge!

anytime I eat a 'cheat' food outside of dietary purposes, I feel guilty and horrible all day...I love the discipline you gain from a strict diet

That time I ****'ed that escort with my GF of 3 years 2,000 miles away I didn't even feel guilty and horrible all day

I mix my post WO whey with FF chocolate milk sometimes

That's what I call a cheat meal!!

That used to be my favorite when I started out in college... 2% chocolate milk and vanilla whey... BOING.

I've been buying Skinny Cow Fat Free Chocolate Milk. It tastes like reg. choc milk and has added protein. It has 0 fat obviously, 26g of carbs, and 11g of protein per 8 oz

Seriously, where do you find it?

By the way - I don't give a *hit about lactose... Just as long as there isn't any added sugar... I'd strongly prefer sucralose or similar.

Yeah - being chocolate it has 25g of sugar compared to 12 in regular milk. I only take it PW with whey

Seriously, you should look into HOODS CALORIE COUNT MILK. For the chocolate milk, it has minimum carbs and hardly any sugars. Taste great too.

Wow, great breakdown... Wish they had that at my grocery store in the city... :(

wuts the update DMAC?

Finally got a chance to give my final update.

Starting weight was
172.4
End weight was 183

Just a little over 10lbs increase.
Added 1/2" to my arms and legs
Waist line added about 1/4"

Overal I really liked the cycle. No sides to mention. Strength and receovery were very good throughout the cycle.

The only thing that was strange was my weight increase was good through the first 3 weeks. The last two I had no weight increase. Strength and recovery stayed very good but weight didn't change. My diet was very clean throughout, probably the best I have ever eaten for this 5 week period. My overall appearance is better, My arms and shoulders have a little bit more definition, at least I can see the difference. Started my PCT and I plan on keeping my calories around 3000, my maintenance level is right at 2600 daily. I'm going to keep pushing through PCT with heavy weight and focus on trying to add just a little more size. Once my PCT is over I'm going to take a 1 week break to let my body recouperate. Then hit it hard again. Focusing on definition and trying to cut some BF%, but not really reduce calories very much, just increase cardio.
I'm going to do a complete body detox in December
I think I'm going to run another cycle in January but for only 4 weeks.

So I want to thank everyone for their input and help, a lot of the advice was very helpful.

Time,effort,results,$$....was it all worth it or do you think you could have gotten there without? I am just curious because I am considering.
