super-setted with
Close Grip Bench: 40x10, 50x10, 60x10, 70x10, 40x10

Narrative: My nutrient timing was much better today than it was on Saturday. I was in the gym lifting just over an hour after eating. Much better results :) 6 unassisted pullups today. Up from 3 on the 14th. My deadlifts today were sliding up and down my legs more like romanian as opposed to regular deads. I didn't mind the redness until the bar tweaked a nerve right above my knee. It felt like a charlie horse.

Tomorrow is my last final, a day off from work, and a day of from lifting. My plan is to take my final, go tan again (I'm getting white again :( ) and get a massage. I told myself and this masseuse that frequents my store that I owed it to myself after this summer session was over and done with.

As you can see, it was a pretty poor lift today. My hamstrings have been killing me since my SLDLs on back day, thursday. Needless to say, I didn't feel like I could do much of anything in there today.

I've spent the remainder of the day stretching now and again as well as cleaning around the house a little. Kinda crappy way to come back to this ole log :(

I remember back when I graduated highschool in '02, I applied @ University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. UNC is rated as having the best quality education for the dollar. I really wanted to go there too. I went to do a campus visit, etc, etc.

They denied me.

hehe.

Face Pulls: 20x10, 25x10, 30x10, 35x10

Narrative:
Today was shoulders. I threw military in to the mix for the first time ever. I'm definately not used to it, hence the light weight. Legs were ok from yesterday. I had to stop the cardio postworkout really early. My quad started to cramp up so I only got about 6 minutes in.

My nutrition would have been good today, but there was a golden opportunity for a pizza eating contest at work, highlander style. Two men entered, one man left victorious. I won.

Damage Report: 1 and 5/8 medium (10") pizzas. :pizza:

The way I see it, today was a good way to kick off the bulk cycle. My plan is to start eating more + creatine to help me off this flippin plateau I've seemed to reach. I picked up a few tubs of LG cold fusion and I figure I'll run that for 2-3 months plus some additional monohydrate in WMS postworkout.

When I reach 200lb again, I will shave my head bald. Who's with me?! :head:

You had a pizza eating CONTEST:donut: !!

That's right, it's a once in a blue moon occurance and I hadn't had a really good cheat meal in awhile...seemed like a good idea at the time.

Felt like I was paying for it for about 2 hours afterwards, small price to pay to beat the champ though.

I only have one question.....Did Lardass have to PAY to get in the contest?

Narrative:
Wasn't expecting much difference in today, being day one and all. My head isn't in the right place right now either. Kinda concerned about my blood test that I got back, I made a post about it. Ultimately my white and red blood count is too low. I don't have any STDs (checked that too) and I'm pretty sure I don't have anemia. My total cholesterol is only 80 and my HDL is only 25. Ugh. I'm going to get retested in a week or two, hopefully there was just some type of error regarding the red/white count.

I'm back SB. I really appreciate the hot chicks on "layaway" lol! That made me laught bro.

So, how's the new private pile haircut? Is it scoring you any tail yet? haha

Log looks good buddy. BTW - Metallica's "Bleeding Me" is a fantastic song. I've worked out to it many a times. :D

Something I've been thinking about:

I'm thinking of training whole body, every other day. I haven't done a routine like that in over a year and I think it will possibly help me break through this plateau.

If not whole body, then perhaps a push-pull day followed by leg day then a day off. Something to break the routine.

Any thoughts?

After talking with DAdams about his total body lifting routine I figured that I would go ahead and try it myself. 10 minutes in to this routine and I was ready to hunt down DAdams, this workout is no joke! It was the first time, in over a year, that I felt like I was gonna puke towards the end there. Didn't happen but I did feel worn down after the lift.

I recently purchased their Beta Alanine product and will be starting it tomorrow.

I've got to give props to SNS, their container is very clean, to the point, and sharp looking. It's not all foil and bright colors a-la BSN or MT. 2.25g of Beta Alanine per 3 caps. 501 caps (167 servings) for 33 bucks. Invalid Link Removed Of course, it's sold out!

Hahaha... well done my man... I ran through the workout twice this week to get a feel and taste for the HST routine. And bar none I was ready to puke myself. The pace is nice and fast, and you fatigue a muscle with a lift before brutalizing it next. Its going to get interesting that is for sure.

Did you get the nice tingles from the BA?

Adams

Yeah, I've been on cold fusion for about a week and am still getting a little tingly from it. It'll be gone in no time though, :(

Lookin good my man... looking forward to a few weeks and see your overall review of things.

Adams

I've only had two workouts doing it. The first one was a baseline, picked some low weight. And now I'm slowly increasing the weight on the lifts. I already noticed on day 2 that I was no where near as queazy as I was towards the end of day 1.

I've also been trying to stretch my hams whenever I think about it. Some days I swear those things get so tight. And I'm noticing less tightness in those.

With the creatine I've already added 5lbs, water weight no doubt. Hopefully the creatine plus the muscle confusion that this workout seems provide will help me add some strength. If not during this current workout, then definately when I go back to a 4 day split.

Bob, how long are you gonna stick with this whole body workout thing?

1 to 2 months at most. Think that may be too long?

Question for you: When are those lower carb protein recovery balls coming out? I'm still snacking on the original when don't want to miss a meal. They're still just as addicting. Weren't you also thinking about chocolate ones?

My main concern with your whole body workout is recovery time. I would also be concerned that those body parts later in your workout will be able to be targeted with the same intensity as they would if you were on a split.

As for the lower carb higher Protein Balls, we're just waiting on the print shop to finish the boxes. We are completely redoing the packaging. Hopefully it won't be too much longer. It's gonna be a little longer after for the chocolate chip, as we'll have to do a relabeling, nutritional analysis for them as well. If you'll pm me your address again, I'll try to get you a sample of the chocolate chip.

Glad to hear you're still munching on the originals.

Well, I'm only training every other day. And making sure I keep up the eating on the off days. I should know by the end of this week if I'm giving myself enough recovery time.

I'll be waiting on the lower carb ones. I could use something like that for my contest diet to keep my protein up.

I'm not gonna lie, this routine is brutal. I'm sleeping really well though, so that's a plus. :) Tomorrow is an off day. I've never appreciated days off until this routine. I've always looked at them as 'in the way' of my lifting.

hey bob, just a thought for you. total body workouts maximize GH production, hence why you're sleeping better, and keep the levels above baseline for up to 48 hours after the workout. heavy carbs will blunt your GH levels. you'll still gain strength from this kind of workout whether you take in carbs or not, but the less you take in is better. though i would do heavy carb loading pre workout if possible, since the GH levels are declining anyways, and i'm going to respike them in a few hours when i lift. just a thought for you brotha. course you might already know all that. i started a log for this kind of training, only to realize my new gym has ONE squat rack, and no deadlift platform, so if its in use, i'm screwed. bleh. time to go back to the old gym.

if you'd like to know a ton about GH production and total body workouts, i have 5 pages of documents on .jpg i can email to you if you'd like. anyways, rock on with your log brotha. i remember the first time i did a total body with my workout partner - he chucked in the parking lot. i thought it was funny, till i got home and did it too. them were the days.

Bob, I'm not trying to hijack your log, but I've got an unrelated question for you. I'm running an unsponsored Hyperdrive/Meltdown log for my wife on here and I'm going to put up a few "before" pics. How would someone go about posting said pics?

When you go to make the post there is a paperclip next to the smiley face on the box above this one, click on it. It will take you to the option to upload pics from your hard drive.

Thanks, if you get a chance...check out the thread. I'd/she'd love some tips. Not sure how to link it here, but it's My wife's Hyperdrive/Meltdown workout log.

Bob, the thread hijack is done....sorry man. Keep up the good work by the way.

Narrative:
This week is going to be much nicer to my legs but really shows how weak my back is. I realized after my first squat that it wasn't as heavy as normal, (forgot it was only 1 set) so I went back after the regular portion of the lift to do another set of squats.

I may need to go a little heavier on some of the lifts. I didn't feel tired or anything after this lift. Maybe it's split by week to allow your big muscles to recovery for the following week?

I'm gonna sleep well tonight. No work until 2!

So do you find the full body workouts to be doing much yet?

The week one lifts were kicking my butt. Not so much for the start of week two. I think I gauged too low on some of the lifts today, (trying to pick a weight were I can slowly increase it and still get 10 reps out) as well as too high on some of the other lifts.

I may need to pick up the pace for this week of training. If it is less intense then I need to decrease the time between sets even more.

I can say that I am putting on some weight. At this point I could only contribute that to creatine.

Hopefully I'll be fully integrated in to this style of lifting by the time I start my Anabolic Edge log. I think that will be a good combination for me. And then after that, maybe a few weeks to a month more of total body and then it's back to my 4 day split. :food:

Narrative:
I think lifted too soon after eating today. I start lifting about 30-40 minutes after breakfast instead of the usual hour+ and I paid for it. I started noticing it on the pulldowns. And it kept getting progressively worse to the point that I had to stop early.

I puked at the gym. This is a first for me. It's gotta be some kind of rite of passage or something along those lines. After that I was fine. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I did have some weird dreams last night.

The one that I remember, I was part of a group of 6-8 people and we were all being chased by Darth Vader. We finally held our ground inside some sort of warehouse and we were firing at him with AR-15s and Steyr AUGs. Damn Sith Lords always startin' sh*t in peoples dreams, what's that about?
